Mountain modern architecture with oversized windows and sliders surround you with the natural beauty of the San Juan Mountains and the Hermosa Creek wilderness area. Every room has a unique vista! The perfect setting for multi-family getaways, wedding-party stays, hunting/fishing excursions, corporate retreats, outdoor adventures, or sheer relaxation.

Perched on its own six acre hilltop overlooking the beautiful Animas River Valley, Ridgeview Over the Animas offers complete privacy yet is conveniently located only 15 minutes away from historic downtown Durango and Purgatory Ski Resort.

This exquisite 4,200 sq/ft home sleeps 12 in beds and hosts up to 14 including the main house and guest apartment. Each bedroom has an outdoor living space with a private deck or patio for quiet relaxation. Designed to reflect the natural beauty of the area, this home balances maximum comfort and enjoyment with a warm, refined ambiance.

The 3,400 sq/ft main house features 3 bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms, a gourmet kitchen with Thermador appliances, full slab quartz island, and designer finishes and furnishings. The open floor plan showcases a signature fireplace in the great room that rises that to meet a 20ft ceiling. A beautifully patterned, 11 foot live-edge Costa Rican Guanacaste wood dining table comfortably seats between 12-14, with additional al-fresco seating on the adjoining back patio. Covered deck overlooks and a private hot tub offer many gathering options to take in the sweeping views.

Traveling with a nanny, personal chef, security, or a family group preferring separate accommodations on the property? A beautifully appointed, separate 800 sq/ft apartment is included, complete with its own private entrance, kitchen, laundry and deck. The spacious apartment floor plan includes a large private bedroom configured with a queen bed and a set of full bunk beds.

Located north of Durango with easy access to skiing, hiking, golfing, mountain biking, fishing, river rafting, hunting, horseback riding, hot springs and more, Ridgeview Over the Animas has something for everyone in every season.

Outdoor cameras and Ring doorbells monitor the driveway approach and primary entry points. Hot Tub bathing area is NOT monitored

Can’t Beat the Views

We come to the Durango area about once a year. This is our fifth VRBO in the area and has had, by far, the best views. Gorgeous home. Convenient location. Lots of room for families and friends.

Our family was accommodated perfectly! One of our sons has 2 small children and we put them in the apartment area. There is a wonderful common area for all to gather. The views are absolutely heavenly! I can’t say enough about this beautiful home. Loved our time there!

Words can not express how much we love this property!! We had the most amazing micro-wedding, (26 people), and mini-honeymoon here and the host, Paul, could not have been more accommodating and helpful with the process. We had family stay with us leading up to the ceremony, and the space was perfect for the combined group. My husband's family stayed in the apartment above the garage, while my loud family with kids was able to stay in the rooms downstairs, so everyone had their own space while we were all still together! The ceremony was held outside surrounded by mountains and our pictures are breathtaking. Paul was available to contact the entire time and was very knowledgeable about the area. I would highly recommend the property to anyone, and I would visit again in a heartbeat!!

The cabin itself is a dream, with stunning views that took our breath away every morning.The kitchen was a highlight—fully stocked with modern appliances, ample cookware, and even thoughtful extras like spices and coffee. It made preparing meals a joy, whether we were whipping up breakfast or hosting a cozy dinner. The open layout let us cook while still enjoying the incredible views and each other’s company.The entire property was spotless, cozy, and inviting, with every amenity we could need.
