Beautiful property and area. We always enjoy staying here when visiting our daughter. The host is welcoming and helpful. Couldnt imagine staying anywhere else when we come to GA.
Very quiet location up on a hill surrounded by woods. Sitting outside at night looking at the stars is a great experience. The city of Helen is less than 30 min. away.
Green Shutters was perfect for us, great location for motorcycling. The house had everything we needed. We loved the outdoor fire pit. Our host, Brooks, was a pleasure to deal with. Thank you!
Older home. Had a strange smell (I think due to âdog friendlyâ nature. Bathroom wasnât cleaned very good but host did offer to bring me coffee in an effort to apologize. Host was very friendly and responded quickly
We enjoyed the unique and rustic feel of the house! The host had great communication and even left the lights on in case we arrived after dark. It was conveniently located and felt private. Weâd stay again!
Upon arriving, I thought we must be at the wrong place. The property was awry and needed a lot of attention. Over grown shrubbery and 2 HUGE piles of mulch and a falling down structure met us as we first pulled up. Upon entering the cottage though, things started looking up. The inside had a warm and homie feeling and was quite pleasing. I wonât complain about the one bed that I am sure was 2 boxsprings stacked on each other because the other bed was soft and comfortable. Would I stay here again?
YOU BET ! ! !
It was clean for the most part, but the tub/shower was really gross. It had mold growing under the cracks in the wall around the tub, which indicated it hadn't been cleaned well in a long time. I have bad allergies to mold and mildew, so it did make my allergies a lot worse. If you don't have that issue, you probably wouldn't notice, and the rest of the house was tidy and inviting. The appliances were very old, and running the oven set off the smoke alarm even though there was no smoke. The air wasn't running properly for most of the stay, but the owner did his best to rectify that before we left and was very accomodating on that issue. Overall, it was a nice little place to stay for our honeymoon for a few days. I would recommend it for a small group (no more than two couples or a family of four) as there are only two rooms and a pull out sofa in the little living room. It was perfect space wise for just me and my husband, though. Brooks was a good host and made sure we had what we needed!
Brooks was a great host and very responsive through the whole process. The house was perfect for what we were looking for and we really enjoyed our stay!
The cottage had everything we needed to make our stay very comfortable. Brook was very easy to work with. Enjoyed our stay at the cottage and the city of Demurest.
A walk back in time with wifi and central heat/air
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Green Shutters Cottage. The mountain view out back was lovely. The furnishings were comfortable and quirky. We really liked the outdoor spaces and HoneyPie, my nephew's dog, loved being able to explore while on the provided tether while they visited us for the afternoon and grilled out. I'd definitely recommend this gem and stay again when visiting the area again in the future.
We absolutely love this place..the rooms are ample sized with a large dining room table for meals and game playing. Beautiful outdoor areas for enjoying the property.
We enjoyed staying here. The front porch with closed gate was great for the dog. The charcoal grill was really helpful. Would definitely stay here again.
Sweetest little cottage. Extremely convenient area. Ingles and Dunkin like 5 mins away. Lots of food places.
The cottage is super peaceful. Beds are comfy too. Brooks makes check in/checkout super easy and is a wonderful host. He didnt mind answering questions. He even ran by and dropped off extra household supplies for us.
My son whose 12 loved feeling like he was staying at his nannys house.
I recommend to anyone and we will definitely use this rental again.
Thanks again Brooks. âșïž
I am a native of Atlanta that has always been a country boy trapped in a city boy's body. Now, I have my chance to live my dream. I bought Sole Farm in 2013, 24 acres of magnificent rolling hills dotting with ancient Oaks with stunning views in foothills of the Blue ridge mountains. I built my dream house, a Tuscan villa, call Villa del Sole. It was finished in 2016. Green Shutters Cottage was the original 1947 mill house that was existing on the property where the Masters family lived for almost 60 years and farmed the land. The property is in conservation easement and will remain a farm for the duration of my life. I have begun to farm the land but in a different way. A hoop house/high tunnel has been added to grow seasonal organically grown vegetables..
