CASA FUNDA est une grande villa elegante avec piscine privee situee sur 6000m carres de terres avec des oliviers, palmiers, carobiers et bougainvillea. Il y a 5 chambres, toutes climatisees (avec un surcharge si sur-utilise) dont une est un enorme studio au premier etage (avec entree separee mais attache a la maison) avec deuxieme cuisine et salle de bain. Casa Funda a un tres grand salon avec TV satellite, doubles portes qui donnent sur une terrace et la piscine, enorme salle a manger aussi avec des portes qui donnent sur terrasse et piscine, cuisine avec nouvelle machine a vaisselle, etc.,'master bedroom' avec un grand lit et salle de bain privee, deuxieme chambre avec deux lits simples, troisieme chambre avec deux lits simples et quatrieme chambre de famille avec un lit double et un lit simple. Il ya une grande salle de douche qui lie ces dernieres deux chambres. En plus il ya une troisieme salle de douche et toilettes. Dans le studio il y a trois lits simples.

The villa is Fantastic, Traditional, homely and classy. The pool, BBQ area and veranda were ideal and close to great local restaurants and shops plus the beautiful Tavira. Would highly recommend for a Family Holiday, we would definitely come back. special mention for Elsa and Hugo who gave us a lovely warm welcome after a long days travel and some great advice on where to eat and visit.

We recently concluded our 20-day stay at Casa Funda, and I wanted to take a moment to express our sincere gratitude for the hospitality and support provided by Elsa and her husband, and the owner Mrs Uschi Our time in Tavira was delightful, and despite the heat, we thoroughly enjoyed the town, the nights and the beautiful surroundings with our three small dogs. The visits to Vila Real of Santo Antonio nearby were also mesmerizing! Our experience was overall very positive, and I recommend this lovely home for future travelers with dogs !

Perfect (big) Family Villa in the Algarve

We just returned from a lovely week at Casa Funda and had a wonderful stay. This villa was perfect for our family holiday in the Algarve. The house is very spacious, spotlessly clean, and well equipped with everything you could possibly need. The outdoor area is beautiful, the pool is great, and there are plenty of comfortable spots to relax, whether you prefer sun or shade.Communication with the owner was fast and accurate throughout our booking process. Our hosts were extremely helpful and friendly, making check-in easy and giving us excellent recommendations for local restaurants and beaches. The location is very convenient, just a short drive to Tavira and several stunning beaches, with good shops and restaurants nearby.Quick tip: the best supermarket in the area is Pingo Doce Tavira.A couple of practical notes: you can sometimes hear the highway when outside (it's about 600 meters away), but it never bothered us—the villa still felt peaceful and private. Also, the exact location is a bit different from what is shown on VRBO, but it is still perfectly placed for exploring the region.Casa Funda is ideal for families or groups looking for comfort, privacy, and a true Algarve experience. Highly recommended!

Authentic Algarve experience

The villa is lovely. We especially enjoyed the pool area, the quiet, and being surrounded by nature. It is close enough to Tavira (a 5 minute drive) so it's also easy to visit the surrounding beaches. We were also happy with the facilities: there is plenty of area, 2 nice barbecues, the kitchen is well equipped, the A/C works well in all rooms, and we could find everything we needed within the house. The kids also loved the entertainment available. The host, Ursula, was kind and helpful, provided all the support, and was very open to feedback.

Casa Funda - August 2023

We had an enjoyable 2 weeks staying at Casa Funda. We were 2 families and there was plenty of room. It was lovely having the pool and suited all age groups as there were great steps in the shallow end but also the deep end was deep enough for diving and jumping in. As the weather was so hot we’d often go in to Tavira (short drive from the villa) in the morning when it was cooler and then spend the afternoon in the pool or relaxing on the sun loungers. We also caught the ferry from Tavira to the beach which was great fun, especially the day there were more waves! The villa also has a second Terrace which was lovely as it was often more shady. The outside of the property is very nicely landscaped. As the weather was so hot it was a relief to have air conditioning in the bedrooms. We have definitely come home feeling very relaxed.

