Dunellen has much to offer. Established in 1887, Dunellen is one square mile nestled in the
North-Western part of Middlesex County. It is conveniently located between New York City and
Philadelphia and is just a short trip from the Jersey Shore. It has quick and easy access to many major highways and NJ TRANSIT routes. It boasts an impressive selection of diverse retail shops and
restaurants, many of which are family-owned, forming a distinct and attractive fabric for our historic downtown. We have great public education, a variety of community programs, five parks, and quiet and safe neighborhoods. It is no wonder that over 7,500 people call Dunellen home and many more visit to shop and dine in our downtown.
Over the past several years, the Borough of Dunellen has been seeing a revitalization in our
downtown and its immediate surrounding area. We have a number of recently completed or approved redevelopment projects that will bring additional transit-oriented residents to our Borough. As these developments continue to improve the frontage of our downtown, more people will want to shop in our business district, and therefore, benefit our small retailers, and positively affect all property values throughout Dunellen and boost our local economy. As a prospective resident of Dunellen, there are many ways to be involved in our great community, and you too can be an active voice that shapes the future of our Miracle Mile.
