Chic 2-bedroom in center of Lincoln Park/Depaul/Wrigley + Parking
Chic garden unit in the heart of Chicago's popular Lincoln Park. Steps to public trains that will take you all over Chicago (including Grant Park, Museums, Wrigley field, Michigan Ave etc). Lincoln park is home to tons of chic cafes, shopping, world renown restaurants (Chicago's only Michelin rated 3 star restaurant; Alinea) and Depaul University. Just added 55inch TV with smart capabilities (Netflix, Amazon.etc). Complete with WIFI, central AC, fully stocked bathroom and free parking!
The property was extremely unclean and had a bug problem - we killed multiple bugs between the bathroom and the living room daily. The living room couch had a stain on it that smelled like pee. The bathroom itself was disgusting as there was hair from previous people on the mat, and the shower curtain had mold on it. The bedding was old and had stains on it as well. A great location no doubt, but cleanliness gets a 0/10.
Great place overall, location was superb and the place itself was nice. The train from the Armitage stop is super loud though in case that bothers someone. The back rooms behind the second bedroom are so spooky lol but otherwise the place is cute and cozy!
Unable to get into the property with the lockbox, the owner said basically the place had been torn up by the previous renters and they werenât able to get it ready for us. How do we get our money back? Very disappointing interactionHe told us we could drop our bags off there obviously no one was there working on it. The lockbox did not work and so we sought out another accommodation very disappointed.
Clean, comfortable and convenient. It was close to the EL, which we used to go to Cubs Park and downtown. The bus made for an easy trip to Lincoln Park. The unit was pretty basic, but it met our needs.
Slummy, dirty, dark and cold apartment in a great neighborhood would be a better description of this rental. The yellow couch pictured is gross, uncomfortable and broken belongs in the garbage, the yellow is a nasty couch cover, I was afraid to look underneath. The doors have punch holes in them and are broken. The walls are bare and dirty. The towels are cheap and mismatched and overly used. The beds are uncomfortable. The windowsills have cobwebs, bugs and are dirty. No keureg. No coffee. No shampoo or conditioner or body soap. No washcloths. One dishtowel. No dishwasher pods. Not enough trashbags. This unit looks like a bachelor pad for drunk college kids. Floors were dirty, crumbs, dirt, rocks and food on rugs. WIFI IS HORRIBLE TV IS HORRIBLE. Wifi constantly disconnected throughout our stay, TV wouldn't work, no guest mode. Entryway is dark and dirty going down to the unit. This is a BASEMENT apartment. The only good thing about this place is the LOCATION. Very disappointed. Almost ruined our vacation. We were so uncomfortable we almost left early but stuck it out to see Navy Pier and go to the zoo. We were travelling with 7 and there were definitely not enough amenities stocked for us. Owner clearly doesn't care. To top it all off, he asked me to leave a five star review or no review at all. Bad move. Don't stay here if you want to be comfortable.

Missing Bed
The listing says there is a twin bed in one of the bedrooms. There was no twin bed. When we asked the owner he directed us to a storage room down a hallway where we found a bed frame (collapsed and needing assembly) and mattress (wrapped in plastic). Add to this that the bedrooms are both small and there was no room to set up a twin bed frame. After we filed a complaint the owner gave us a partial refund, which we appreciated (and why this review is 3 star). Unit was clean. Location is amazing. Kitchen is very sparsely stocked. We didn't try the pull out couch, but it looked pretty worn.
Plus; good neighborhood with parking. Interior was fine.
Minus; rat poison on floor of laundry area nearly killed our dogs and cost us over $1000 in vet bills. No visible signs about the poison. Landlord never responded to my text question about why no signage?
Also, get used to the train sounding like itâs coming thru the ceiling every 15 minutes.
I cried when I first came into this unit. First, It was awkward getting the code to get in. I was given the code finally at check in. The owner/manager told me to contact VRBO from then on.
It is basically under the L train so very very loud 24 hours a day. Great location if you want to catch the train.
Bathroom was disgusting and there are broken doors throughout the unit. It is a âgardenâ unit so basically the basement. It is very musty smelling. Shower light didnât work and no water pressure.
All linens and furniture are old and cheap. The bedroom description is wrong. Upon arrival, I was told the twin bed was a mattress in storage and we could use it back there and in an unfinished cold common space.
