Wasps inside when arrived. Killed 7 with a fly swatter. No hot water in shower at night or in morning after leaving it run for 20 min. Bought wasp/hornet spray. Location should be explained in description of place. Very remote and down a dirt road. May not be a good place for single people. Asked for a 1 night refund due to wasps and hot water, was denied. (Crappy way to treat customers, since our daughter lives in Huntsville and we'll be back 2x /yr.)Should have checked place same day before anyones arrival. Hard to miss the wasps! Sk
Staying in a one room school was an interesting experience. I wish we had had more time to explore the immediate area but we were too busy trying to take in so many of the sights nearby. We visited Terra Studios near Elkins. Crystal Bridges, War Eagle Mill, and Eureka Springs. Harrison is a good central location so maybe next time we can explore to the east for some more lovely parts of Arkansas.
This is a beautiful, historic property! Keith, the owner, has done a fantastic job of renovating an 1891 school house into an amazing vacation rental. This place has everything you need to stay however long you want to; fully equipped kitchen with a gas stove, nice shower with no trouble getting and keeping hot water, washer and dryer, microwave, deck, small grill...awesome! It was cloudy when we were there, but this would be a wonderful spot to enjoy the stars while sitting on the deck. We also enjoyed the historical books in the living room area. There are dates and pictures and copies of teacher registers back to 1915. So cool! Really, I can't say enough good things about this place. We loved it!
The one-room schoolhouse was a perfect base from which to explore the surrounding Ozark trails and views. Halfway between the Buffalo National Senic River and cool Eureka Springs.
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our time at this unique historic schoolhouse. The owner provided everything we could possibly require and the property was exactly as described in the listing. The schoolhouse was central to all of the activities that we wanted to do and a peaceful place for some rest and relaxation. We enjoyed having dinner and watching the fireflies from the spacious front porch and taking evening walks along the tree lined country roads. Mr. Keith was a gracious host and we felt so welcome. Highly recommend!
Property with lots of history and in the middle of absolute nowhere! It seemed like we could see every star in the sky. Great getaway with Buffalo River trails and elk sightings nearby. Local eatery in Kingston was great. Great to get away from Tv and social media for a few days.
It was an amazing get away to unwind and unplug. The school house is exactly how it's advertised, clean, cozy and quaint. Keith was friendly and a great host. We hope to return in the future. Huntsville is a charming small town and worth checking out. Lots of hiking close by.
The host was very accommodating. When we told him we were having a.c issues he fixed immediately. The property has so much history in it. The location was great, so quiet & serene .
This was most definitely better than staying at some expensive hotel. It was quiet, private, and quaint. All we had to bring were our clothes and a few groceries. It was absolutely perfect and romantic and we will be booking again when close to that area. Couldnât have asked for anything more! The host, Keith, was precious and accommodating! The best!
We loved staying at this old schoolhouse. Kitchen was just right to make our meals. Heaters kept us warm on the chilly nights. Star gazing was amazing! Keith is a great host. 25 minutes to get to the Buffalo National River area and enjoyed several hiking trails. As a former school teacher it was a fun experience!
We loved the little school house. It was one of the cleanest places we have ever stayed at. The night sky was amazing and it was very quiet and peaceful. We enjoyed watching the cattle in the field beside it. We will definitely stay there again.
We had an amazing time, it was everything as advertised. Beautiful scenery a ton of wildlife to see, very quiet and an extremely comfortable bed. Completely enjoyed ourselves.
Very unique property. Renovated OLD Schoolhouse. Very quaint and quiet. loved the deck where you could watch the stars...sooooo many stars lol. I know there aren't more stars in the country, but you can certainly see more of them at night here! We were on our 1st year anniversary and had a fabulous time!
Staying at the Ribbon Ridge Schoolhouse is a unique experience. You are truly off the grid and deep into the Ozarks. This historic site is well preserved and it was fun staying in what used to be an 1800s one room school house. After my stay, I discovered that a distant relative had been a teacher there in 1903!
