Apartment in Downtown Clemson. Just a few minutes to Campus & Football Stadium.
Come spend time in downtown Clemson for graduation, ring ceremony or a Clemson Football/Baseball weekend. This cozy apartment is just five minutes from downtown Clemson and the Clemson University Campus founded in 1889. Guests can walk the oldest neighborhood in Clemson, SC with hiking trails to campus & leisurely neighborhood walks to dining, bars, & restaurants just a few mins away in downtown Clemson. Swimming or boating on beautiful Lake Hartwell is minutes away. Guests may bring golf carts & ride around in the golf cart friendly town while taking in the sights of the home of the three-time national championship winning Clemson Tiger Football team. The owner of the property is the official University Historian for Clemson University and has filled the apartment with personal memorabilia, books, and items about Clemson's history. If interested, during your stay, he can provide you and your guests with a 30-45 minute history of Clemson University.
The property was clean and a fully immersive Clemson experience!
Otis met us at check-in and walked us through his extensive collection of memorabilia. The space included a new coffee machine (which we used) and a combo oven (which we did not). Otis and Julie were nice enough to provide coffee and a few snacks for our stay. Otis also drove down the hill to meet our son on game day!
We will be back and can't wait to take him up on his offer of a campus tour!
My name is Otis W. Pickett. I work for Clemson University as the University Historian. We love tailgating for Clemson Football/Baseball and attend most Clemson sports. We also love hosting people in Clemson and sharing our passion of the history of Clemson with others.
The neighborhood is established, historic, and possesses a great deal of character. The neighborhood is home to Clemson professors, former Presidents, administration, and staff. The neighborhood is family oriented and has multiple walkable forested pathways to the campus via Sylvan Delight (the walking nature trail named in honor of Battan Death March survivor and former Clemson English Professor Col. Ben Skardon) and is just a brief walk to downtown Clemson.
This property is owned by the University Historian at Clemson University, who can offer a unique perspective on the town, university, and history of the region. The property is also close to downtown Clemson but tucked away enough to disconnect from crowds and offer a relaxing get away. If you are an alum, fan or have children at Clemson then you can come and visit, go to games, and be close enough to your kids/students if they want to visit but also have your own space. Go Tigers!
