This is a perfect space for a couple looking to experience all Newport has to offer! It had all the amenities we could need and the details were impeccable! Would definitely stay again :)
We had an absolutely fantastic stay at this property and were thoroughly impressed from start to finish. Everything was spotless and beautifully refined â clearly a lot of care goes into maintaining the space. We truly appreciated the attention to detail and cleanliness. Highly recommended!
Conveniently located to great restaurants and bars. The hosts are located right on the property in case of any issues. Clean, beautifully decorated. We are repeat stayers here!
The owners were very accommodating and gave great suggestions for places to eat. The check-in and out was very easy. The house was very quiet and we just loved our seaside suite! It had everything we needed except ice. But James brought us a baggie of ice when we asked. It isnât in the heart of the town but it is walkable if you are in decent shape. We walked most everywhere and used the free hop on bus which was a lifesaver! We ate at The Hungry Monkey for breakfast and it was great! The Mooring was great for dinner but make sure you get reservations. Itâs on the water. Cold fusion was a delicious gelato place. It was a great trip and I would recommend you go!
Enjoyed our stay a lot! Big bied with a small sitting room gave us, a couple in town for a wedding, a great experience. Place was close to town and easily walkable to downtown.

Clean Space, But Stay Fell Short
The room was clean, nicely decorated, and generally as described, but my stay was negatively impacted by several issues. There was no indication in the listing that the hosts live on the property. After I arrived, they informed me that their two-year-old grandchild would be stayingâdespite the listing specifically stating that the property is for adults only. I was told I might hear âthe pitter-patter of little feet,â was sent a photo of the child, and informed that the family was visiting to celebrate the memorial of Jesusâ death.I was woken at 7 a.m. two mornings in a row by the child running around. While the host initially acknowledged the issue, they ignored my follow-up messages. When I raised concerns and requested some form of compensation, they declined to offer anything beyond an apologyâand later refused to refund any money when I submitted the request both to them directly and through VRBO. I became very uncomfortable staying in the space. The place is small, and the neighborhood was just okay. Iâve lived in cities like Brooklyn, and I didnât feel especially comfortable walking alone in this part of town. They charge for early check-in, and there was an envelope requesting a housekeeping tip despite already charging a cleaning fee. The bathroom sink also didnât drain properly. I also donât believe the blankets are washed between guests, based on the departure instructions.Iâm a landlord myself, and this is never how I would trea
This VRBO is in the perfect location. We walked everywhere, well, except the mansions. That was a short drive. Great breakfast places just two blocks away. The hosts were great. The room has a very comfortable king bed and small sitting area. We hope to return on another visit to New England.
Our hosts did a magnificent job of describing their place and its location. It was exactly as advertised and all the necessary information was provided making our stay seamless. They did a great job of making use of every inch of space while still offering a quaint and artistic coastal New England/Newport vibe. It was an easy walk to the wharves and tons of shops and restaurants. 10/10 would stay again. One thing to note is it is located in a house where other people live so there is some associated "noise of living". We used a sound machine for sleeping and had no problems even with the windows open.
The owners truly thought about every possible comfort. From the beds and pillows to the coffee creamer in the refrigerator. Walkable to good restaurants and many attractions. The only downside is that the walls to the home are thin and sound travels through the floor so even when people above arenât stomping, it sounds like they are. Despite this, we would stay again because it is otherwise perfect.
Loved the decor and enjoyed parking the car and walking everywhere. Very thoughtful amenities. Ate at the the Hungry Monkey every morning.
Also the bed was comfortable, a plus.
I'd stay there again
My wife and I are on a quest to have a date in all 50 states while one of us is 50. We were excited to mark our halfway point in Newport and bed down at The Seaside Retreat. We love Newport's charm, hospitality, and vibe. Our accommodations grew our love for all things Newport! Nestled along the narrow one-way streets that crisscross the city, it was ideally located only a short walk from dining, shopping, and the energy of the waterfront. The intimate space was beautifully maintained and immaculately decorated. The communication prior to and during our was pleasant, friendly, and prompt. It is an excellent place to spend a few nights in a fantastic city.
This was a cute little quaint place just enough for 2 people. The hosts were wonderful and the room was very clean and had everything we needed. Just a short walk to Thames St, the water and all the great restaurants, bars and shops. Would definitely recommend it!
I stayed here during the Newport Folk Festival and overall found it to be clean, and comfortable with easy access to the water taxi to Fort Adams and restaurants and the Jane Pickens Theater. The hosts were really kind and helped me get my large suitcase up the very steep steps to the suite. There isnât a kitchen but there is a fridge for basics, like breakfast items and snacks. The bed is comfortable, though I didnât spend much time sleeping as it turns out with after showâs running late.
Cons: very steep flight of stairs to the second floor. Might be challenging to someone with mobility issues. Also, itâs unfortunately rather noisy. The walls are thin. The people in the suite next door were very early risersâŠsometimes at 5:00 a.m. They also had a young child and running feet (normal for a child that age) on hardwood floors meant when he or she was up, there was no getting back to sleep. Also, a/c seemed marginal. It was a small window unit, which cooled the bedroom well, but not the bathroom or sitting area.
Very clean and pretty VRBO - off street parking was a great find in Newport. The check in process was easy and we received great info from the owners prior to check in regarding restaurants. Once we parked our car, we were able to walk anywhere we wanted to go. We highly recommend this property.
Location was great for getting on the free shuttle, shopping and wharf . Apartment was clean with many amenities for beach . Would stay again when in the area.
