Host interaction was poor. They asked for my email address, but I never received an email with checkin instructions. I used the vrbo app messaging to ask a few questions about my upcoming stay, and the host did not reply to all of my questions. Then, the evening prior to my arrival, I messaged to let them know that I still did not have the checkin instructions. I spent the next several hours trying to get the host to tell me the very simple instructions. She kept telling me that I should have received them. It was extremely frustrating and I was worried that I wouldnât be able to access the location. I called vrbo customer service, and they were kind, but couldnât reach the host either, so ultimately, not helpful. Finally, an hour later, the host messaged me the instructions. I believe a language barrier may have been part of the problem, but this was unacceptable in my opinion. Otherwise, the house was clean and comfortable. Instructions left on the kitchen counter or entryway regarding trash would have been helpful. There were garbage bins outside between the house and the next one, so we were unsure if we were to use them, or if they belonged to a neighbor. It would have been helpful to specify where the bins we were to use were located.
