Santa Maria se trouve à Ocho Rios, sur la côte nord de la Jamaïque. Le bâtiment est de style colonial. L'appartement à louer est la maison d'un très célèbre hôtelier des Caraïbes, céramiste et épouse d'architecte d'intérieur, qui y habite depuis plus de 25 ans.

Depuis le premier étage, on entre dans l'appartement par un escalier courbe ou par un ascenseur. En entrant dans la porte, vous verrez le salon qui est en grande partie blanc, la terrasse au-delà et au-delà de la grande piscine, des jardins et de la mer des Caraïbes.

L'appartement est au bord de la mer, petite plage et vous avez la vue des chambres et des salles de bain. Il y a la climatisation et un ventilateur de plafond dans le salon / salon ainsi que dans les chambres. Parmi les deux chambres, l’une a un lit king size à baldaquin (78 po sur 74 po), une salle de bains et un placard, l’autre un simple (74 po sur 38 po) avec son propre placard, salle de bains et toilettes. Chaque salle de bain a une pomme de douche. Les draps et les serviettes sont fournis.

La taille de l'appartement est de 1754 m². On dit qu'il y a probablement très peu d'appartements de 2 chambres et 2 salles de bains de cette taille sur la côte nord.

Il existe des livres à lire, à cuisiner et des œuvres d'art de nombreux pays. De nouvelles céramiques sont fabriquées, des œuvres d'art et des livres achetés et réaménagés dans tout l'appartement.

Miss Daisy, la femme de ménage / cuisinière est la force de l'appartement. Demandez-lui de préparer quelques plats jamaïcains typiques. Elle est là tous les jours sauf le dimanche pour faire le ménage et cuisiner. Elle travaille 40 heures / semaine 6 jours. Elle vient vers 11h00. Fait vos lits, nettoie l'appartement et prépare votre déjeuner. Après cela, elle prend une pause pour préparer son thé / café l’après-midi et préparer le dîner. Elle n'habite pas Si vous souhaitez qu’elle prépare votre petit-déjeuner ou travaille pendant son jour de congé, prenez les dispositions nécessaires avec elle et moyennant paiement. Elle est une jolie Jamaïcaine, toujours avec un sourire, toujours serviable et tout à fait disposable. Elle est avec nous à plein temps depuis plus de 25 ans.

Il y a une cuisine complète avec réfrigérateur, congélateur, grand et petit four, micro-ondes, cuisinière électrique, presse-agrumes, mixeur, grille-pain, etc.

Il y a une machine à laver, un sèche-linge, un fer et une planche dans une pièce séparée.

Tous les repas semblent être pris sur la terrasse, à cause du cadre magnifique. Il est agréable de siroter votre thé ou votre café du matin sur la terrasse / le belvédère et de voir le soleil se lever et regarder les navires de croisière défiler au loin.

Il y a beaucoup de choses à faire autour d'Ocho Rios. Dunns River Falls, Fern Gully, Mystic Mountain et Dolphins Cove sont à seulement 10-15 minutes en voiture. Dans l’autre direction, vous vous dirigerez vers le pays de James Bond, le Golden Eye (Ian Fleming), le Firefly Guest House (Sir Noel Coward) et l’aéroport Ian Fleming. Port Antonio est à 2 heures de route.

Plusieurs restaurants méritent une visite et le petit hôtel Jamaica Inn et Hermosa Cove peuvent être comptés pour une soirée très agréable. Réservation requise. Vous pouvez goûter des cuisines de la Jamaïque, de l'Italie, de l'Inde, de la Chine et de l'Amérique du Nord. Bien sûr, il y a des restaurants de poisson aussi. Les supermarchés General Foods et Progressive, en particulier, proposent des produits alimentaires importés et gastronomiques, ainsi que des spécialités locales. Chaque vendredi, non loin de Santa Maria, il y a un marché de producteurs.
Il y a un court de tennis sur la propriété. Un instructeur de tennis est disponible par arrangement préalable pour les leçons ou pour jouer à prix. Il y a un espace de stationnement réservé pour l'appartement.

L'appartement est dans une communauté fermée.

Santa Maria est à 80 minutes en voiture de l'aéroport de Montego Bay, à 100 minutes de l'aéroport de Kingston, à 20 minutes de l'aéroport Ian Fleming ou à 5 minutes du centre-ville d'Ocho Rios.

Peaceful with a view

Our stay at Mr. Jag's villa was very enjoyable. Peaceful and relaxing with a beautiful view. Ochi was VERY hot during our stay however there was usually a breeze that helped. Overall, our stay was very nice, and Jag was a good host.

Home Away from Home.

My friends and I absolutely loved our stay. Jag was extremely helpful to us, and communication was perfect. The housekeeper/chef Ms. Nadene, we love her. She took such great care of us. The home is beautiful and in a great location. This will be forever my home in Jamaica!