As a positive aspect, I would highlight the couple who checked us in and the garden, which was well-maintained.Everything else was absolutely terrible (we only slept there one night; we went to a hotel for the other nights). The photos are scarce, and the house is much more cluttered and old than they show. Things are piled up.Only the bedrooms have air conditioning, which isn't clear in the description. We were then overwhelmed with a set of unusual rules and warnings. For example, what to do if the water supply ran out, which suggested it was a common problem in the Algarve. It's not, and despite not sleeping there, on the second day, there was no water (rapidly solved). Additionally, we were warned that we would be charged an extra fee if we used the air conditioning too much.Kitchen: The washing machine is old, with a broken handle, and the bottom tray doesn't fit. The cutlery drawer is difficult to open, and when you finally manage, all the utensils are mismatched. There were dirty plates and cobwebs in the cupboard near the pans.The bedroom closets were full of clutter, making it practically impossible to put away our clothes. The drawers were also full of junk; it seemed like the owners had stuffed everything in there just to get it out of sight.We were also not warned about the presence of resident cats and the constant noise from the neighbors dogs.The rating this house has is impossible, and it was the first and certainly the last one we'll rent via VRBO

Dear Duarte I am sorry that you felt the need to write such vitriolic comments. The "piled up things" in the bedroom wardrobes are duvets and extra pillows for the comfort of my guests. Each wardrobe, in each of the bedrooms, has space for at least 20 hangers in it. Dogs in Mediterranean countries are generally kept outside in non-urban areas. Yes, they bark at night. The two cats are feral. I have had them caught and neutered so we do not get a "colony." I cannot stop the majority of my guests enjoying leaving food for them outside. The cleaner CLEANS. She does not have the time to go through the cutlery drawers to see if previous guests have put all the matching stuff in the right place. I assure you, there is a complete set of 10 of everything and invite you to return when I am there from the end of this week and check for yourself. I cannot excuse a dirty plate in the cupboard and wish you had mentioned this to Hugo or Elsa. We would happily have had the cleaner return to wash it to your satisfaction. Re: the air conditionning, my notes clearly said that only two lots of guests in the years of renting had to pay extra. I realise English is a second language for you and perhaps I should have been clearer. A lawyer should be aware that complaints should have been lodged with Elsa or Hugo in advance so that they could have been corrected, thus avoiding defamation.

Mooi domein met veel subtropische aanplantingen: bomen, struiken en bloemen. Grote terrassen. Zalig aan het zwembad. Comfortabel en gezellig huis. Goed geëquipeerd: groot gasvuur met oven, 2 grote koelkasten met vriesvak. Goed bereikbaar. Op 10’ van Tavira.

Sehr schön.....

Wir waren eine Woche mit der Familie in der Casa Funda und wir hatten eine sehr schöne Zeit. Es war alles wunderbar organisiert und das Haus ist perfekt für größere Familien oder Freunde. Elsa und Hugo haben uns wunderbar empfangen, obwohl wir sehr spät angekommen sind. Vielen Dank dafür. Tavira und der wunderschöne Strand ist ein Traum und in kürzester Zeit mit dem Auto zu erreichen. Auch die Supermärkte sind nur wenige Autominuten entfernt. Es war ein gelungener Urlaub

Achamos uma casa acima da nossa expectativa, muito espaçosa, bem equipada, com um grande jardim e terreno a volta e claro a piscina com zonas de sombra apreciáveis. Cada um de nós encontrou o seu espaço para sua tranquilidade e descanso. Een goed ruim en functioneel huis op een rustige locatie als een goed uitvalspunt

