Grandfather Mountain Vista

Spectacular views to the east (Grandfather Mountain, Linville Gorge, the Blue Ridge Mountain Range) and west (Tennessee Mountains) at elevation 4,100' make for breathtaking sun and moon rises + dark sky views of the Milky Way. Quick access to Linville and Newland for restaurants and groceries, to Appalachian View wedding venue (7 minutes), Sugar Mountain (17 minutes) for skiing, tubing and alpine slide, to Valle Crucis for shopping at Mast General Store (MUST GO!) and all around you for some of Appalachia's best hiking trails to magnificent waterfalls and mountain tops. Our log cabin is modern, warm and cozy, has a wrap around porch on the first floor with a hanging bed, lounge chairs and a BBQ grill + a second floor deck with porch swings and a table for two that makes you feel as if you are at eye-level with Grandfather Mountain! There are two Great Rooms with plenty of room for everyone to stretch out, enjoy the views, watch TV or find a quiet place to call your own. The upstairs Great Room has a trundle bed (two single beds) and a couch with two reclining sections. The kitchen has all the major appliances and dining areas that can seat up to 10 (if you like to bake, you need to factor in the elevation!). Each bedroom has its own private, full bathroom + there's a half bath close to the kitchen. Each floor has its own washer and drier. Each room has a Smart TV, there's free WiFi throughout + we have a good collection of books, maps and board games. Step inside for the comforts of home... step outside into the wilderness or play Pickleball at the new community courts!
