We were supposed to check in at five, and that turned into six oâclock. The accommodations were ok, but not even close to being worth 1800 for 4 nights. The sinks in the bathrooms drained slow, and when showering you were standing in water bc the tubs didnât drain well either. We just werenât happy with what we got for the price!!!
What an amazing place for us to experience our first 4848 Fesitivacation. Perfect size and set up for our family of 4! Thanks for letting us stay and we hope to be back next year.
This place is easy access to the slopes and The Village. It is as advertised in the pictures. It could use an update on decor but the location is what you are going for!
You canât get much closer to the lifts which is why we chose this unit. Interior is a bit small but nice and comfortable. There is also lots of nice common space to hang out in if you want to get out of the room. Family type place and was fairly quiet which was a plus. Building is dated but thatâs not important to us, we were there to ski. Pretty much as advertised. Good communication with owner.
We loved our stay, but parking was a bit of an issue.
Was our first time staying in the village and we loved it. Only issue we had was parking when we arrived on Saturday night. There were no spaces available in the mountain lodge lot and the other option was 1 mile away at Top of the World, which was not practical. So I circled the lot for about 45 minutes and finally saw someone leave. I think everyone staying at mountain lodge should have access to at least one spot. Other than that, we enjoyed our trip very much!
Easy rental process and the owners are great to work with. Itâs a close walk to the Village, which is nice. The walls/ceilings/floors are thin, so you will hear your neighbors at times and they will hear you as well. I would recommend a listing of whatâs available in the kitchen. There wasnât a cookie sheet, oven mitt/s or cooking utensils, which would have been nice to have since we prepared most of our meals in our room. We had to turn off the thermostat as it stayed too hot for our family.
The location of this condo makes access to the slopes very easy! It is about a 3-4 minute walk to the rental place and start of most slopes, a few are accessible right by the lodge. You do have to carry your skis for that walk unless youâre an avid cross country skier. Thereâs a great little food truck right outside of the lodge too (on the back slope side) thatâs open from around 7-4. This mountainâs lifts close at 4 or 4:30 but there is night time skiing at Silver Creek & you can either drive or take a shuttle from the Village there.
The two beds in the room off the back of the condo facing the parking lot were extremely comfortable with kind of like a pillow top mattress feel. The en suite bedroom with just one bed has an incredibly firm mattress that no one in my party liked. The kitchen had everything I needed for basic cooking but the range wasnât functioning in peak condition, one of the burners didnât work at all and the other large burner was incredibly slow to heat. Nonetheless, I was able to feed my hungry skiers! The comfy sectional sofa had plenty of room for three of us to lounge after a day of skiing & there was plenty of hot water on demand!
Mountain Lodge is well located, but please read the descriptions and look at the pictures closely. Pictures are fairly accurate, but the rooms are small, the ceilings are 7.5' tall and the space is congested for three adults (which we had). This unit beds and pillows were uncomfortable. The heat, even when turned off, stayed around 80 degrees.
The biggest issue with this unit may have more to do with current Snowshoe Covid policies. We were charges extensive "cleaning fees" that require the renter make beds on arrival, strip beds upon leaving, remove all trash and generally leave the unit clean. Our unit was still rather unclean on arrival and had a chronic smell from the previous tenant. No amenities are provided other than a basic bar of soap.
Cost relative to value may be a Snowshoe-wide problem, but I would not return to this unit, even if offered at 1/4 the price paid. We did rent on a very busy week (Monday and Tuesday), but a budget hotel has better amenities and space. Add in the cleaning fees combined with an obvious lack of cleaning, and this was a noteworthy enough stay to write a less than rosy review.
This review is simply informative so that renters have a better idea of what to expect. It certainly was not what we expected. Mountain Lodge is well located, but we will avoid all rentals in the building in the future.
Great location for Slopeside skiing stay. Beds were uncomfortable and stove/oven did not work well, but convenient for skiing and accessing village! Not being able to control the heat and temperature in unit made 1st night uncomfortable, and then we had to keep the sliding door open and fans on to keep apartment comfortable temperature.
Letâs start with the good. Great location! Short walk out the door to the slopes and close to the stairs for a true ski in ski out experience.
And now the bad. The entire Mountain Lodge is dated and letâs just say less than clean throughout and our room was no different. Dirty carpets, dirty couches, pillows so stained they had plastic zip on pillow cases under the clean linens. Bathrooms and kitchen were fine overall. When the 15 yo boys noticed the dirt, I knew it was bad. Great location just clean it up! And buy a new couch!
This is our 4th time staying at the Lodge.. Location Location Location..its an older building needs some overall updates but I am there to ski đż not to hang out in the apt.
Condo was clean and as listed. Great weekend of bikes and friends. Temperature in condo was very warm during the day but got cooler at night. Portable ac unit was very helpful. Thanks for a good stay.
