This cozy four-bedroom, two-bathroom home is ideally located near OâHare Airport and downtown Chicago, offering convenience and comfort. Designed with simplicity and functionality in mind, it features an open living and dining area with hardwood floors and ample natural light. While not high-end, the home provides a warm and welcoming atmosphere, perfect for those seeking a practical and affordable space.
A perfect blend of suburban charm and city accessibility awaits!
The location is an hour bus or train ride to the lake. Plenty of things to walk to by the house. The air conditioning did not work well, especially the rooms furthest from the front door. The washer and dryer also did not work.
My family and stayed 2 nights at Alex's place. For us it was a great location equidistant from family events in the city. The 4 bedrooms were all very cozy and comfortable with easy access to bathrooms. The kitchen likewise was super clean and had everything that we needed. As an added bonus the house was only about 200 yards from a great breakfast restaurant call Eggselent. I would not hesitate to book Alex's house again on any return trip to Chicago.
Les points faibles : Emplacement et exactitude de lâannonce
Just ok. Location and parking are not as advertised
The host did not send rental info until I messaged him the day of our stay. When we arrived, the entire place was HOT!! The lower level is controlled by two window units, one of which is in a side bedroom. The upstairs was sweltering hot, to the point where we were unable to get much sleep the first night (the kids did fine in the downstairs area however). I had messaged the host regarding the temperature an hour or so after we arrived, and called whenever he did not reply to me on the VRBO app. He stated that the upstairs unit was remotely controlled by his nest thermostat and that "he would set it to like 70 degrees". It took well over 24 hours for the temperature to come down. The unit itself was clean. There is a bus stop directly in front of the unit, so be aware of that. Also the front door you could literally walk up into the porch and see into the unit, which was scary considering we have small children. Perhaps they could consider putting up a blind or curtain on the front door. Most of the furniture is dated, too. Onto the parking situation. In the check in message, it was conveyed to us that there is "plenty of parking on Narragansett Ave and W Belle Plaine Ave (perpendicular street)". That was an outright lie!! We found nothing even remotely close to the unit when we came back from the zoo on Saturday. So be mindful of this when you rent this. Overall, I would not recommend this place nor would I stay again.
