Amazing views of Rockland Harbor, the Breakwater Lighthouse, & stunning sunrises over the ocean make this spot a truly beautiful space to relax and unwind after a day of exploring the shops/restaurants of Rockland or the natural beauty of mid-coast Maine.
Every aspect of our stay was top drawer. From relaxed well appointed interior space to lovely exterior space, cleanliness and location, may be our best property experience traveling along coastal Maine. Highly recommend.
Definitely one of my favorite places Iâve stayed in Rockland. The living space is fantastic. There is plenty of room, itâs comfortable, nice decor and art throughout, good lighting, convenient electrical outlets, nice defined spaces, well appointed kitchen and easy to use laundry. The bedrooms have plenty of closet and drawer space, luggage racks, and hangers . Beds are comfy and the pillows are nice.It rained almost my entire trip, but I did have one day where I could sit out in the yard and it was fantastic. It is very well kept; lawn mowed, all furniture was clean and grill was ready to go. The neighborhood is my favorite in Rockland. Itâs quiet, safe, walking distance to downtown and near the water. The owners were so welcoming and friendly! They made sure I had whatever I needed. They live upstairs and you share a yard with them. However, I never felt they were too involved with my stay and I didnât feel like I was intruding in their space ever.I would recommend this place to anyone I knew. Especially if they are looking for a place with not a lot of stairs. So many places have steep staircases to get to bedrooms. This home is one floor with a couple steps into the house. Kind of a rare find in the area.
Originally from the Portland area, Michaelanne and I relocated to Dallas, TX for work related reasons. After 20 years in Dallas and a thru-hike on the Appalachian Trail, we sold our business and retired from our careers to return to our beloved state of Maine. We are both avid hikers, love to ski, canoe, sail, and just about anything involving being outdoors. Not wanting to be in an urban environment anymore and looking for a simpler way of life, midcoast Maine had everything we were looking for.
The south end of Rockland is a gem! Walkable to all the downtown has to offer (museums, shops, restaurants, beach). The neighbor is quiet, friendly, and has amazing views of Rockland Harbor & Penobscot Bay.
Our home was built in 1890 by the Snow family and sits at the top of the hill with spectacular views of Camden Hills, downtown Rockland, Vinalhaven & North Haven Islands and the Rockland Breakwater lighthouse. Sunrises are amazing!!