De woning is zeer ruim. Het is van alle voorzieningen voorzien en zeer functioneel. Het huis op zelf is wat gedateerd. Een mooi groot zwembad erbij met veel ruimte eromheen. De locatie is aan een stille weg op een comfortabele 5 km van Tavira vandaan. Ondanks dat de snelweg niet ver vandaan is heb je daar geen enkele last van. Het is een prima uitvalbasis om ook dagtripjes te maken zoals naar Sevilla in Spanje of de Algarve zelf verder ontdekken. De stranden zijn op 15 minuten afstand, echter de beroemde baaitjes, waar de Algarve om bekend is, is minimaal op 45 minuten afstand. Verder is Tavira een leuk stadje waar je 's avonds een zeer ruime keuze hebt uit restaurants met een gezellige sfeer. Wij hebben er met ons gezin 18 dagen door gebracht en wij hebben een uitstekende vakantie gehad.

wonderful holiday in a lovely home

Passámos uns dias maravilhosos nesta casa. Espaço muito agradável para descanso e total isolamento, numa zona calma de Tavira. A área exterior é muito grande e a piscina é muito boa, foi onde passámos grande parte do tempo. A casa é ampla, acolhedora e tem tudo o que precisamos, ideal para grupos grandes. Só é pena a TV não ter canais portugueses.

O local ideal para umas excelentes férias em família

Escolhemos a Casa Funda para as férias de Verão em família e passámos uns dias memoráveis. A casa tem todas as comodidades e espaço suficiente para uma família alargada que quer passar uns dias em conjunto mas com a devida privacidade. O quarto dos avós localizava-se numa das alas da casa, com a respectiva casa-de-banho, enquanto pais e filha ficaram na ala oposta, também com uma suite e um quarto com duas camas de solteiro logo em frente. Há mais um quarto que não chegámos a usar e um apartamento anexo totalmente mobilado, com três camas de solteiro. Além de uma terceira casa-de-banho na casa principal, que usávamos como apoio à piscina. A piscina é óptima e foi onde passámos a maior parte do tempo. A casa tem duas zonas de barbecue e mesas, cadeiras e espreguiçadeiras suficientes para família e amigos. A nossa cadela também nos acompanhou e encontra-se, de momento, a sofrer de depressão pós-férias sem querer aceitar que está de volta a um apartamento na cidade. Foram, sem dúvida, umas férias excelentes numa propriedade 5 estrelas!

Super séjour !!

Nous étions 10 et sommes restés 15 jours à la Casa Funda. Tout d’abord je tiens à remercier chaleureusement Ursula pour sa disponibilité et sa bienveillance à tous les égards. Rarement vu une propriétaire aussi attentionnée avec ses locataires. La maison est très bien équipée. La cuisine regorge de pleins d'ustensiles, plats divers, et électroménagers. Il y a un. super piano de cuisine, très appréciable quand on est nombreux. Les chambres sont climatisées, il y a 4 salles de bain intégrant chacune des wc. La piscine est grande. La maison dispose de 2 terrasses ensoleillées, nous n’en avons utilisé qu’une seule, celle donnant sur la piscine car plus conviviale avec la vue sur la piscine et donc sur les enfants ! La maison est située à environ 6 min de Tavira, ce qui est top ! Il vous faut par contre une voiture pour vous déplacer car il n’y a rien à pieds. A noter tout de même la proximité de l’A22 que l’on entend tout de même, mais Cela passe vite au second plan avec la musique et l’amusement qui régnait dans la maison. Je recommande vivement cette maison spacieuse où chacun trouve sa place et peut vaquer librement à ses occupations sans gêner ses co-locataires.

Wonderfully equipped, comfortable house. Very good base for visiting the Portuguese coast.

We were at Casa Funda with a group of friends. The house is perfect. Comfortable, spacious, well-equipped. There is nothing missing. A beautiful large garden with manicured plants and a wonderful, large swimming pool, which is a relaxation on hot days. We spent a great Portuguese holiday.

Spacy and cosy house with a fantastic pool

We spend an amazing week in Casa Funda, We got the key as agreed wich also included a brief introduction for the house and as a surprice we got a bottle of wine and water. The house was clean and full equiped. We can highly recommend this beautifull house.