Chill and relax

This was our second time staying at Jag’s apartment and once again it was very enjoyable. It was clean and comfortable with a beautiful view. We spent most time on the balcony enjoying the view and breezes. Nadine was great and came everyday to tidy up. The Owner, Jag, also checked in with us regularly. Thank you Nadene and Jag.

Much Needed Vacay

I cannot say enough about our stay at this very beautiful, accommodating apartment. The host Jag (the owner) welcomed us personally to his beautiful home. The artwork, and the pottery pieces displayed throughout the condo (the pottery created by the owner) was a very pleasant addition to rest of the surrounding. There is a beautiful ocean view that you can enjoy from the large balcony, or while sitting inside the beautiful well decorated great room. From the master bedroom you can hear the ocean waves hitting against the ocean wall. As a special treat you get to enjoy the ocean view from the master shower. Now what added to all of this wonderfulness was Nadine the housekeeper/cook. Nadine made my husband and my stay a special experience. She has a very kind spirt, and by the end of my stay I realize I had gained a friend. I have already discussed our next vacation with Jag. I’m looking forward to our next vacation.

Christmas in Ocho

Rest and relaxation were just what we wanted for our Christmas vacation this year. The location of the apartment, very near town. The ocean, the temperature and the easy-going lifestyle of the island was perfect. The apartment was beautiful. Lots of light, space, and the terrace view. Having Miss Daisy was a bonus for our stay. She is a gem. She was more than happy to prepare meals and opened our eyes to real Jamaican cuisine. She prepared her Pumpkin soup, a request for Jerk Chicken and the traditional Jamaican dish of Ackee and Saltfish. Although I never got to speak with Mr. Mehta (the owner) during our stay, he was a most gracious host checking in to make sure that things were going well with our stay. Everyone that we met on the Island were very helpful and friendly. It made for a very Merry Christmas in Jamaica.

Lovely Retreat with Character

We recently enjoyed a two week stay at this wonderful get away. Communication was open, friendly, and easy throughout the process with the owner, Jag. He was a true gentleman, welcoming us in person upon arrival and checking in with us during our stay. The apartment is true to the pictures and description. It's very clean and kept so by daily care from Nadene, who is friendly and unobtrusive. We especially enjoyed how close we were to the ocean. The slatted shutters and veranda french doors were always open allowing for an ever present breeze and the sound of the ocean to flow through the space. And to our amazement, no bugs at all! We would note for fellow travelers that this is not your typical rental that is specifically operated and designed for an influx of transient guests. This is Jag's home. As such, it is quite personal and filled with his extraordinary private art collection. As a gated community we felt safe at all times. The pool and grounds are some of the nicest kept we've enjoyed at a compound this affordable. The grounds crew worked tirelessly and maintained a perfect space. (Note: In our opinion as seasoned Island travelers, this is not in an area we found conducive to safely explore outside the compound. There is little to no dining, shopping or safe walking pathways.) All in all we thoroughly enjoyed this great place at a great value!

I enjoyed my stay and will be going back there again.

Corlene was wonderful, she is a God sent. It was my first time renting property and I can throughly say that it wasn't a disappointment. I will be coming back there. Jag checked in both on phone and in person. I enjoyed his company and his apartment is exactly how it is presented on Vrbo.

Spectacular view

Very nice property, spectacular view of the pool and ocean, small beach like area you can swim in. Kitchen could be upgraded a bit but overall the apartment was okay. But the view you can't beat being on the right level. Balcony good to relax or dine on. Mr. Metha very nice gentleman and host. Miss Daisy is an amazing and wonderful lady. Apart from cleaning she'll cook if ask to. Staying there I had the opportunity of seeing the real Jamaica from the little I saw. Mr. Semore the taxi driver delivered excellent service, a very humble gentleman with great mannerism. My only issues were the kitchen, sitting on the balcony at night we could smell smoke maybe from a restaurant. Not much sidewalks if you're to go out walking and there is a large resort that owns about three properties on both sides of the street. Plus public beaches aren't free for even locals to enjoy. The people are indeed warm and very welcoming. The hospitality was awesome. I'll definitely return to see more of Jamaica.

