Welcoming host, very helpful instructions for everything. The lodgings were pleasant and very well kept and stocked. The bedrooms, kitchen, and bathroom were all small, but the living room was big enough to hang out in, which was really all one needs. Everything worked, all was clean. Superb location. Fair price for the fantastic location - about half the price of well-priced hotels. Recommended.

Sparsely furnished
We stayed in this unit for 1 week in May, 2014. The unit has both pros and cons. On the plus side, the location, was ideal -- on a quiet side street in the German Colony, convenient to public transportation and cabs. The apartment is very spacious, clean, and the owner was responsive to requests for information. On the cons, the furnishings and decor were sparse -- to the point of monastic. In particular the only lighting in the living room was one overhead light, and the only living room seating was the one sofa (which was quite dirty). Also the TV cable/satellite service had no English language channels, although there perhaps 100 Arabic channels. Kitchen utensils for those not keeping kosher were also rudimentary (no sharp knives), and 3 of the 4 burners on the stove were anemic. So if your primary concerns are the price (reasonable), neighborhood (excellent), having a kosher kitchen, and having space to move around, this may be the apartment for you. On the other hand, if you value comfortable surroundings for lounging between sightseeing trips, you may wish to look elsewhere.

Dear Hung, I can of course understand that the apartment was not to your taste, but it looks exactly as it does in the pictures appearing on the Vrbo website, nothing more, nothing less.
Did you see them before your colleague booked?
Regarding the other points, it's too bad that you didn't call us/email us during your stay: we could have explained to you how to watch the English channels - there are more than 400 English channels - and we could have fixed the other things/bring everything you need on the same day (as you can see in our other guest reviews, we are very responsive)

Fabulous location and comfortable apartment for great price!!!!
Benyamin is an honest and responsible man who was easy to get in contact with when needed. The apartment was clean with fresh sheets and towels. The natural light was amazing and the apartment was comfortable to come back to after a long day by leaving the trissim partly closed and windows open. Air conditioning worked well. One adult and 3 kids fit nicely, 2 adults and 3 kids was a bit tighter, but doable. The bathroom, especially the shower is very small, but clean and good water pressure in shower with hot water. Also, doable.
Loved the street! One one end you have Emek Refaim with cabs, buses, stores, supermarkets, restaurants, bank, etc. on the other end you have the beautiful walking/biking path with benches and an outdoor lending library set up in an old bus stop! Two more affordable supermarkets are just a 10/15 minute walk away and we found parking on our street everyday! Get the Cellopark app. Would stay here again.

Definitely best location!
We spent a pleasant week staying in Benyamin’s apartment in Jerusalem. The location was perfect -right off of Emek Refaim and close to everywhere we needed to be. The apartment was nicely equipped and features a balcony with great bird watching views. One of the nicest aspects of the stay was that Benyamin made available to us much information about Jerusalem both before and upon our arrival. Without it we would not have realized a wonderful walking trail was at the end of the block.

Great base camp to explore Isreal
Quiet, nice district, several small grocer's nearby, nice restaurants abound, First Station even open on the Sabbath, nearby free shuttle to Dung Gate, #18 bus quickly gets you to downtown. The apartment itself is adequate for one's needs, you did not come all the way to Jerusalem to sit inside.

Loved this apartment!
My husband and I recently stayed in this lovely apartment. The pictures on VRBO were inviting. We like the white decor and the light coming in. We loved the location. There are plenty of restaurants and coffee shops nearby, and the Old City and City Center are a nice walking distance away. The apartment has a lot of light, was clean, and comfortable. The owners are very accommodating. We would stay here again.

The best place to stay in Jerusalem
This wonderfully light and beautiful home is in the heart of the German Colony. The location is fantastic and the unit is very attractive and reasonably priced. It is the perfect location to walk to the Old City, Ben Yehuda Street, the Promenade and Jaffa Street. It is surrounded by beautiful gardens and the birds sing every morning. The owner is most responsive and has prepared a wonderful set of materials to make your visit special. You won't regret renting this unit and will return again in the future.

