Welcome to The Grove, your ideal retreat in Marion, Illinois! Located at the west end of Marion, nestled in a serene wooded area, this cabin offers the perfect blend of tranquility and convenience, being just under 5 minutes from the new Oasis Sports Complex and Kokopelli Golf Course, situated in the heart of Marion. The Grove is also less than 5 minutes away from Herrin, a neighboring town.

Accommodating up to six guests, The Grove features three cozy bedrooms, including two twin beds, a queen bed, and a king bed, ensuring a comfortable stay for families or couples looking to unwind. Each bedroom is thoughtfully equipped with a smart TV and ceiling fans for your convenience.

After a day of exploring, come back to relax in this peaceful setting. Enjoy the nearby Kokopelli Golf Course and the new Oasis Sports Complex (opening in the summer of 2025), both just minutes away. You'll also find a variety of dining options in the area, making it easy to sample the local flavors. Embrace the best of both worlds at The Grove—your home away from home!

The Grove is located on our families farmland. You may see us from time to time, bailing hay or working on the property to ensure it's in top shape. We are very careful not to disturb our guests and allow them to fully enjoy their stay!
Important Tips Before Your Stay

A set up package of 4 rolls of toilet paper, 1 roll of paper towels, 4 dishwasher pods, and 4 Free and Clear laundry pods are provided for each booking. All sheets, blankets, comforters, pillowcases, and throw blankets are laundered with free and clear laundry detergent. All items, used or unused, are laundered every time the home is rented.

Parties or group events are strictly prohibited

Once your booking is accepted, we will send you a short-term rental agreement that is to be reviewed and signed within 24 hours of your accepted reservation. It is the renter's responsibility to ensure that all guests abide by the house polices outlined in the agreement.

The Grove has a strict no-smoking and vaping policy inside the home, on the porches, and near the home. There is a designated smoking location under the carport with a receptacle. The home is made of cedar, which easily soaks in smells, making future non-smoking guests' stays unpleasant. If you or your guests smoke or vape, there are several homes in the area with more lax smoking policies. Thank you.

Nice and quiet

It was clean and the furniture was very comfy. The tvs in every room was also nice. It could use some extra blankets in the closet, and also maybe some outdoor seating around the fireplace outside.

What a fantastic place to call “home” for the week. The location was central to all of my family locally and the driveway was big enough to fit their trucks! The yard had ample space for my nieces and nephews to play games. The wildlife in the field out back was a bonus! Everyone really enjoyed themselves and we can’t wait to come back!

The cabin is beautiful and spacious. The location is quiet and serene in a woodsy environment. The owners of the property are very nice. The check-in process was easy and we enjoyed our stay very much. We had a 3 and 4 year old and the owners left us a gift of s’mores to make for kids out by the fire pit. It was a big hit with the children. I would highly recommend this location.

Cozy but Roomy Secluded Cabin

Great spot - cabin secluded in the woods but close to town. Very clean, plenty of room for six of us. All decorated for Christmas! Hosts were very friendly and attentive!

Perfect getaway at THE GROVE, close to SIU

The Grove was the perfect stay for our extended family for our son's graduation at SIU. The beds were very comfortable, the kitchen was perfect with all supplies, and the living area was great for reclining and reading a book. We loved the peaceful property and seeing the deer and song birds (pee wee, indigo bunting) each day. The porch swing is a nice place to relax, drink coffee, and watch the world go by. Melissa and Ryan were the perfect hosts. We highly recommend this escape to serenity.

A splendid TREAT of a Retreat

The Grove is perfect in every way. This home is pristine and so incredibly clean and comfortable. The owners have thought of everything and outfitted the residence with quality furnishings, ample and comfortable furniture, bedding and linens! It is incredibly well-equipped with every excellent quality amenity to make your stay simply perfect. You feel like you’re in a world all to your own, but paved roads will quickly lead you to many stores and restaurants just minutes away. It truly is a gem and someplace we will stay when we travel home to visit family! It absolutely feels like home, away from home.

Hospitality at it's finest!

We came to visit family and found The Grove. The photos don't do it justice. The property was beautiful and the house was everything we needed. The house was impeccably clean which made my clean-freak heart happy. We have already made arrangements to stay again in the spring when we come back. The hosts were just lovely. They had great communication and made us feel so welcome. Great job, guys! We will see you in April.

Perfection in a Vacation Rental!

Don't hesitate to book here! It was perfect for a girls' trip (4 adults)! The place feels secluded, but is less than 10 minutes from grocery stores, pharmacies, restaurants and anything you need. The place felt so calm and peaceful. It is very roomy and comfortable. We loved using the Blackstone to grill, and the kitchen had everything you needed to cook (many more appliances, pans, kitchen gadgets, etc. than I have found in previous rentals). Beds were comfortable. TVs in every room. Nice bedding, towels, etc. Pretty artwork and seasonal decor made the place truly feel like home. Comfortable living room and dining room furniture as well. Plus, it was super clean!! We didn't want to leave! 10/10 all the way on this rental. Treat yourself (and your family/friends) and stay here...just take care of the place as I hope to get back again in the future!! Melissa will go out of her way to help and offer suggestions. The host family is highly recommended as well...the Farleys definitely take pride in their property and want you to have a FANTASTIC stay...we did!

While much of the land has been heavily stripped mined, including our own home, The Grove stands out as a precious gem. The original owners made a courageous decision to resist the advances of coal companies year after year, preserving this beautiful parcel of land which is home to hundreds of walnut and sycamore trees. The name, The Grove, came from these beautiful groupings of trees where many children, including our own, find themselves playing on and under.

Now, we have the privilege of carrying on that legacy. We acquired this property from another family, also passionate Illini fans, who had it in their family for several generations. The Grove offers a serene, secluded atmosphere that evokes the charm of a bygone era. Its simplicity is unparalleled, and we invite you to experience the magic of The Grove.
