Cette belle maison a été récemment rénovée à l'intérieur comme à l'extérieur. Situé à seulement 10 minutes en voiture de Holmes Beach sur Anna Maria Island et à 15 minutes du centre-ville de Bradenton, cette maison se trouve au milieu de boutiques, de restaurants et d'activités illimitées. Lorsque vous entrez dans la maison, vous êtes accueilli par un plan d'étage ouvert avec salle familiale, cuisine et salon qui s'ouvrent tous sur un grand patio et une piscine grillagés par des portes françaises. Les trois chambres à coucher un très grand meublé avec 1 lit King dans le maître, 1 lit Queen et 2 lits jumeaux dans les chambres d'hôtes. Ces deux chambres d'hôtes partagent une salle de bain magnifiquement rénovée avec baignoire. La salle de bain principale a une grande douche à l'italienne et un placard. La grande cuisine avec bar à petit-déjeuner s'ouvre sur le patio par des portes-fenêtres et est équipée pour tous vos besoins de cuisine. Profitez d'une sérine et d'une atmosphère calme au bord de la piscine donnant sur le lac ou faites de la pêche au large du quai.

Beds so comfortable, great shower, responsive host, convenient location, pool was warm already did not pay for heating in February. Pool needs skimming if you are swimming since trees leave debris, but skimming net is there and easy. Overall it was a nice experience and a reasonable fee. Will go again

Pool was great, could use a hot tub, happy to help install when we return next year! Due to freezing temps the weeks before the lease were dropping quite heavily but we bought a better pool net and all was good. Pool service person was great. Cleaning could have been better, some things were clearly missed. Kitchen was great, plenty of plats and silverware, could use more coffee cups.

We didn't want to leave!

Our stay here was perfect. Location in a mature neighborhood with everything you need just a few miles down the road. And Anna Maria Island is 15 minutes or so. The house was clean, had plenty of room, a well stocked kitchen with plenty of utensils, plates, cup, etc., and a private pool in the back.

Great Sleep and Loved the Area

Pros Plenty of space, Beds great, Showers great, Pool awesome, Stocked kitchen indoor/outdoor sets of dishes- Pots/pans-plenty of silverware, glasses, Keurig and Drip coffeemakers, plenty of pool towels, 2 Smart TV's. Location close to everything- great walking from rental to DeSoto Memorial. Cons Could use more coffee mugs- only 4, beach chairs need replacing, Pool screening needs replacement- there are so many types to choose from-too many leaves and tree debris was in the pool- especially if windy- and no seeums- holes in screen.

Green algae filled pool

We arrived to find the pool green with algae and the outdoor furniture filthy. We called the next morning to report the problems. No one showed up to clean the pool until day 5 of our stay. It finally cleared the day before we checked out. The furniture was never cleaned despite our request. We were given a $100 refund, which was unsatisfactory. The reason that we chose the property was for the outdoor room and pool. Think twice before renting this property. The management is unacceptable.

Dirty house

The house was not cleaned. Found food on tables and floor in living room area. Dirty smelly dish cloth and towel in kitchen. House not ready upon arrival, bedrooms not done. Broken dryer. Very noisy washing machine. Paid for pool to be heated, that did not happen until the day before we left. When the pool cleaning company came. Outlet in master bathroom did not work.

Unfortunately not worth the cost!

The property is beautiful and the lake and the pool were definitely a plus. Unfortunately, MANY outlets and switches in the home did not work and I couldn’t figure out how to fix the issue, even with changing the light bulbs. The pool screen was torn and there were many mosquitos finding their way in at night. The grill looks to be used and not cleaned and there is a large black smoke stain on the wall above the grill. There is also a neighbor that has a daughter that frequently rang our doorbell and looked in our windows and also climbed on the back dock and got into the pool cage and was looking in the back glass doors. Even after speaking to the mother and the property manager it continued to happen. It’s unfortunate because we did enjoy the property aside from the issues but we don’t plan to return on future stays.

Not what I expected

As a first time VRBO participant, I have to admit I was rather disappointed when I arrived at our property. I was traveling with my elderly mother, so there were some very specific items that I looked for in the house that we rented. One of them being a screened in enclosure over the pool area. Upon arrival we discovered they had taken down the enclosure and just put up a half fence With no gates just openings into the yard and down to the dock. All of the pictures that are posted online show a beautiful enclosed screened area. This was a huge disappointment. Once I started cooking in the house, which again is another reason that we rented a house and not a hotel so that we could have meals at the home The stove continue to pop a breaker. It took several days to get someone to come out and look at it only to tell me yes, it keeps popping the breaker, that we will need to contact an electrician. I was scheduled to leave the next morning at that point I didn’t care anymore. All of this meant that the food I had purchased to cook was going to waste. The washing machine also sounded like all of its bearings were gone, and it grind terribly every time you had to do a load of laundry. Other than those issues, the house was clean. It is not as bright and shiny as it looks in all the pictures it is dull worn down, well used, but it was clean. Beds were pretty comfortable however, the lack of response from the host would keep me from using this company again.

Unplanned Stay

This turn of the century house was large and in a nice neighborhood. Being on a canal was also a plus. The pictures of the pool were not accurate. This was because the pool cage had been damaged in a hurricane last year and then torn down.In the title of the property it says heated swimming pool. In the fine print, it said that you had to pay to heat the water in the pool. I missed that. I was willing to pay to heat the water, but it would have increased the temperature of the water 1 to 2F in 24 hrs. So the description of the pool in my opinion was not accurate or complete. Having a pool was one of the main reasons we chose this property to stay at.In the master’s shower, we could not get the hot water to work. We called the facilities management company, but no one came to fix it or even gave us a call back to check if we got it working.The televisions were connected through a satellite. So each TV had 2-3 controllers to get a picture on the TV.There were no instructions on how to use them.I could not get the TV in the living room working. I called and reported it to the facilities management company. They said they would research it and get back to me. No one called me or a technician sent over to show me how to work.In the last two VRBO stays, I have had issues with properties that were managed by a third party. The issues were never resolved.

