Villa and Casita overlooking the Pacific Ocean in Guanacaste near Nosara
This secluded estate on a mountain top overlooking the Pacific is surrounded by thousands of acres of virgin forest and is perfect for 3 couples or a large family. The main house has two master suites with large baths, one up & one down and a twin bed in the TV room with a full bath. The living area opens to a Lake Como style veranda that looks down on a beautiful cove and also has spectacular mountain views as does the open area covered dining area. The large pool is set between the main house and the casita. The casita has identical views and is complete with sitting area, kitchenette and small bath. If you are looking for a real getaway that is totally private with fantastic views you will not find anything better. There is a security gated entry and the villa is a 4 km scenic drive up the mountains. We are located half way between Samara & Nosara and only 3 km from the small fishing village of Garza. There are small quaint restaurants in Garza and numerous restaurants and amenities in those nearby popular towns. Get away from the tourist scene and have a secluded and romantic setting. The house was designed by the original owner to capture the spectacular views and prevailing breezes from the ocean so no need for air-conditioning. We have monkeys in the trees on occasion and frogs croaking at night during the rainy season. There are beautiful sunrises and sunsets. We feel we have the best part of Costa Rica and it is truly paradise. Our pricing includes both the main house and casita with maid service twice weekly. We have a project manager/gardener during the week. The employees may be hired for other services (like cooking) on their off days but you would pay them direct. Since they only speak Spanish, google translate works very well.
We had great time, spent a lot of time in the pool.
Property was awesome, water systems and septic systems need upgrading. Bearly any pressure and little or no hot water for the showers. We have stayed many times in Costa Rica and the issues that I have mentioned seem to apply to most properties. We go for the Pura Vida and we were not disapointed.
We enjoyed the view: beautiful sunsets, spectacular view of the Pacific, and the grounds are beautiful. Very private. Outdoor living spaces were ideal rain or shine. Amazing pool! Indoor space and bedrooms are very nice, but we spent most of our time outside. Nice bathrooms and kitchen is well equipped.
Jim Wall designed and built the villa sometime around 2010. Five years earlier Jim and Linda had crossed this property on horseback. When they saw the majestic view of the mountains & the cove they both said to each other that they wished it was only a lot for sell rather than a 1400 acre farm. Then five years later a friend told Jim about some large lots with great ocean views on the market. Jim, a long time builder & architect was curious enough to take a look. He couldnât believe it but one of the lots available was the exact location of their wishful thinking. So they bought it and starting construction with a promise from the developer that they would have electricity within in the year. However, they lived there 5 years on a generator & solar before actually getting electricity. Bob & Joy Savage bought into the property when Jim & Linda had to move back to the States because of his health. Then Jimâs children inherited Jimâs ownership after his death in 2023. Both families love to come and stay.
You won't find a more private location. The house is set on 2 acres on top of a ridge where both sides have views of the Pacific Ocean. There is a gated and manned entrance and the villa is 4 km from the main road. Inside this project there is a private beach with palm trees for shade and is great for picnics or walking on the white beaches.. We are only 3km down the main road to Garza where there are many boats for deep sea fishing charters and a good swimming beach.
