Please review rental agreement in the house rules section before booking.
Guest Access
Apartment is an above garage apartment that requires walking up a set of stairs to access.
Summer:
In summer, access the apartment by walking through the garden and up to the large deck off the back of the apartment. No garage access except by special request.
The Alpine Apartment is conveniently situated a mere 5-10 minute stroll from Blueberry Lake and the Blueberry Lake Trails, making it an ideal location for paddleboarding, kayaking, canoeing, and fishing during the summer, as well as offering stunning views of the fall foliage in autumn.
Garages:
Garages are primarily storage for owner with a space for guests to leave their boots and recreational equipment in winter only. Otherwise, garages are not intended for guest use.
Winter:
In winter months guests enter through the garage bays and head upstairs to the apartment. A makeshift "mudroom" is set up in the heated garage entrance for guests to leave recreational equipment (skis, snowboards, boots) in winter.
-------------------------------------------------
DRIVING/VEHICLE REQUIREMENTS
In SUMMER and AUTUMN 4-wheel drive is NOT NECESSARY but please know the last 0.5 mi is a dirt road.
In WINTER all vehicles MUST HAVE 4-wheel drive and winter tires. It is a steep dirt road the last 0.25 miles up Hillside Road.
Please avoid driving up Hillside Road without a 4-wheel drive vehicle in winter. Those who do so during winter and subsequently get stuck will incur a $200 fine. While our neighbors are kind and helpful, they do not appreciate the road being blocked unnecessarily.
One parking space is typically available (though not guaranteed) at the hill's base for guests who opt to park their vehicle there and either walk up or catch a ride with another guest. When I was a kid, it was common practice in winter to leave the Prelude at the bottom and do shuttle runs in the Isuzu!
During MUD SEASON (the time when everything thaws as the earth gets ready for spring, typically sometime between late March and early May) it is RECOMMENDED to have a vehicle with a higher clearance and 4 wheel drive. Also, during mud season both vehicles must park in the lower driveway.
Driving in Winter:
Please know it is a steep road to our driveway and all vehicles must have all wheel or 4-wheel drive and winter tires in winter. The last 0.5 mile to the cabin is a public dirt road that can be challenging during mud season (a Vermont season that occurs after the winter thaw and before spring takes hold).
Other Details to Note
This apartment is across the road from the Kismet Cabin. A great opportunity to rent both places for multigenerational families, wedding parties, and friends while maintaining privacy. There is only one other property on the end of road and it is currently unoccupied.

Qui vous reçoit ?
Vous ĂȘtes reçu par Daisy Scarzello

This was my father's property, and we spent my youth visiting for ski vacations and summer days at the lake. I loved Vermont so much that I moved here after finishing High School and never left!
It has been a family effort to revitalize the property, tend the gardens (my first gardens 20 years ago!), and finish my father's projects. It warms my heart to open this space for others to visit and create new memories!
When we're not working on the property, we're usually out adventuring with our three girls - biking, swimming, building snowpeople, catching salamanders...
In our free time, I'm usually brainstorming new projects with my husband, working on our garden, or designing a new space.

Quels sont les atouts de cet hébergement ?
Details...outside and in.
A lot of love is put into every inch of this place, inside and out. The daughter of a landscaper and woodworker, I greatly appreciate fine craftsmanship and put my all into every aspect of the property.
I have made it my mission to cover the detailsâwhether it be making sure there is dry wood and kindling for the fire pit, keeping the gardens mulched and weeded, supplying everything you need for that first cup of vacation morning coffee (or tea!), kitchen staples to get you started, or beach towels and chairs for a day at the lake, just to name a few.
Situated across the street from our Kismet Cabin, guests have the option to rent both places to accommodate a larger group.
The Alpine Apartment boasts a beautiful garden with fire pit that is great for catching some afternoon sun and roasting marshmallows under the starry sky.
There are only 3 properties on the road, and 1 is unoccupied, making it a very quiet and peaceful getaway.
