POURQUOI RESTER DANS CE QUARTIER? Sécurité, pas de crime! Arabi est à St. Paroisse de Bernard (comté). Arabi a une application de la loi supérieure qui ne tolère pas le crime. Lorsque vous restez à Arabi, vous pouvez aller profiter de toutes les choses amusantes que la Nouvelle-Orléans a à offrir, mais vous retournez dormir à Arabi sans aucun souci de quelqu'un s'introduisant par effraction dans votre maison ou votre voiture. De plus, vous pouvez marcher en toute sécurité dans les rues la nuit dans ce quartier. Ne prends pas de chance. Passez des vacances sans crime en séjournant dans cette maison!

Belle maison de 4 chambres, 3 salles de bain située à quelques pâtés de maisons de la ligne de la Nouvelle-Orléans dans le vieux Arabi historique. La maison est sur un grand terrain d'angle qui offre beaucoup de stationnement gratuit. En plus d'être à 4 miles du quartier français, c'est aussi proche d'une rampe de mise à l'eau qui offre la meilleure pêche du pays. Alors restez quelques jours supplémentaires et apportez votre bateau ou louez un guide de pêche. C'est le quartier le plus sûr de la ville! Contrairement à la Nouvelle-Orléans, nous avons beaucoup de policiers à Arabi et ils ne tolèrent pas qu'un radeau de sauvetage vienne ici pour commettre des crimes. Arabi est dans la paroisse de St. Bernard (comté). Ma femme et moi aimons la Nouvelle-Orléans. Nous avons nos restaurants et endroits préférés à visiter à la Nouvelle-Orléans, mais nous aimons venir chez nous à St. Bernard Parish pour dormir en toute sécurité la nuit en toute tranquillité.

Notez également que pour être à 3 miles (10 minutes en voiture) du quartier français, les tarifs sont 1/3 de ce qu'une maison de même taille serait proche du quartier.

Wonderful location in a great neighborhood!

We were 15 minutes from downtown New Orleans. The house was quite charming with beautiful floors and plenty of space for the 5 of us. Definitely exceeded our expectations!

Enjoyable Experience

Our family enjoyed the space this house had for everyone to be together. The large dining table made a wonderful gathering place for meals and board games. The home is conveniently located to downtown New Orleans which was very helpful, and it has great parking. We had a really enjoyable experience.

Great property

First off, this trip was off the hook for my group. The house is big, the neighborhood quiet, and not far from the FQ. It was super clean, all bathrooms had plenty of towels. Beds were quite comfy with clean linens. We made do in the kitchen with what was there. Larry was more than accomdating as a host. 5 stars all around!

What a perfect place for the 7 of us to come together from Florida, Colorado and Iowa to celebrate our birthdays! The house is lovely and spacious and the neighborhood is clean and quiet. We could make short trips to the airport, the grocery store, beignet run, across the lake, the garden district and the zoo!

We had a blast! The house is beautiful. The location is beautiful. Mr. Larry is nothing but amazing. He was always available when we needed him. There was even a play pen for my 1 yr old. We felt at home. Would definitely stay here again.

Girls Trip for Mardi Gras

The property is clean and safe and worked well for the five of us. It happened to be cold during our stay and it was hard to heat the house up. All the heat went to the upstairs master bedroom while the rest of the house was still quite cold. But we enjoyed it overall and the property had everything g we needed. Great location, too!

I have adjusted the damper to allow more flow from the downstairs vents. This should correct that. We do not get that many cold days down here. Thank you for letting me know. I live near by. I would have adjusted the vent while you were there.

Nice but a little outdated

The house was nice but a bit outdated. The porch was dark coming and going as the motion light does turn on until you are right at the door and the sliding doors need blinds as anyone can see in at night while we were in the living area. The basement bathroom had a weird step down and one of our group fell. Suggestions would be to put up blinds and put someone on that step to show it’s there for safety

Nice neighborhood with plenty of room!

I came to New Orleans with my friends for my bachelorette party. This house was plenty big for the 9 of us who went! We did have some uber drivers tell us we weren’t in a great area but we had no problems whatsoever over the course of our 5 day stay. There was a walmart fairly close by so we were able to get some snacks, drinks, sandwich items, etc to have for when we weren’t eating out. The only con I can really think of is the distance to the French Quarter. We didn’t think it would be as big of a deal but having to to take uber/lyft everytime we wanted to go did add up, especially since we had to take 2 cars due to the size of the group. Overall, great stay and wonderful house!

The house is located in Arabi, LA. It's a couple of blocks from New Orleans and 3 miles to the French Quarter. New Orleans and Arabi are divided by the Army National Guard (Jackson Barracks). There are only two roads that pass through Jackson Barracks into Arabi. Arabi is protected by it's own large sheriff's department. The sheriff's department in Arabi does not allow any of the riff raft that comes from New Orleans. Arabi is not an easy target and the criminals know this. That is why they stay out. When looking at the FBI National Crime map, New Orleans is riddled with crime markers, but Arabi almost has none. I am not exaggerating when I say Arabi is clearly the safest place in the New Orleans area. In Arabi you can walk the streets at night as well as day time without worry. It's like living in a gated community. My property is priced low compared to the French Quarter properties, which makes taking a taxi back and forth more affordable. There is no price on safety. My November guest know this. Thank you so much for staying in my home.

