Welcome to Crowes Cottages! Located between the beaches, these charming cottages provide a rare opportunity for the perfect vacation in Maine. We have blended together rustic style cottages with modern amenities to make for a relaxed and comfortable week (or two!) at the seacoast, reminiscent of the way life used to be or as we say in Maine, "the way life should be". Crowes Cottages has been a family destination for over 40 years in York Beach. We feel very fortunate to have recently purchased the property from the "Crowe" family and feel confident we can provide wonderful family experiences for the next 40 years! Our foundation will be great customer service that will lead to great rental experiences here at Crowes! We bring over 14 years of experience managing other rentals in York Beach, with a proven track record of ensuring clean, well appointed units that will exceed guests expectations.

Boasting 2 bedrooms, applianced kitchens and located in a very short walk to both Long Sands and Short Sands. These cottages are rustic, and affordable in price. Please be prepared to bring your own linen and towels. Also, we do not provide pantry items such as condiments. The showers are small stall showers and we do have an outdoor enclosed shower that has hot and cold water. Whatever you decide to do, enjoy our comfortable cottages as your home base. We also provide picnic benches for outdoor dining and there is parking for two cars. On the property we provide horseshoes, room for the kids to play and a couple of charcoal grills. Each cottage has 1 AC window unit. Come, park and play!

Crowes is located so close to everything you can literally park the car and leave it for the week while you enjoy walking to two beaches and downtown York Beach. If you are familiar with the Short Sands area, then you know there is plenty for everyone to do. Of course there is a sandy beach, but also a large new modern playground and volleyball court being completed for the 2024 summer season, penny candy, casual and fine dining options and of course, ice cream shops! York Beach is unique in that it offers entertainment for the family that will remind you of yesteryear. York's Wild Kingdom is a small amusement park with a very nice zoo. Check out the gazebo near the ocean and enjoy the weekly live music while the kids are at the arcade or bowling!

Wonderful week at York Beach

My boys and I had a wonderful week in York at this cute and quaint cabin. We had all of the things we needed for the week including a nice grill used for burgers and a nice big picnic table that we had a yummy lobster dinner! The location to short sands was ideal for hitting the beach a few days while also enjoying the arcade, restaurants, candy and ice cream shops, and beach shops! We have already been thinking about planning another trip and using these cabins!

Great location

The cottage is light and breezy, freshly painted and with new furniture. The double bed was very soft, too soft for me! The cottage is clean and is a minute walk to Short Sands Beach, which is so great. There is no sink in the bathroom! The step going up into the cottage is a very big one. An older person would have little bit of a hard time getting in and out. Also the step area at the entrance needs some work to eliminate tracking dirt into the cottage. The cottage has new owners, and I'm sure they're addressing all of these things as they make the cottages their own! Overall, a great place to stay in Short Sands. The location is so good!

Rustic but worked for 2.5 days

Check in was easy, but there were no blankets and it was a cold Labor Day weekend. They brought us some great blankets after I left a message. The floors were sandy upon check in and there is no sink in the bathroom, but the shower was warm. The kitchen was nice as well as the TV and bedrooms rooms but there was no clothes line to hang wet bathing suits and towels unless there is one near the back of the property, which I imagine would be frustrating for a longer stay. They were going to charge the full week fee to bring our dog for two and half days so we didn’t bring her. Our neighbors parked their motorcycles in front of their cabin and the property thought it was our cabin. They called us asking to move them, but I didn’t get their voicemail until we left York. I hope they contacted the right cabin and the situation was resolved! All in all, decent place but a little pricey with all the fees for what it is.

Cozy Cabin By the Sea

Nice rustic cabin. Great location! Easy walk to beach. Dog friendly. Cabin is tiny, and not a ton of space to store clothes or kitchen items so better for smaller families. Very enjoyable though!

Such a perfect week!

Upon our arrival, we were able to check-in early which was really nice. The cottage itself was perfect for the 2 of us. A little bit of dirt and sand on the floor and couch but nothing inconvenient. The grounds were well kept and had a great time playing cornhole. We will definitely stay here again. It was a great time.

Went for some great walks, had 4 days of beautiful weather, fun in the downtown and lobsters at the cabin! Love the updates. Maybe a full length mirror behind a door? And a mat under the dish drying rack...can’t wait to stay again! Thank you so much (my 3rd year!)

We loved our stay at Crowe's Cottages. The perfect beach get away. The cottage was bright and clean. The beds were very comfortable. We had all the amenities we needed for a wonderful time at York Beach. Thank you!!!
