Great Stay-Awesome views and plenty of space. The house was exceptionally clean. The host was very responsive to my many questions and accommodating. I would stay again no doubt.
Wonderful stay! Well maintained old home with great character. Loved the views in every direction with coffee in the morning. The hosts communicated everything you need to know and are very responsive to any need you have. Highly recommend!
We had an amazing time staying at Nellies! The house takes you back in time. The views are spectacular! The house is clean, the beds are comfortable, the kitchen had plenty of amenities. Will most likely stay here again!
Scenery was beautiful and relaxing. The house itself is beautifully furnished and had everything you could ask for. Our only request would be to have the porch screens in.
Beautiful craftsman home with completely updated appliances and everything we needed for a family getaway- we had 5 adults and two kids. Kelly was gracious and flexible with check in/out times and super responsive. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a place to stay near the Potomac Eagle railroad
We really enjoyed the atmosphere of this cozy place. Well furnished, comfy beds, well-stocked kitchen and cozy fireplace to offset the cold weather outside.
This property is very nice. The home has been remodeled and the renovation was very well done. The original charm has been retained while many modern conveniences have been added. The house has all new appliances, the cookware, glasses and utensils are all of good quality. The location was perfect for our group. Quiet, comfortable, and well appointed.I added a photo to illustrate a view out of one window from inside the home. We will definitely return for another stay.
My family (husband, son, daughter, daughter in law, son in law, and two grandchildren came for a holiday trip to ride the train to the North Pole. We loved the house, original charm with all the modern upgrades. The hosts thought of everything we might need. Weâd love to visit again.
The farmhouse was charming! The kitchen was stocked with nice cookware and cooking utensils. Coffee grinder for fresh coffee. We brought our own sugar and cream.
Wonderful tub! Bathroom stocked with salts and bubble bath.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this immaculate and beautifully decorated home. The owners have done a wonderful job of keeping the homeâs historic charm while at the same time offering all the modern conveniences. We enjoyed movies, puzzles, and games, but the most special memory was soaking in the hot tub while taking in the spectacular farm and mountain views at sunset! It was just what we needed to get away and relax with family! Kelly was accommodating and quickly answered any questions. I highly recommend this property if you are looking to stay in the area!
The views were our favorite! Such beautiful scenery. The home has been updated and all the decor is so beautiful. The kitchen and the bathroom had everything we would need and all the appliances were so nice. Tons of quality upgrades. The gas logs were nice too. I wish we had time to enjoy the hot tub. Maybe next time!
Beautiful Historic Home with Stunning Views and Thoughtful Hosts
We had a wonderful experience at this charming, well-maintained Sears and Roebuck home. The house is beautifully decorated and exceptionally clean, and the hosts went above and beyond to make our stay special, even baking brownies to celebrate my wife's birthday! The views from the property are absolutely breathtaking â rolling fields, distant mountains, and fog in the morning that made for a peaceful, serene atmosphere. Wildlife in the surrounding fields added to the magic.
The location was perfect for us as well, with the Potomac Eagle Scenic Railroad just a short drive away. We enjoyed riding the train and plan to explore the nearby town of Romney on our way back home.
We highly recommend this rental and would love to return in the future!
We were in town for a Best friend getaway. The home is absolutely gorgeous! Rustic modern, with beautiful wall art/photos of the surroundings. Fresh flowers! Small touches to make you feel welcome. Kitchen has everything you need. Great coffee bar. One bathroom however itâs huge with a great shower and lovely bathtub. There was a basket with great accessories for a nice relaxing bath!. Host showed great hospitality, was IMMEDIATELY available for questions. Loved the âno shoesâ request which obviously contributes to the cleanliness of the home. Overall, it was a great experience and weâll be coming back soon!
Mother-in-law graduated from Romney back in â61 and wanted to revisit her old school. My wife and I found this property just outside of town and we're thankful. It really felt like home. If I had to choose one word to describe the house⊠cozy comes to mind. Itâs just a wonderful older home in really great condition. The property is pretty spectacular too. The morning view of the valley and mountains really goes well with a cup of coffee đ. Our hostâs Kelly and John communicated with us in a timely manner. Kelly also arranged to have some fresh beef- as well as homegrown tomatoes- awaiting us. Both were delicious. If we get this way again, we know where we will be staying. Thank you Kelly and John.
Beautiful scenery. We had a very peaceful time and enjoyed fishing in the pond and watching birds , deer , and also saw several red fox . The hot tub and Mountain View was a perfect way to relax in the evenings
Nellie's is an historic Sears, Roebuck and Company home. The kit was hauled in on the train from across the river. The home is situated on the Lord Fairfax land grant that was later surveyed by George Washington.
