You will be nestled right in the Mack's Inn area, the epicenter of fun in picturesque Island Park. This relaxing retreat is in the heart of nature and offers a brilliant getaway for guests. Comfort is a priority in any of the 3 cozy bedrooms, with one conveniently located on the main floor, and two more nestled away in the upstairs loft. The bathroom is even well-appointed on the main floor for your convenience. Relax outdoors on the front porch or on the sprawling back deck before you have an evening close to the warm glow of a crackling fire at the inviting firepit. Imagine yourself enjoying the warmth and aroma of a roaring campfire with its magical spell rising on crisp mountain air! You'll definitely find comfort and tranquility in every corner! Immerse yourself in the terrific surroundings and create lasting memories. Experience what Island Park has to offer with a stay at this authentic log cabin.
The historic MACK’S INN area sits quietly on the grassy banks of the Henry’s Fork, an obscure branch of the mighty Snake River. This lazy stream of cool, clear water, allows for kayaking, fly fishing, or just watching the kids splash the day away! Don’t be surprised by a wide array of wildlife including moose, bald eagles, squirls and much more! Come get acquainted with the mountain life in a real authentic 1920s cabin with all of its rustic charm!
This early 20th century vintage cabin is nestled beneath a canopy of towering pines, garnished with nearly a century of colorful history! The interior has recently been updated and tastefully decorated, so as to compliment the era in which it was built. The modernized kitchen and bath feature comfort of today’s living while the living room and bedrooms take you back in time for a truly unique experience. The original log exterior compliments a newly constructed deck when you want a quiet moment to sit, relax, and listen as fragrant river breezes tickle those towering pines! We call this little retreat “HEAVEN’S HAVEN.”
“HEAVEN’S HAVEN” is just a few hundred feet from the river! A few steps more and you’re on the doorstep of a premier pizza and ice-cream shop. “CAFE SABOR”, the local authentic Mexican restaurant is just a stone’s throw away across the stream! This cozy cabin comfortably sleeps 6. Enjoy the style of the original 1920s lower ceilings, and the unique narrow steps to the sleeping quarters in the upstairs loft. These exceptional features are a few of the many time period treasures that were common for the area during the turn of the century and adds a uniquely cozy and authentic ambiance, just the way a TRUE log cabin SHOULD feel!
Cell phones work very well at the cabin with internet access/WIFI available at all times. With that being said, the city of Island Park does occasionally experience slow service during peak vacation times due to the influx of users. This occurs throughout the entire area of Island Park.
This unique log cabin is open year 'round and is conveniently situated in a central location for a variety of activities. You will be within minutes of some of the area's best adventures. Of course, you're very close to Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons with all they have to offer. This cabin is a few miles south of a public boat launch at Henry's Lake State Park. And, in the winter ice fishing at Henry's is amazing. Did you know record fish are frequently caught there!? Travel south on Highway 20 from your place and you can visit the roaring Mesa Falls, experience the wonder of Johnny Sack Cabin at Big Springs or the majesty of Sawtelle Peak. There is world class fly fishing on Henry's Fork of the Snake River or on the Madison River. Enjoy a live dinner theater close by at Mack's Inn Playhouse. Relax and soak up nature during a float trip, on hiking trails, during a horseback ride, or even a round of golf at Island Park Village Resort. Take a few hours to hike around Harriman State Park or visit their historical ranch community. This location is a snowmobiler's paradise. Take your sled to some of the area's best trails accessible right from your cabin's front door! There is definitely something for every level of rider. Enjoy over 500 miles of trail riding or be a little more adventurous boondocking in some of the softest over-the-hood powder ever! Ride the best back country hills and steep climbs that you can possibly imagine!

During the winter months we keep the main driveway plowed and the walkways cleared. For your convenience, a snow shovel will greet your arrival at the front door in case any additional snow has fallen. The driveway in front of the cabin will accommodate 2-3 vehicles. There is a convenient large parking area close by for trailers, if you choose. You are welcome to drive your sleds up to the cabin so you can hit the trails early! High clearance, snow tires and four-wheel drive is necessary for Island Park and Yellowstone's mountain terrain during the winter and snowy weather. During the winter, please check on parking availability a few days prior to your arrival.

The area is known for its native wildlife with a mamma moose actually bedding down right in your yard! Keep an eye out for fox, elk, deer, and a beautiful array of birds and woodland creatures in the adjacent aspen grove. If you listen closely, you may hear the calls of the resident bald eagle and her two chicks. Your cabin is definitely a nature lover's peaceful retreat! Please note that there are all sorts of wildlife in the mountains so you may consider bringing your favorite repellent and be sure to do what you can to not bring them into the cabin with you. And, when booking any cabin in the woods, you will expect to encounter insects, spiders and other wildlife. It is part of the experience. Your cabin is not hermetically sealed so bugs, spider, and all sorts of wildlife may enter the property. Please keep the doors closed so they do not enter unexpectedly.

A starter supply of coffee service, paper towels, toilet paper, trash bags, hand soap, shampoo and conditioner, body wash and dish soap are provided. However, depending on personal preference or consumption, you may need to bring or buy extra supplies during your stay. There is a small county grocery store North on Highway 20 called Sam Patch Co. where we do all of our shopping when we stay at the cabin.

This is a NON-SMOKING cabin. We are also under a county ordinance for short term rentals and ask that our guests please stay in compliance for their safety and health. We ask that you please stay within capacity limits, read the burn ordinance and please be neighborly. Please be aware that this cabin is on community electrical and WIFI systems and we pass along the most current recommendations from them to our guests as applicable. For protection, video and audio can be motion activated and monitored on the outside of the property at the owners shed looking out toward the parking area. By booking this property you acknowledge and agree to the rental agreement that is sent with a confirmed reservation. You are also responsible to your own health and safety during and after you stay at this property and management and/or owners are not liable. And travel insurance is good to have if you are worried about anything that may hinder your ability to stay.

We look forward to your stay here at Heaven’s Haven!

Cute, Cozy and Comfortable

This darling, historic cabin is thoughtfully furnished with everything needed for a memorable stay. It’s definitely not cookie-cutter! The beds were comfortable, the kitchen well-equipped, the deck relaxing, Blackstone Griddle a dream, and - after a long day of hiking - the water pressure in the shower was terrific. Close to local hiking trails, a coffee, stand, restaurant, and grocery store. Around 30 minutes from Yellowstone National Park and less than 2 hours from Grand Teton NP. There are plenty of wonderful places to visit. We explored Johnny Sacks historic cabin and watched a moose munching in the springs just down the road. And a night at Island Park’s Yellowstone Playhouse is a must.
The living room is comfy and good for visiting, watching tv or even getting some work done at the dining table and desk.
The Coffee Pot Falls Trail is quite close.
Johnny Sack’s cabin is nearby and an excellent example of craftsmanship.
The Grand Tetons are close enough for a day trip.
