Lovely family owned cabin, owners are very nice, spacious and down to earth. Family and I enjoyed staying there. Please note this is off a major highway it did not affect us as we are used to it. Will definitely book again!

Not as advertised
We choose this property for our family vacation because it advertised as handicap accessible. There was no part of the property that was accessible, starting with getting from the car and into the house. I needed assistance from my family a lot more than I should have needed in an accessible house. Another trip hazard was the many small carpets scattered around.
We expected the road noise from your listing, however, we didnât expect the constant dog barking from next door.
On a good note: our hosts were very friendly and helpful, the house was very well equipped and comfortable.
This home is not cleaned properly. ALOT of dust, dishes & kitchen were not clean. It smelled badly. The window AC units smelled bad & were full of dust. It is on a busy & noisy road. I won't stay there again.
The beds are very comfortable but the sheets are too small and slide off the mattress. The sinks, toilet and shower are very clean as is the stove and refrigerator. Dust present on all flat surfaces the ceiling fan, baseboards and some of the walls. Too many dust catchers like artificial flowers . Air freshener used are over powering in odor. Bedrooms face the road and the road noise made sleeping almost impossible except between 1am and 5 am. I appreciate the fact this is an old home and the owner is a very nice person, but the home needs a thorough cleaning and to be decluttered.
We really enjoyed staying at granny's place. It has been cozy, and felt just like home. We will definitely be coming back in the future. Thanks for having us.

Granny's Place was a very quaint and comfortable place to stay for a NC retreat. The Oliver's were very nice and accommodating in our stay. The kitchen and refrigerator was well stocked. Exceptional value for our visit to the Grassy Creek show in Spruce Pine.
My husband and I stayed here with our three dogs and this house was perfect for our trip! It was homey and comfortable. Jim and his wife met us there to check us in and were so kind and hospitable. We will be returning as soon as possible!
Had everything we needed, was clean and we had a great time talking with the owners Jim and Barb. Also, had great hot water in the shower, perfect for our post Scream run.
This property brought back fond memories of my early years on a farm. I enjoyed my stay - the tranquility & charm - as well as the Oliver's consideration to have coffee, milk, bread, etc., on hand when I arrived.
The Oliver's are wonderful hosts. Compassionate and generous. Phone call away if you need anything. Their home does feel just like you're visiting Granny's. Very cozy but if you need to stay connected, the WiFi worked perfectly. Location keeps you within reach of needs that may arise. One of my dogs encountered unexpected health issues and a vet as well as emergency vet were within a half hour drive. The care she received was exceptional. We needed to extend our stay due to this and the Oliver's were graciously accommodating which helped in allowing her to come home and extending our time with her for as long as possible. Thank You! Would love to return to Granny's when we can actually enjoy our stay.
Jim was every nice, Place was not clean, hair in the bed, food stuck to the sink, etc. His son Scott could no be contacted I tried. We left after one hour and went to stay in a local hotel in Hickory NC. Just took the loss to help out the parents who let us into the property.
We were very fortunate to find accommodations for our 3 cats and 2 dogs. Jim and his entire family are very honest and gracious people. The only drawback was the Feb weather in Morganton,NC but it was expected . Enjoy his hospitality .
Granny's house has the southern charm as one would expect. The proprietors Jim and Barbara were absolutely the kindest couple I have met in years. They held my hand and guided me through the property explaining where things were and about the homestead. I felt completely at home the entire stay. They were kind enough to bring groceries which was such a kind gesture. The house is dated but very clean. I met the housekeeper on my last day at checkout and she is as charming as the owners. Truly a decent stay :)
The owners met us and led us to the house so that they could show us around and explain heat systems and such. Place was very clean and every amenity imaginable was available. We were able to take our two dogs and they liked the country walks around the back acreage. We prepared our Thanksgiving meal, and just enjoyed being there. We were looking for a quiet get away to create new holiday memories, and it was perfect for what we wanted and needed. The owners bent over backwards for us and even called to check on us after we had a strong rain and sleet storm while we were there, which temporarily cut our power during one night. The house was their family's, and it just felt like being at Grandma's. We will go back.
Nice family who shares their house filled with love, family memories and history. We enjoyed our stay and appreciate their hospitality. Our dogs loved it!
This cute little bungalow was a great shelter for my family and our three standard poodles during Hurricane Florence. It was an easy trip to the main shopping areas and the owners provided some start-up food as well. The Dollar General store just a block away was also convenient. The wyfi was strong and the cable tv had no interruptions.
The owners were so flexible and we were able to begin earlier and stay longer! They were so sweet to work with.
I am an audio engineer living in Nashville, Tennessee. My mom and dad (Jim and Barbara Oliver) live in North Carolina about 15 minutes from the property and take care of managing it. I handle the internet side of Granny's Place.
