We spent a weekend at this beautiful and cozy cabin, which provided a quiet and relaxing retreat. There are several hiking spots in the area, located about 30 to 45 minutes away by car, making it perfect for outdoor enthusiasts. I highly recommend this cabin for anyone seeking a peaceful getaway. Debbie was an excellent hostâalways responsive and eager to assist. Checking in was super easy.
My friend and I came up to do some biking on the C&O and western Maryland rail trail, and to also do some hiking! Weather was perfect and the cozy cabin fit all our needs perfectly!. Very cutely decoratedâŠCleanâŠBeautiful views. The host even invited us for dinner one night if we wanted to join them! Check in was easy and there was even a few snacks and waters provided. All very thoughtful gestures. We were warned that there was a two mile stretch of rougher road leading up to the cabin but had no issues driving my Toyota highlander up the mountain. We had a great time and hope to be back! It was a great weekend getaway!
I came up for a relaxing weekend stay after my midterms and it was wonderful. The host, Deborah, met me on arrival and gave a quick little five minute tour of the place. Everything is exactly as advertised, and, if not for the trees, the view would be incredible as well. Luckily, there was a night where renters in the above Hawks Nest werenât there and Deborah allowed me to walk up and enjoy the sunset view from their deck which made my night. My one nitpick (and itâs definitely a nitpick, not a complaint) is that the hot water didnât seem to last very long at all. It is a 6 gallon tank, so I knew showers had to be quick, but I didnât realize just how quick (the hot water runs out after about a minute). I highly recommend this stay for a solo trip or couples trip.
This couple moved from Harpers Ferry, which is absolutely beautiful in itself, but this mountain is irresistible . They first came up here on weekends to visit other weekenders. Bought a little cabin for themselve. Coming up on the weekends wasnât enough . They hated leaving to go home and finally decided to move here permanently. Steve is a master craftsman and builds custom homes. He built cozy blue cabin and Hawks nest and many homes in the DC area.. He loves the Lord, and loves to step in for our pastor and preach once in a while. Debbie is a retired FCS teacher and enjoys many arts and craft projects, including customizing, epoxy counters and painting, all kind of things. Theyâve been married for 20 years and started out their lives together, traveling and enjoying staying at bed and breakfasts and other vacation rentals. Since they have six children and 15 grandchildren, they built these rental spaces for family gatherings. Itâs a lot of people to house and since they love games and family time youâll find lots of things to do. This couple loves this area and the views are absolutely breathtaking and want to share Godâs beauty with as many people as they can. They love hosting friends, family and meeting new people.
Whatâs great about this neighborhood is people watch out for each other. Not nosy, but they will watch your property and our friendly and helpful. If thereâs a need somebodyâs there, who can fill that need. Kinda like it used to be in the old days. You can ride four wheelers on the road and it is so much fun. I canât explain how much fun it is and going down to the river and looking at the trains go by and the tunnels.
This property was bought for two reasons. One was the view, obviously, and the second was the couple wanted to build their house for retirement. Cozy was built for guest overflow. You will not find another cabin like this. It was built by the owner and is unique and special in many ways. Its a Goldilocks Little Cabin and is compact but has everything you need. Itâs Just Right. There arenât many places on the mountain that you have this kind of view (winter and beginning of spring) Morning, noon and night the scenery is always changing and sometimes itâs absolutely breathtaking. The property lots are far enough apart that you canât see your neighbors. Only Hawks nest above you.
