Nestled among coastal colored bungalows, tropical landscaping & a private lake, this lovable family house has everything you need to enjoy your vacation at the beach! With a fully equipped kitchen, SS appliances, granite counter tops and BBQ grill you'll have all the essentials to cook & dine inside or out! With your stay, enjoy the use of 2 bicycles, a beach cart & more beach/pool amenities! All of this within walking distance to the beach!

The Town:
Dubbed by Forbe's Magazine as "Florida's Best Kept Secret," you'll adore the little beach town of Santa Rosa! Being closer to Atlanta, New Orleans, Birmingham, Memphis, and Nashville than it is to Miami, everything from the cuisine to the warm overbrimming Southern hospitality serves as a constant reminder that you have ventured into a coastal treasure, where goodies like grits, hush puppies, crayfish and pimento cheese are served everywhere! Combine the tastes, smells and cool emerald ocean and you have yourself a vacation in paradise. Visit the rare white sand Coastal Dunes or Turtle Cove! Spend your day at one of the many State Parks in the area and paddleboard among a myriad of bio-diverse creatures and Sawgrass marshes! Our kiddos love to wade in the brackish water of the dunes to search for hermit crabs while my husband and I play frisbee overlooking their little adventures. Visit one of the many colorful neighborhoods of South Walton on your bicycle. Spend your day perusing some of the vibrant art galleries and shops.. or simply take a dive in the crystal calm waters of the Panhandle. There is so much to do in Santa Rosa Beach!

The grounds around Family Tides:
Meandering down the boardwalk path to Family Tide's beach bungalow, you will notice the sounds of sing songy Santa Rosa tree frogs and lush tropical foliage all around. Zipping about the boardwalk, your kiddos might spot fleet footed lizards and frogs so tiny that our family has dubbed them "fairy frogs!" The serene private lake on the grounds houses fat turtles and fish that you're welcome to feed at the end of a private path just steps from your bungalow (they like hot dog buns:).

Your front porch:
Upon arriving at your door you'll find two beach cruiser bicycles, a beach cart, umbrella and two beach chairs for your convenience! As parents, we know that all the kids really want to do is swim swim swim, so we've provided you with sand castle toys, miscellaneous beach/pool toys and floaties. On your porch you will also find a Weber BBQ grill for cooking up the local catch of the day! Please take note that the bungalow has keyless entry and a doorbell cam on the front door for your safety. We kindly ask that when you've finished using the amenities to please return them to the beach bin for the next guest's enjoyment!

The Living Room:
Painted in the hue of the Emerald Isle's ocean water on a sunny day, your Bohemian beach living room invokes instant cheer and relaxation when you enter. Decorated with vintage ocean artifacts like two original Key West buoys collected with love at a Floridian antique market, a kitschy carved coconut head and historic beach art, you'll be feeling the "good vibrations" in no time! Put up your feet on the over sized antique Calypso blue trunk and watch a flick on the 50" TV with built in Roku! Inside the trunk you'll discover fluffy bedding and extra pillows for restful zzz's on the leather Lazyboy sofa. If watching TV isn't your thing, open up the television cabinet and choose a fun board game to play with the fam! If you're more of movie person, watch one of the many DVDs provided. Pirates of the Caribbean anyone? Family Tide's living room has a spacious and open feel as it is connected to the kitchen, dining area and 1/2 bathroom, making everything accessible! We hope you love the custom sea turtle feature wall in honor of the local Loggerhead and Green Sea Turtle species! Take note that when you enter the bungalow, we've left an informative book of our House Rules, Things To Do, Restaurant Recommendations, State Parks and even places to take your dogs! If you look a little closer we might have left you a nice surprise on the counter;-) Is it your birthday? Maybe. Your vacation at the beach? Absolutely! Enjoy!

