Walking distance (700 feet) to Tar Hollow State Forest, 32 minutes from Hocking Hills, while only 20 minutes to all your shopping - this is a spacious, relaxing, private retreat. U.S. Marine Corps Veteran couple owned - with 3 years of Super Host experience. This place is set up to have everything you need for a home away from home. Internet, propane Grill, several TV's, fire pit, balconies, swing set & trails to hike a little on with a hot tub to come back to.
This is a 1st Class cabin, with a rustic yet modern feel with a beautiful balcony overlooking courtyard as well as nice loft with two grand bay windows to allow nature to shine in day or night and still be completely private.
There is a hot tub, a pool table, a ping pong table, retro video arcade games and an assortment of board games for your enjoyment. Over 200 dvd's/blue ray discs available to watch along with smart tvs and internet.
The entire cabin is yours for the duration of their stay. The only shared amenity is the trails over our seven acres of woods. The hours of the trails are from 9 am until sun down. Please don't use the trails at night for your safety and for the privacy of the other cabin.
We do not live on site but we are only a text message away to answer any questions and respond to an emergency. We have a great track record of keeping everything first-class and we seek to have everything ready and available for your convenience.
Very rural and wooded area - nestled up on a road that dead-ends into a trail leading on the Tar Hollow State Forest which is a bridle/hiking trail. Neighbors are barely visible in the winter and not visible once leaves are on the trees. Right in the middle of 7 acres midway up a tall heavily wooded hill.
Coming off of U.S. 50, head north 1.4 miles on State Route 327 going, then left and go 1.7 miles on Poes Run Road, then take a left on Skaggs Road and go .3 miles where the driveway will veer off to the right with a wood arch over it and side fences.
There is plenty of parking - even enough for a couple of trailers and several cars. There is a switch back which can be navigated best by fully pulling forward at the switch back (lots of room for this purpose), and then backing the rest of the way up.
There are seasonal bugs. Some years there are locusts, some years are Japanese lady bugs, and some years the stink bugs are swarming. We do all we can to keep the place bug free, but this is the woods and they do get in. Field mice all are all over and we make every reasonable attempt to rid the cabin of them if they get in. You can help us by keeping the 1st floor door closed. Please understand, this is something that comes up and is different every season.
