I booked this place in November for a 3-day show. When I arrived, I still didn't have entry code and no one on the property. I contacted the host, before I headed over and let him know I still didnt have a code to get in. When I turned the corner to this place, I immediately knew it wasnt a very good area, and watched people walk by checking out my Uhaul rental. Got there still no response. Contacted VRBO through the suppost chat, told them of the situation, they showed me the booking and I asked how was I supposed to get in, they disabled chat. The host then contacts me saying he just received my reservation 5 minutes ago. I was already sitting there for almost an hour. The host informed me he saw me pull my van in, not a word, didnt come by...just watched me sit in the driveway, then called me sir, and proceeded to call me a liar! I was lucky enough to find a wonderful place about 2 miles away with no help from VRBO or the host of the property...all he said was, well you can leave! I already did, because this didnt feel like a safe place and the rudeness of the host...No way I wouldve stayed there! Worst VRBO expierence ever!!!
I think I was scammed. I never got a response for check in. An hour before, I got a call from management company. Apparently, water problem. I think it was realized that the rate was too low for this weekend and took a better offer off of the vrbo site. I had to get a last minute hotel after getting off a plane at a rate of $500 per night. I will be talking to someone at both Expedia and Verbo. Iâm beyond disgusted!!
