Our first time staying in this cabin and it was awesome. The location is perfect to downtown Saluda. We enjoyed the quiet, secluded feel of the cabin and being close to downtown was a plus. The cabin was very well taken care of and had everything we looked for in a stay. Will definitely stay again soon!
We had a wonderful time in Saluda. The cabin was nice and the scenery beautiful. Communication with the host was great, and she was always quick to answer questions. The only suggestion would be to mark the entrance a little better with a sign or numbers. If it was there, we missed it. Overall a great stay and would highly recommend to anyone.
We had a mix-up at check-in, that seemed to be a bigger issue than it was, to me as I had my rehearsal dinner at 5 pm and we did not resolve the issue until 8:15pm. The owners offered to reimburse me for a night due to the issue, and it was appreciated. Their cleaning person was phenomenal and went above and beyond for us. I believe they plan to change the way renters enter the space so that this does not happen again.
We stayed at Crooked Cabin and had a lovely weekend. The cabin is well-maintained and very clean. Itâs rustic, as a mountain cabin should. The other cabins on the property are far enough away that you have plenty of privacy. The cabin is down a gravel road, so plan on washing your vehicle afterwards. Saluda is lovely little town with a couple of nice restaurants. Tryon, Flat Rock, and Hendersonville are easy drives. However, the cabin has plenty of kitchenware if you just want to go and hide in the mountains.
Short but restful visit. Quiet amidst the trees. The drive was more challenging than we really expected but once we experienced it⊠travel there after was great! Loved the town!!
We very much enjoyed our stay in this cabin in the woods. Very private and peaceful. Cabin was very clean upon our arrival. Proximity to Pearson Falls and Saluda Bakery are a real plus, a 1+ mile drive to each. The driveway is extremely steep along the paved front portion, but we had no problem making it up. We had no problem sleeping, but did find the first floor bed mattress a little worn. Might be time for a replacement. Internet and television both worked fine for our limited evening use. We would certainly return to "Crooked Cabin" for a future visit.
Steep drive made me anxious but husband was driving so it was all good. Enjoyed waterfalls, wineries, disc golf and downtown Saluda and the hot tub before the rain
Saluda is such a quiet and small town with such kind people. When I had a question, it was answered immediately. The trip up to the house was fun and an adventure. The kids and I enjoyed it all and the views. It was a great house and very comfortable. Everything we needed was there.
Relaxing weekend. Well stocked kitchen with everything you need. Quiet surroundings. Much needed r&r and this cabin for the bill. Would gladly stay again!
Perfect Cabin for a relaxing getaway. Cabin was as described, clean, well maintained, everything we needed. The driveway was steep, but after making it up the first time it was almost fun to go up and down, the area was beautiful, small creeks and waterfalls everywhere. We hiked Pearson Falls, but similar falls were all along the roads.
While the location was a bit difficult to get to the cabin was quaint. The hot tub was a must for us and this one fit the bill. The downstairs bed mattress could stand to be replaced, but we relocated to the upstairs bed was fine. The overall stay would have merited a 4 star review, but in good conscience we could not. On the second night we were watching tv in the downstairs living room when my wife felt something on her which ended up being a rather large cockroach which I was able to dispatch with a quick response before it got away. While we did not encounter any other surprises, that took all of our remaining joy away until we hastily departed the next morning.
My husband and I stayed here for a few days. We enjoyed the cabin very much. Had an issue with the gas fireplace. Fortunately, we did not end up needing the heat for our stay. We recommend there be more specific instructions for future guests especially for the colder months. Other than that everything was perfect for us. The hot tub was fantastic. Kitchen was well stocked. Linens and towels were perfect. We hiked Pearson Falls and jones Gap Rainbow Falls. That was perfect. The small town of Saluda was great. Enjoyed breakfast at Wards Cafe. Overall, this was a great getaway for us. The driveway was a challenge but fun.
My daughter and I really enjoyed our stay. Very nice remote location, yet not too far away from any needs. Easy check in and very clean. We enjoyed the hot tub on the cool evenings and Pearson's Falls was right down the road. Hoping to come back in the fall with my wife.
We enjoyed our last minute get away and the cabin was lovely!
We enjoyed the time at the cabin. The area was quiet and peaceful. Unfortunately we were able to use the hot tub only once because of the weather, but it was clean and relaxing. We loved Saluda. The people were friendly and the shops were so cute. Also enjoyed nearby Pearson Falls and the Marked Tree Winery was so much fun! We canât wait to try this againâŠthis time in the Fall. Thank you for such a nice experience.
Interesting driveway but not as bad as it looked. Convenient as we were cycling Saluda and Tryon. Kitchen well equipped. TV a bit hard to figure out but we donât watch often. We enjoyed the privacy
We enjoyed our stay in this quaint little cabin! The hot tub was great - very clean and private - just off the downstairs bedroom. We enjoyed relaxing and drinking coffee on the back porch. The kitchen was well equipped - nice, new pots and pans. The cabin was very clean. As stated earlier, the driveway is a little steep but we drove up and down with no problems. Make sure to follow the homeowners directions to access the cabin as it is much easier than GPS! Saluda is a cute little town and Hendersonville is an easy drive for more restaurants and shops.
This was the perfect size and had all the essentials. (I consider a hot tub an essential!) So many outdoor activities nearby and close to many good restaurants! Easy to get to while feeling "away" from it all. We hope to go back!
We spent 6 nights in the crooked cabin. It was a fantastic. The cabin was Quiet and very private. The private Jacuzzi was awesome work perfectly. My wife and a great time. It was about 30 minute drive to Hendersonville. We will definitely love to visit again. Thank you Ginny and Penny.

We have lived in Saluda for over 25 years. In the early 70's Robert was Saluda's first health care provider. After serving as the first Medical Director of the Saluda Medical Center he returned to his family occupation and his true passion..flying. His life as an 'ag pilot' has taken the entire family on remarkable journey's across the country for years.
When looking for a place to spend our time, on the rare occasions we were home, we found the property at Sand Cut Pass. Before any structures were placed on the property we used the property as a place to introduce our children to the wonders of camping in the mountains. We set up camp on the banks of the Pacolet River every chance we had. Our son learned how to bathe in the ice cold river water and play 'Pooh Sticks' from the bridge. One of the large rocks in the river is still known as 'Joshua's Rock' in our family. Eventually we put a small cabin up higher on the property so we were less inclined to run back to our home in town. This cabin is now used as a 'caretaker's cottage' In the late 90's came the decision to build 'Crooked Cabin'. The cabin was built out of a 'labor of love'. The cabin was to be built by us but shortly after starting the construction on the cabin Robert suffered a severe accident which prevented him from doing as much work as he would have liked. At that time both family and friends joined in to help complete the construction on the cabin. We have since then enjoyed sharing our retreat with family, friends and our wonderful guests.
The property upon which the cabin is located is protected on all sides which increases the privacy, however, it is less than 5 minutes from I-26 which can lead to a multiple of mountain adventures. With the outside fire pit on the Crooked Cabin property you can have the feel of the 'great out doors', then relax in our luxurious hot tub on the back deck or retire to the comfort of your cabin. The driveway is steep but 4 wheel drive/AWD isnât required to drive up. Pickup trucks and hybrid vehicles tend to have more trouble with the incline. However, most of our guests manage to drive up without too much difficulty.
