The Village of Quogue, founded in 1659 came into its own as a summer resort community in the 1890s a period known in the Village as the boarding house era. Today, Quogue proudly stands apart from the "Hamptons Scene" focusing as it always has, on wholesome family oriented activities. The Village of Quogue, incorporated in 1928, is positioned 40.82 degrees north of the equator and 72.60 degrees west of the prime meridian (40 degrees 82′ N, 72 degrees 60′ W).
