Respect for the property and house. Kitchen left generally clean on departure. Dishes and pots and pans washed up before departure. Personal food items removed from fridge and cupboards. Garbage bagged and left in kitchen on departure day. Furniture left as found and all household items returned to there place of origin,ie. Libray books, puzzles, board games etc. Important to appreciate the house water comes from a well and sewage goes into a septic feild. Good enviromental habits and pratices should be engaged for water and septic

Pretty well perfect!
We couldn’t believe our luck when we opened the door for the first time.
Simply a beautiful, welcoming home that we loved instantly and we had a wonderful time both inside it and outside with the incredible sunset views and the gorgeous morning sunrise from the amazing three side veranda - just move your chairs around and follow the sun!
This home had everything you would ever need for your stay - including a kitchen that had it all in order to cook to your hearts desire.
And the view...
Did I mention the ocean view?
We had usually stayed in another part of the area on our NS visits but we are now stuck on this properly as our absolute go to and very much look forward to our next time.
So close to our favourite beach anywhere (Crescent Beach) which is just a short drive, bike ride or nice walk) from the property.
Just the best experience we could have hoped for.
Lovely big house with lots of history, set in a beautiful cove, surrounded by nature with easy access to water for paddling.
Great location to explore the islands and the surrounding villages, galleries and beaches.
Nice big kitchen to prepare meals. We were lucky and could enjoy beautiful dinners and sunsets on the veranda every night.
Perfect spot if you want nature, water and tranquility. An area to discover and return to.......
Our only comment, the mattress in double bed could be updated.
Summer get-away to the south coast of Nova Scotia
Our family totally enjoyed this property - its seaside, tidal location, the solitude, the beautiful flowers and trees, the quintessential maritime feel to it all, sunsets from the porch, brilliant night sky, distant foghorn, every view a potential watercolor. A wonderful retreat that we wished we could stay at for more than a week! The house is very nice, knotty pine walls and ceiling throughout, a nicely appointed eat-in kitchen, comfortable living room with tons of books and games and a stereo system, a lovely wrap-around porch with seating. 3 bedrooms upstairs accommodate 5, and a nice bath with deep tub and large shower. Loved the furniture and decorations. Only cosmetic negative is many of the door and window frames still need finish mouldings applied. This is no way detracts from the functioning of the house, and easily ignored.
Beware of the mosquitos - more prevalent than we expected, but the house is surrounded on 3 sides by the tidal zone so kind of understandable.
Nearby beaches and villages are all fun to visit. A real laid back vacation feel to the area. Many things to see and do, or do nothing at all and be completely undisturbed! Lunenberg is about 45 minutes away, if you hit the every 30 minutes cable ferry just right in LaHave, which has a great bakery and art galleries. Crescent Beach is really neat and the mud flats on the other side are great for digging clams. Fantastic kayaking in protected coves among the several islands.
Did I mention the flowers and shrubs and trees? The lupines around the house were incredible in early July! Just a beautiful environment and a great place to explore. Our family was 100% on returning to Fool's Cove!
Awesome place and awesome experience.
Our stay from July 17 -21 was perfect! My wife and I (from Ontario) were visiting our daughter and boyfriend who live in Dartmouth. The cottage on the Lahave Islands was a perfect get away and completely relaxing for all of us. Lots to do nearby if you wanted (Crescent beach, Lahave bakery, Lunenburg, Winery) but also a perfect cottage if you just want to relax either indoors or out. Our host left the place spotless and ready for us to enjoy. the decorating of this cottage is just what you would expect from a maritime location, lots of interesting photos, books and everything in its place! Would highly recommend this for anyone and although the photos included are great they don't really do it the justice it deserves.
Had a great time and will be back!
Idyllic spot - lives up to description!
We loved our stay at this cottage. Very comfortable and beautiful views. The kitchen was well stocked with most things we would need and every corner of the cottage has something interesting to look at or read. And the views of the bay are spectacular. Also the surrounding area is terrific - driving through LaHave and stopping at its renowned bakery, driving across the causeway to get to the island, past a spectacular beach (and along the way, we spotted some fox kits who were waiting for their mom to come home - just adorable!). Driving up the road to Petite Riviere was delightful and we enjoyed a stop into the vineyard for some wine tasting. We could have done much more, but frankly we just enjoyed hanging out at the cottage. Can't wait till we can come back.
