Landmark Lodge - Lake Blackshear - minutes from Ga Veterans State Park!
Spacious, with two living rooms, two dining spaces and stunning views off the over-water deck. Perfect for longer stays and multiple families. Situated over Lake Blackshear, Landmark Lodge is located just down the road from the Georgia Veterans State Park. Enjoy swimming and fishing off the dock.
The entire house was very dark. There was a fan/light fixture in the bedroom where we stayed. Even turned on, it gave virtually no light. The only way to get light was to open the shutters -allowing anyone outside a clear view of whomever was in the room. All rooms were similarly darkThe kitchen theoretically had under counter lighting-ONE worked! There is a tripping hazard posed by the steps from the first living area to the kitchen/second living area. One step is very high while the second is maybe two inches high. Even adults were constantly tripped; I canât imagine children not being hurt. We finally put a dining chair in front of the stair to remind us to be careful. We had intended for guests to use the upstairs bedroom and bath. But when we went upstairs, the stair treads were very narrow as well as circular. The bannister wasnât completely secured so it shook and gave a feeling of insecurity. We looked inside the attached bath to find a VERY deep jacuzzi tub and above it a pipe out of the wallboard. We figured it was for a shower but there was NO SHOWER HEAD!!! And surely, an older adult would have trouble entering and exiting such a deep tub.We also would have appreciated the grass being cut and the shrubbery trimmed to allow cars to enter without being scratched on both the property we rented as well on the (apparently unoccupied) house (?) on the front of the property. There is a large long-dead tree on the property.
The smoke alarm was chirping when we arrives. They were unable to get someone to fix until the next morning. Other than that we had a great time. The location was excellent. Could use different furniture in living room. The recliners did not work and uncomfortable. Will visit again.
We enjoyed our stay at Landmark Lodge. The home was beautiful, spacious, and at a great location. Beautiful View with our morning coffee out on the balcony and Amazing sunset in the evening. Looking forward to our next stay.
Ground floor amazing...large kitchen and roomy great room. Plenty of dishes and glassware. Some of the cookware needs to be replaced. The bedroom upstairs with the garden tub was perfect. There is not a shower upstairs which is challenging since everyone did not want to use the tub Amazing sunsets.
Had a great stay on the lake. This cabin has everything you would need for a small group or larger family vacation. Even when the lake is down you have water to the dock. Had a pretty succesful fishing trip just off of that dock. Bream, shell cracker, crappie and cats.
This house has the most incredible patio and views!! Itâs on the cutest lake and right next to a great state park. The mattresses were new and the kitchen was pretty well stocked. The photos on the listing should be updated because I was pleasantly surprised when we came in to see the condition of the home. The downsides-the carpet is severely stained everywhere and really should be replaced. The walls and ceilings are peeling in places, etc. A little bit of money put into this place-carpet, paint, updated furnishings and it could be awesome! The Host was very responsive. We were grateful for a safe place to stay during hurricane milton. This house is full of excellent potential!