Sweet Masaryk, we already miss you...
From the pictures and reviews online we were already quite confident about this venue but we were pleasantly surprised to find that it exceeded our expectations. Benyamin was very helpful both before arrival and during our stay and the apartment was immaculately clean and very homey. Just sitting on the porch in the cool hours of early Jerusalem morning made our stay worthwhile. For anyone looking to fully experience Jerusalem - with its quiet residential streets right up against its vibrant thoroughfares, this is your place.

Cozy apartment in great neighborhood
This apartment provided everything we needed to feel like a local in Jerusalem for a week. It was very clean and convenient to everything. The little balcony provided a great place for breakfast each morning. We bought croissants and challah from the bakery down the street! We also walked up to the restaurants and playground at First Station on Shabbat. We were surprised at how many places were open and close to us. Benyamin was a great host and answered all our questions quickly. We would definitely stay again.
Although it is close to a main road, it is very quiet. Access to everything (markets, cafes, buses, taxis) was easy. The 18 bus came frequently for direct trips to the Old City and Mehane Yehuda markets. We could even walk back from Mt Zion and the Old City in about 30 minutes. Coming from Tel Aviv, we found it easy to take the train to Jerusalem. The 18 bus from Jerusalem Malha station stops at the top of the street. Otherwise a taxi just takes 15 min.
Great apartment, clean, convenient and very quiet. It was exactly as pictured. We'll be back next time we return to Israel.

Awesome apartment and location
This apartment and it's location made our trip so much more enjoyable. The apartment is sunny, with cross-breezes in the evening, and if it ever gets too hot during the day the air conditioning works great. The location is steps off of Emek Refaim- groceries, restaurants, Jerusalem Pool, the best little shops. And a half block in the opposite direction is the HaRakevet (walkway- greenspace) where my kids could run and there are no cars. There are 2 paths one for walking one for biking. They lead to First Station ( 10 min walk) which is awesome- restaurants, shops, free events, rides and playhouse for kids. Very well done. Across from First Station is the public park- also very nice with a huge skateboard/scooter park. First Station also has a FREE shuttle to the Old City. So you never have to look for parking! This is really the place to be!

Our family of five stayed in the apartment for 5 nights. The location is excellent and easy walking distance to everything. Number of great restaurants and shops in the area. Benyamin was very nice and accommodating - answered all of our questions. Washer and dryer was helpful to have as well. There are small grocery stores right downstairs and also across the street. The apartment is great in an unbeatable location...

HOME AWAY FROM HOME
We stayed there for 8 nights and found the apartment to be very comfortable and a superb location. Good air conditioning is available. Satellite TV was also available and a good reception for the internet with wifi available. This is our second time staying in this apartment. The owner assisted us in every way from the very first contact and was very helpful in all our inquiries. The property is located about 20 minutes walk from the Old City and 2 minutes from Emek Refaim where there are multiple restaurants, shops and a good supermarket. Buses and taxis are readily available on the main street.. We will be returning to stay here again.

Great apartment within walking distance of the old city

Great apartment in a fabulous location
We loved our stay at this beautiful apartment in the German Colony. The location was perfect (near shops, restaurants and a supermarket with easy bus service everywhere) and the apartment was just as pictured. Killer location, Lovely Landlord
This flat could not be more perfectly located. Metres away from bustlig Emek Refaim, with it shops and restaurants and the wonderful Rakevet promenade which winds all the way to the Jerusalem Zoo in one direction, and a short walk away to the new Tachanah, with even more shops, restaurants, outdoor entertainment space and amusements for little ones. The landlord, Benyamin, is responsive, responsible, and ready and willing to help make your stay as pleasant as possible. The flat was clean and tidy, bright and airy, and is fully equipped with everything...

Excellent, relaxing, great location
I loved this place, great kitchen, washing machine for clothes, private balcony, all the things you could want in the German Colony. The entire apt was clean and in great condition. Couch, dining area, all great. One thing that really stood out was the organized info book for the guest, for the washing machine, wifi, etc. Supermarkets, restaurants, shops, all close, but the apt is secluded and quiet.

Sunny stay in Jerusalem
The apartment was exactly as advertised. It was clean, bright, and comfortable.
We chose this rental primarily because of the location- near Emek Refaim and the many wonderful restaurants, and also the price was competitive. The owner was helpful with the questions we had.