We're glad to hear that you enjoyed the charm of the turn of the century house and found our neighborhood and lake front setting to your liking. It’s always wonderful to hear that our guests appreciate these aspects of their stay. We sincerely apologize for the issues you encountered, particularly regarding the pool and the hot water in the master shower. We show in our records that the hot water is reversed in the master shower, this is noted in the property information provided 1 week prior to arrival under the "quirks" section. There is no pool cage currently as it was removed after the hurricanes last year. This is depicted in the pictures. Pool heating is an extra charge but it is not "in fine print" it is at the end of the description with several other key points. Pool heat would not change the temperature of the pool 1 to 2 degrees per 24h as you stated. Its 1 to 2 degrees per hour. so to take it from 70 to 84 would take 7 - 14 hours depending on the temperature outside. Thank you once again for your valuable feedback. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back in the future for a more enjoyable experience.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a wonderful stay at the Desoto house in June 2018. Plenty of room for all 8 of us to spread out. The rooms were larger than we expected. The saltwater pool was wonderful and relaxing -- we swam every day. The "lake" behind the house was a nice feature and added to the relaxing feel of the house. The kitchen was well stocked with pots and pans. There is a grocery store just a 5 minute drive from the house and we made several meals at the house. There is a nice supply of beach stuff -- umbrellas, chairs and towels, which was great. We left several floaties behind for the next family to enjoy. The house is just an easy 10 minute drive to Anna Maria Island and Manatee Beach, which was beautiful and fun to visit. We drove to Saint Armands Circle on Lido Key for a fun day of shopping. Would recommend the Anna Maria Oyster Bar for a great meal and terrific service. We enjoyed the Rod & Reel Pier for the food and the dolphin sightings, but not for the fish being cleaned and thrown to the birds right next to us as we waited for a table. A few notes about the house: It would be very helpful to have a laundry basket available. More labels on the light switches would be helpful. The only real downside of our stay was having to take out the previous guest's garbage, which was full of maggots and made the garage smell terrible. It would have been much nicer if the cleaning service had taken it with them when they cleaned the house. Management was prompt and helpful responding to questions.

Disappointing

The property was not particularly clean and is undoubtedly in need of repair and update. Some of the power outlets and lights were not working with circuit breakers out in the main panel. The pool screen was torn in several places (which other reviews suggest has been the case for many months). The garage stank like something had died in it, and the pool pump and heater were not working, an issue which was reported but not addressed satisfactorily. The absence of a garage door remote was annoying, but not a major issue. Virtually every other rental property provides such, if the garage door is motorised. Overall, the poorest maintained and appointed of 18 properties we have stayed at in the area over 20 years.

This place has such great potential!

We arrived on Friday night and had no Internet. The pots and pans were filthy and/ or burnt, the kitchen faucet and sink have rust on them, the outlets on the island weren’t working, the sheets in the master bedroom were dirty, the screen over the pool had an opening by the dock, the trash can was broken, and there was no air conditioning (this was in June). Because it was the weekend the property management company was not available. When they came out Monday evening, they gave us new sheets, a new trash can, and put in an order for the router to be looked at by the service provider, and for the air conditioning. They were able to go to the breaker to resolve the outlets on the island not working. Apparently a storm came Friday before our arrival and lightning hit the house knocking out the router and the air conditioning. The air conditioning was fixed Tuesday evening. Unfortunately the internet service provider wasn’t able to come until Wednesday. So we only had Internet for 2 1/2 days. The property management company was very apologetic and gave us a partial refund without us having to ask. The house is right on an inlet, so if you like fishing you can fish on the dock. The house is also close to the beaches and restaurants, which was quite nice. The owner of the home has left a lot of wonderful pool and beach equipment. Unfortunately they were filthy and covered in dead insects. If the equipment was maintained and perhaps a little bit of remodeling in the kitchen and master bathroom, this place would be a gem! I do appreciate how pleasant and responsive the property management company was.

Best location for me, very close to the people I was visiting.

It had everything I needed, except a garage door opener.

Spacious and organized

Sleeping, home layout, and recreational spaces were well thought out and very comfortable. There were many small appliances that were either old, broken or unusable - just needs a little purging in the cabinets. Laundry was fabulous. We would rent the space again.

Not what we were expecting... please read before renting.

Property has a lot of promise, however, it needs some serious upgrades. Pros •plenty of room with comfortable beds. •plenty of towels and kitchen equipment •nice neighborhood in an older community on a pretty private piece of property Cons • front main room blinds do not go down so it felt like anyone could see in. It didn't feel private at night while watching TV. •there is an ant problem in the house. They did have ant traps all over the house, but you aren't expecting that for the price you're paying. • the heated pool kept flipping the breaker and was only warm enough 3 days out of 9 that we were there. We were refunded for the full amount we paid for the pool, but sadly we weren't able to use it as planned. We wouldn't even have rented this place without the pool. • there is a brand new deck behind the lanie, which is nice, however that was rebuilt for 2 days while we were there also taking our privacy away. There were construction guys smoking out back and walking around the pool and front of the house using extension cords. Extremely uncomfortable when we were just wanting to relax. Recap My sister and myself rented this house for our dad and us to get away because our mom just passed away a few weeks before and we just wanted to go somewhere we could relax. Sadly, this place was a let down. I travelled for work all last year and rented many places...this one was by far the worst for the amount of money that was spent.