Perfect location for our trip to NOLA

We loved our time in NOLA- being able to stay in a home that was close to the French Quarter but not too close was awesome. What made us choose this home was the dining room, kitchen, and living room areas that were larger than most other homes I considered. We spent most of our time together as a family so these areas were perfect. (Except the couch needs to be retired. Great size but sinking in in some spots) Larry was a great host who responded quickly to any questions I had before trip and during trip. If you plan to do a lot of cooking, you need to bring some of your own cookware bc this was lacking - plenty of dishes and silverware- but not enough pans or large enough frying pans or casserole dishes to cook for many people. There was a rice cooker so this made our Cuban family very happy but no measuring cups or mixing bowls. Like others have said, the jome needs a little TLC - But overall we were very happy with our stay in this home.

Property was nice but we had some issues.

We stayed from Sunday to Saturday. On Tuesday morning, one of our kids noticed the floor in the down stairs hallway was wet. I didn't think too much about it, thinking one of our kids may have had the shower curtain outside of the tub. We came back from day out and my kids then noticed water coming up through the floor. I texted the owner and he had his son come over and found the A/C drain pipe was clogged. That didn't bother me too much since I am a landlord as well. My daughter also complained of some bites that she got and we thought it may have been mosquito bites. On Friday morning we found bed bugs in her bed. We did not see them until Friday. We notified the owner again but he did not say anything back to me or do anything on this issue. She was in the bedroom at the end of the hallway. So I want to warn people to check the beds before allowing anyone sleep in this room.

The guest notified me the day he was leaving of the bedbug problem in the back room. I took him very serious. Although I could not find any bugs, I called a professional exterminator who treated the problem. Also, I threw out the old beds that were about 2 years old and purchased new beds. My house is on a regular treatment plan with the exterminator. I have had two different guest stay there since then without any incident. I feel that this problem is resolved and will continue to monitor it and make sure that my guest have a nice place to stay without any issues.

Nice location, needs maintenance

Pros: - Plenty of space for our group - We were able to park two cars off the street - Easy to load and unload the cars through the patio door - Having 3 full bathrooms was nice - Generally a quiet neighborhood - An easy drive to downtown New Orleans - Nice big dining room table - Fans for each bedroom helped to even out the temperatures in the house - Lots of bath towels (but no dish towels) - Good internet access - The kids liked the smart TVs in the bedrooms and took full advantage of them to watch YouTube Cons: - Kitchen not well apportioned, don't plan on cooking much. We didn't even have enough plates for the 8 people we booked the place for. There wasn't even a can opener, there were 3 corkscrews though, so I guess it depends on your priorities... - Many of the kitchen items were dingy/dirty looking, so we bought some scrubbies and washed everything before using it. - Check-in information wasn't provided on the website, we had to ask for it a couple of times. - There wasn't an information book like we are used to having when we checked in. We had to ask for the WiFi information. - The place could use some maintenance. The screen on the porch was torn in many places and several lights in the house didn't work. - The couch was a bit difficult for my parents to get up out of as it was rather low.

Screens on porch were blown out from last hurricane. We have replaced all screens. We have restocked the kitchen. Wifi info that is usually on a booklet by the TV was missing, is now there.

All was good except for the neighbor

Property was as described. Could use some attention cosmetically but you can see efforts have been made to update property. It was unfortunate we could not open the curtains facing the neighbors yard because it was such an eye sore. The neighbor constantly yelled at her dogs swearing at them and threatening to break their necks. On one o’clock I witnessed her throw the dog away from her because it was crying in distress because it was all tangled up. She kept referring to someone the house as a crack head. When we were in the front yard she was encouraging one of the dogs to leave the yard and not come back. She asked us if we wanted it because she was done with him. Very sad. I wish I could have taken him home. On the plus side the house was as described and fit our needs. Some rooms were smaller than we thought and we couldn’t put our suitcases in the room because there wasn’t any room. Unfortunately not all rooms had closets. The house was clean and when we had an issue with a faucet someone came over immediately to fix it. He was very nice. The landlord was responsive to our texts and very pleasant on the phone. I would rent a different property from him if we need to in the future. It is unfortunate about the neighbor but that’s not his fault. Besides the neighbor everything was fine.

Perfect for our big family

We loved this home while we enjoyed time with family. It was big enough for our whole family and significant others. There was plenty of space for the kids to run around and every main room was large enough for everyone to be in at once. The kids enjoyed chasing the lizards in the yard:)

Good Find!

This is an older home, but it was still very nice. There was 10 of us and we loved the spread-out space. Three full baths made it easy for us to get ready for the day. We loved the little store /restaurant just a few blocks away.... we walked and the food was amazing. Nice area to sit outside screened in and another area not. If I had to make suggestions it would be for more cookware in the kitchen... such as pizza pan, we purchased a pizza cutter and left there. Maybe a pitched to make teas or drinks, blender. Dish towels..... but nothing we just couldn't do without...... We would/ will rent again!

Safe neighborhood

The house was alright. Large and fit everyone. The Arabi food store a block away was amazing for breakfast and lunch! The host was extremely accommodating and communicative. 2 of the beds in the lower part of the house were a little uncomfortable. Better for kids then adults. The other rooms were spacious and nice hot showers. The outdoor fenced in seating area was nice for morning coffee. There’s a cute grocery store close by and a Walmart.