Spacious and peaceful

We stayed at this lovely villa for an idyllic week. The owner, Ursula is lovely, she was very helpful and she happily answered my barrage of questions! The villa is very spacious - plenty of room for everyone. The photos don't do it justice. Both the villa and studio were much bigger than we expected and ideal for our extended family. The pool is very big with plenty of sun beds and cushions. There is a lovely shady spot under the trees where I spent hours reading! There are two separate outside eating areas- both with BBQ's- one by the pool and one at the back of the property, both with plenty of seating. There is a large dining room inside which we didn't use but would be great for the colder months. The beds were comfy, bathrooms spacious and the property was spotlessly clean. We didn't use the aircon much but it was there for when we needed it. The location is great, very peaceful and has a feeling of being remote but within minutes you are on the main road. A car is essential as nothing is in walking distance everything you need is in easy reach by car and taxis to Tavira are easy to book. Tavira is beautiful and Tavira Island is well worth a trip. We had a lovely holiday

Beautiful clean and spacious accomodation in a peaceful environment with a great pool.

Casa Funda was all and more than the reviews stated. The accommodation was fantastic, plenty of room for two extended families catering for 6 adults 3 young adults and 4 teenagers. They was plenty of games and books on hand to keep everyone entertained. The pool was big and deep enough to allow for a family game of water polo/basketball. It was a peaceful environment but close enough to the town of Tavira, although you do need a car. Taxi from Tavira was only €8. Pego Do Inferno was only 5-10 mins away and was a big hit with all ages. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.

Lovely house, great pool

Casa Funda - fantastic holiday

We loved Casa Funda - it is very spacious indeed with the bedrooms handily spread out, which worked really well for our two parties. It is extremely well equipped with all manner of things, from board games to barbeque utensils, which was ideal with children. We especially liked the large pool which was big enough to accommodate 9 easily. Because it's nicely detached we didn't have to worry about noise from the children which was perfect. The villa is near Tavira (5/10 min drive) but is far enough away to be quiet and secluded - we found it an ideal location. Tavira itself is a beautiful, unspoilt town with lots of restaurants/cafes. The beach which you reach by train (Ilha de Tavira I think) was very crowded and the waves were so big it wasn't really possible for children to swim - a bit disappointing. However if you travel west you can find beaches where the waves are much smaller, so this wasn't a problem really. i would really recommend Casa Funda, especially if you have a large group. Ursula was quick to respond to any queries and couldn't have been more helpful. We were very sad to leave! Fi Douglas

Mon mari, moi et notre fils avons loue cette villa en 2008, en sommes tombes amoureux et l'avons ensuite achetee. Mon mari, decede subitement en 2012, était avocat anglais. Je suis d'origine hongroise et allemande, nee a New York mais en Angleterre depuis 25 ans. Je parle anglais, français et allemand. Mon fils a maintenant termine ses etudes universitaires et travaille a Londres, dans la "City." Nous avions un cocker adore qui est mort l'année derniers. Maintenant j'ai un labrador a trois pattes également adore....

Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?

Having spent a week in this house on a 'last minute.com' type holiday, we so loved the house that we decided to buy it. It is generous, spacious and had, and hopefully has, a happy feel to it. It IS a family home. It is also ideally located for Tavira and the beach. The nearby A22 has advantages and disadvantages: Advantages are that you can get to Seville in an hour and 40 minutes, or Lisbon in just over two hours and the disadvantages are that when the wind blows the wrong way you can hear the motorway traffic.

Quels sont les atouts de cet hébergement ?

Its greatest benefit, and why we fell in love with it, is its design: there is a very large, generous drawing room AND dining room, with the bedrooms off these rooms on either side. In addition there is the separate, but attached, studio flat. So three families can be there without falling on top of each other. The two huge terraces create a feeling of privacy and allow the non-pool addicts to escape from the noise!

We have always had a 5 star rating. One reviewer loved the house and gave it a 1, thinking that was the highest honour. Unfortunately she misunderstood the rating system, and her 1 instead of 5 reduced our average to 4.7 (if you read the reviews you will see!)