The Kitchen and Dining Space:
Family Tide's kitchen leaves little to be desired as it is FULLY equipped with brand new stainless steel appliances, beautiful granite counter tops that mimic the sea floor and everything you need to cook, blend, whip, grate, boil, fry, bake or grill your favorite meal (did I cover all common methods of cooking?)! Head over to Goatfeather's renowned Seafood market and buy some freshly caught Blue Crab to cook up in the comfort of your own kitchen then wash it all down with a tangy salted margarita that you've made in the brand new blender! For dessert, Goatfeather's Market also sells the BEST Key Lime Pie you've ever had... sweet and tangy deliciousness! We've provided all of your utensils, cutlery and dinnerware to enjoy your family meals, inside or outside on the grill! You will also find that children's dinnerware, utensils and sippy cups have been provided. For those guests with fur babies, feel free to use the two dog bowls under the sink!

In the dining space that is directly adjacent to the kitchen, enjoy the throwback beach feel with the authentic (and super old) lifesaver fished right out of the water at Martha's Vineyard and the sea grass pendant light that throws interesting shadows on the wall during the golden hour. The retro Formica dining table seats six and the kitchen bar also seats four. For parents of infants, there is a high chair provided! To get you started, we've equipped you with one roll of paper towels, three dish washing pods and one trash bag. You have also been provided with dish washing liquid located in the sink dispenser!

1/2 bathroom/Washer & Dryer
The lower level 1/2 bathroom is equipped with a digital washer and dryer for your use. Take note of the mid century chalkware fish family on the wall. These little Anthropomorphic sets were really popular in 60's beach houses and lend a quirky note to the soft sea foam green space! I like to think these fish represent each member of my family. I would totally wear a hat with a flower in it. Side note: You will need to bring laundry pods! In the 1/2 bath you'll also find a fold out dog crate and bed for your pup next to the washer and dryer. Please feel free to use them if you decide to bring your furry family friend! There is a small bar of hand soap and small trash bag in this bathroom as well.

Master Bedroom:
An oasis of tranquility with lake views from both the bedside window and private balcony access door, your master bedroom will inspire relaxation as soon as you lay down your luggage. With a brand new queen sized Tuft and Needle mattress, your restful nights will be a breeze and evenings spent on your private balcony with the warm ocean wind blowing through the palms will usher you back inside to take a good old beach vacation nap. In the mornings and right at your fingertips, enjoy a delicious 'cuppa joe' that you've brewed in the Keurig right at your very own custom coffee station. After you've fueled yourself with a warm beverage and lake views from your balcony, take a long hot shower in the on-suite bathroom equipped with an over sized shower head and plenty of shampoo/conditioner and body wash that we've provided to make it easier on you! At the end of your day exploring Santa Rosa Beach come on back to your bedroom and catch a good movie on your mounted flat screen television..or maybe take a dip the hot tub steps from your door? You decide on your vacay!

Guest Bedroom: Right down the hall where tiny prisms of colored light are thrown from the stained glass on a sunny morning, head into the guest bedroom with 2 full sized beds (trundle), starry night curtains reminiscent of the coastal evening sky and a calming sea turtle night light. Painted a serene mint green, like the local Blue Mountain's creamy mint chocolate chip ice cream, this room will be your favorite place to hang out after a long day at the beach! Equipped with a modern safety fan for white noise. With private balcony access adjoining the master bedroom, you have two access points to the second bedroom from the Master bedroom. Enjoy the sounds of nature from the 2nd bedroom's balcony or simply hang your beach towels after you've come in from a day of splashing around in the emerald water! Maybe an episode of Sponge Bob is in order on the flat screen tv provided in this bedroom? Or maybe it's time for an ice cold Southern sweet tea on the balcony? You're on beach time at Family Tides so let the sunshine in and enjoy your stay! Guests will also enjoy a private on suite bathroom with over sized shower head in the 2nd bedroom. Shampoo, conditioner and body wash is provided. There is also one roll of toilet paper and hand soap provided in each bathroom.

Things to note:
The closest beach access is within walking distance but you have to walk down a boardwalk and two flights of stairs to the sugary sand! Be prepared to carry your beach items down the stairs.
