Leaping Waters - peaceful home located along the West Canada in Barneveld, NY.

We purchased this home after it had been severely damaged by a fire. Initially, we though we would “flip” it. However, as we spent time remodeling it, we came to love it and decided we wanted to keep it. We did things well, and spent a lot of time and energy on the remodel, paying as we went. We have come to love this quiet little neighborhood with no streetlights, the big backyard, walking trails, and especially the sound of the "leaping waters" in the back. We have endeavored to make this home a place of peace and relaxation and are ready to share it with others! In this way, we will also be free to enjoy it ourselves, and host relatives when they visit upstate NY.
We have three bedrooms, all upstairs, two with queen beds and one with a full-size bed. All bedrooms have a closet space with hangers. They also have either a dresser or armoire, pedestal fans, and alarm clocks. All bedrooms also have usb ports in the lamp(s) for cell phone charging convenience. Update: We have recently added air conditioning units to each bedroom!
Our upstairs bathroom is a true beauty from ashes story! It was the location of some of the worst fire damage and is now a place we have chosen to add some extra touches for enjoyment. There is a deep soaking tub, a mirror that changes color tones and brightness, and even bluetooth in the ceiling fan, so you can choose your music as you relax in the tub! There is also a large shower, along with soaps, shampoos, and even some specialty soaps and lotion.
Downstairs is the living room with a queen sofa sleeper, a loveseat, two recliners and a smart tv with wifi. We do not "subscribe" to any channels, but you are free to login with your own account. We are not so much into tv, but some guests did recommend it, so we recently added it. We do enjoy streaming music on YouTube!
The living/dining room are open and there is a dining room table that will easily seat eight. There is also a pellet stove with pellets provided for coziness and warmth in the cooler seasons! Update: We have recently added an air conditioning unit downstairs in the dining room area.
The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you should need for cooking a light meal to preparing a full dinner, with pots and pans, bakeware, plenty of dishes, an electric hand mixer, crockpot, etc. There is also a coffee bar that is fully equipped with coffees, teas, mugs and a kurig/coffee pot. We have a small dropleaf table by the bay window in the kitchen where you can enjoy the backyard view while you have your morning coffee!
When you step out onto the side porch, there is a large table with six chairs under a roof, still a nice spot if it's a rainy day! The deck wraps around the back, uncovered. More chairs are here for additional seating. Theree is a gas grill for your use. You will see the backyard is large and beautiful! There's a fire ring in the yard that you are free to use. There is also a deck that wraps from the front of the house around one side with some additional seating. When out back you will see and hear the birds singing and hear the sound of the West Canada that runs below at the back of the property! We have seen heron fishing in the creek and occasionally bald eagles flying nearby.
We are continuing to improve this property and hope that all who stay enjoy it as much as we do!
