We enjoyed our stay although there was a lot of traffic noise. A tv in the living room would have been better for us. There was a lack of a place to hang clothes. Overall we could recommend this place to stay.
The owner was so kind and gracious. We reserved the stay for our father so he could escape Hurricane Milton. We were so grateful for his understanding of our last minute reservation and so accommodating of our pets.
My only complaint is easy to fix. There was no toilet tissue in the bathroom. I bought my own at IGA. But I'm still giving you a 5 Star rating as I'm sure this was probably a one-time oversight with the cleaning crew.
I was very pleased with this rental. I was able to come to town and visit with my sisters and family in Apalachicola for a couple days. The unit, was so cute, and VERY clean. It had a mini fridge, stocked with water, coffee maker, with coffee provided, and some snacks. The bathroom was nice, with nice towels, even a dark cloth for make-up. (us make up wearers appreciate that). It has a window AC unit, that kept me very cool, internet and nice size TV. It was located just a couple blocks from places to eat and the bay. I am so glad that I came across it and will rent again in the future. Thanks Jason, for a wondeful place to stay!
Hey Friends! I grew up in the Adirondack Mountains as a child but have spent most of my life in Florida. As much as I loved the Northern Mountains I just couldn't hibernate for half the year so I made the switch to Florida as soon as I was on my own. I love the outdoors and water sports of all kinds.
Carrabelle and Franklin county offer a unique, authentic experience that is rare to find these days. You won't find chain stores or restaurants here. Its why I chose to live and raise my family here .
Lucyâs Beach Hideaway is a unique structure that I was attracted to the moment I saw it. Built in the early 1900's it served as a boarding house for women under the name The Beauty Rest Hotel, later on it was owned by the town Pharmacist "Smash" who ended up marrying a beautiful woman "Lucy" who was on the lamb from Atlanta and hiding in quiet little Carrabelle. Fortunately for her, Smash, being the town pharmacist, was well connected and managed to get her charges dropped once she was found out. We love the history of our little Gem!