Beautiful Apartment, Stunning views, and Miss Daisy

While we are experienced travelers, this was out first trip to Jamaica. We chose Mr. Mehta's apartment because of its location, the pool and closeness to the ocean. We weren't sure about having a housekeeper/cook. Well, that turned out to be the best part! While many people go to Jamaica and stay at "all-inclusives," in essence, this is what this place is. The property consists of five buildings with each containing only 8-10 units. This unit is located in the building closest to the ocean. In fact, the apartment is only about 50 feet from it. It is wonderful to go to sleep to the sounds of the waves lapping the shore. The apartment overlooks the large pool (about 20 yards). My wife is a lap swimmer and it was great for her. It was never crowded. In addition, there is access to the ocean via steps or a ramp leading to a white sand bottom. Very nice snorkeling right off of here. The apartment itself is beautifully decorated, with the nicest artwork we have ever had in a rental. There are both beautiful paintings and ceramics created by Mr. Mehta, the owner. The bedrooms are spacious and airy. Our daughter visited for 8 days and she loved the second bedroom. The best attribute of the apartment is the large veranda overlooking the ocean and pool. We spent so much time here reading and enjoying all the wonderful meals. this leads me to the best part of our stay - Miss Daisy. We weren't actually sure how this would work out, but do not hesitate on this. We love her! She is just a wonderful person. It isn't just that she keeps the apartment spotless, that she cares for your every need, and makes the tastiest meals, she is just a great person. My wife and daughter loved going to the grocery (we preferred General Foods over Progressive) and buying local ingredients. Miss Daisy would discuss what we wanted to eat, tell us what she needed, and then serve us incredible meals on the veranda. The food was so good we couldn't bring ourselves to go to a restaurant, figuring that it would most likely be a disappointment. Not only were the meals fantastic, they always had a Jamaican twist. Do not hesitate to take advantage of this. The description of the apartment by Mr. Mehta is entirely accurate. I would add that the staff on the grounds are all great guys. If you are looking for utter relaxation, accompanied by great meals in an incredible location, you have found it.

Amazing

This is a perfect two bedroom apartment. The views are amazing. The swimming pool and beach access are wonderful. Ocho Rios is a great place with many wonderful day activities. I would definitely stay at the property again.

Amazing views, Comfortable and So much more!

Thank you Jag and of course Miss Daisy. We instantly felt at home in your apartment. You totally under estimated the view with your photos. We spent every morning enjoying a cup of coffee while looking at the ocean. We went to sleep with sounds of the waves and nature almost every night. A short walk down to the pool or the beach made the amenities better than any resort. We snorkeled right off the beach. Our daughter made fast friends with kids within the community and has life long memories. We did as well. By renting this unit you have the opportunity to not only enjoy the island but also the amazing people ~ who are not only fun but so welcoming. We can not say enough good things about our stay. Your place is very comfortable, we worried about the white furniture and pottery with our 5 year old but she enjoyed your art and I hope you enjoyed the snowman she made for you. Please extend our thanks to Miss Daisy again. She took care of us and cleaned up after our many trips to and from the beach/pool. Thank you for arranging for groceries in advance. I wish I researched what groceries to buy as I am positive Miss Daisies Pumpkin Soup and Red Bean soup would have surpassed any restaurant as her Jerk Chicken. Richard was our local driver who took us our on a few trips into town. We found many restaurants provide transportation to and from Santa Maria - so that was a great tip. Tips for others: Closest restaurants - Walking distance at Hermosa Cove there is a restaurant Christopher's - food was ok - the view and atmosphere AMAZING. Tracks and Records a sports pub and shopping village is about a 5 minute walk. (sidewalks are not like Canada/US so be sure to walk facing traffic) Pineapple Craft Village is across the street. Be prepared for negotiating and saying no thank you. Recommend for groceries - Progressive foods - prices are a little higher but everything is there. For produce - ask Miss Daisy to see if someone can get for you or go to the market Best Italian, pizzas, pasta, great red wine - Cafe DaVinci within Island Village Best authentic experience - Dave's Lobster Shack - be sure to have cash and see the sizes of Lobsters that are available

breathtaking apartment close to attractions

I was more than pleased with my stay, the owner was accommodating and easy to deal with. The apartment was centrally located, I was able to walk to all the attractions and restaurants. Immediately outside the apartment was a coconut vendor so we could go out and get fresh coconuts in the mornings. Ms. Daisy the helper was pleasant and she prepared the best jamaican meals. I would definitely stay here on my next vacation.

The apartment has been owned for over 32 years by a well traveled and known Caribbean Hotelier and a ceramist. He has worked in the United States, Hawaii and the Caribbean.
He has exhibited his ceramic work in London, Puerto Rico and Jamaica. There are 9 of his pieces in the permanent collection at the Jamaica National Gallery.
He has undergraduate degree from Cornell University and graduate degree from Columbia University.

Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?

It is a quiet, well situated property by the sea with a large pool, beach and tennis court. The interior was done by a very well known interior designer. This apartment has appeared in local news papers and the interior designer's work has been featured in well known international magazines and news papers. The housekeeper/cook has been at the apartment for the last 3 years.
The one before was here for 28 years.

Quels sont les atouts de cet hébergement ?

Nadene, the housekeeper/cook is there everyday to clean and to cook. She is a lovely Jamaican woman, always with a ready smile, always helpful and quite amenable. She has been with me for Over 3 years.
She works 40 hours/6day week. Her day off is Sunday. She comes around 11:00 am, cleans apartment, prepares your lunch and then takes a break to return to prepare your dinner. If you would like her to prepare your breakfast or work on Sunday; make separate arrangement with her.
