We absolutely loved our stay at this gorgeous home in Sayulita. And it is a "HOME", so thoughtfully decorated and cared for, we truly felt relaxed and comfortable during our stay. Each room having AC, as well as it's own toilet and shower provided ultimate comfort, privacy and efficiency for the whole family. Karen's instructions were incredibly thorough and set us up for a worry free visit. The pool was a definite highlight of the home and our whole family enjoyed this feature greatly. We opted to rent a golf cart for transportation and went into town and back several times a day. We found it to be a great location for feeling close to the action while still be able to disconnect in peace when we needed a break from the excitement of the town and beach. I'd highly recommend renting this home.
The property is beautifully situated on a hill overlooking the ocean and the bay. The hill to get to it is steep but most of our family walked it up and down often, while others chose to use a car. The bedrooms are beautifully appointed and each has a convenient private bathroom. The pool was a life saver when we wanted to just hangout, swim, read or enjoy the sunset. The care givers were available when we needed a couple of things and it was very lovely to have them attend to the house a few times during our week's stay. Close enough to town to walk there and enjoy all that it has to offer and yet remobved enough to enjoy a sense of calm and privacy when that was desired. Highly recommend!!
When our family walked through the front gate, the view immediately made us squeal with excitement. (Ok the boys were already busy chasing tiny geckos but I definitely cheered.) The view and pool were absolutely gorgeous. There was clean, fresh drinking water delivered right upon arrival. As for the casa, it was so thoughtfully curated with authentic Mexican design- tiles, textiles, artwork, bespoke furniture, etc.. I really appreciated the overall aesthetic. Every room has character and the beds are very comfortable. Many rentals have cheap furnishings that look expensive in photos; this one, on the other hand, has decor cultivated from local artistry and craftsmanship in Sayulita. The hill to the home is steep but nothing too dramatic...in fact, we had a full family workout on it to help burn off all the ridiculously delicious local cuisine. Karen was incredibly responsive through email and we will definitely be back with friends to enjoy their amazing home again.
We had an amazing time during our stay. The are is beautiful and easy to navigate and Karen was very easy to communicate with. Only caution is that the hill to the house is STEEP. Close enough to town to make it walkable and Iâd stay there with my friends again any time, but probably not the best for people with bad knees and donât want to rent a golf cart.
This home was perfect for our two families to enjoy a week long vacation in Sayulita. It a great view overlooking the town and ocean and is relatively short walk to town, although we rented a cart to get around. We would happily stay here again.
The whole property is so beautiful and the pool is so enticing it was hard to pull away to explore Sayulita. Karen responded to all my questions immediately. Because our stay coincided with Sayulita Days and a fair, the nights were very noisy. Karen had warned us about the noise and offered to let us cancel. I would recommend avoiding celebrations in the future. Still the tranquil days made up for the noisy nights. The hill is a bear to climb but my daughter pointed out that âblue zones â noted for longevity are often hillyâbuilt in exercise. I am pushing 76 and consider myself in good shape but that hill definitely helped raise my heart rate We mostly ate in taking advantage of a supermarket stop on the way to the villa. It was great not having a car to deal with. Plenty of great shops near by with produce, grilled chicken, and bakery goods. Overall this is a great spot for a family vacation
The house is beautiful and in a great location. Definitely get a golf cart to get around! Owners provide plenty of info to ensure your prorated for a great stay. Views are wonderful!
This was our first time staying in Sayulita for the whole duration of the vacation ( we stayed and visited before for shorter periods) and we loved it. The property is on the steep hill so beware if you are older or have some mobility cocerns but there are golf carts rentals and as for us it was a welcomed excersise after nightly and daily tours of local bars and restaurants. Property is beautiful and the owner was very helpful with local tips and information and some minor issues we had. We love Sayulita!
This house was awesome! The views are impeccable and the pool area is great for hanging out (biweekly pool service kept it nice and clean). The kitchen is well stocked for your groupâs needs (we made several holiday meals here) and the bedrooms are all comfy and cute. If we come back to visit Sayulita, this house will be a big reason why. Both the owner and house manager were very responsive to any questions we had and the every few day cleaning service was a nice benefit.A few additional notes:1. All of the shared spaces are outdoors, which is super nice (the weather over Christmas week was perfect), but also means you need to make sure to clean the kitchen and securely store food, otherwise you may have some new critter friends2. The hill to the house is steep, but manageable (5-8 mins walk up from the main street depending on your health). You should consider renting a golf cart or just pay for a taxi ride up from town if that doesnât sound like your cup of tea, but definitely donât let this dissuade you from this place. The views from up there are incredible, especially for whale watching (saw them most days) and sunsets.
Pacific Ocean view like youâve never experienced!!
Wonderful home and incredible views from most any point on the property. Pictures on VRBO do not give the property itâs due. Home is very clean and property is kept up.Karenâs information about Sayulita and how to navigate weâre spot on and made our getting around much easier. Would stay there again in a heartbeat. Five stars and donât have to give it a second thought!!
Our entire extended family made this our Christmas gathering. The house worked well for 6 adults, a 5-year old,and 2 one-and-half-year olds. We cooked in the well appointed kitchen, had Alma provide a lovely meal, enjoyed the pool, the ability to close it off for the children when needed, loved the outdoor living and the fabulous views. The climb up and down the stairs was doable carrying kids and possible for fit grandparents, making town accessible. Christmas in town was fun but crowded, so it was great to return to our oasis. Thanks for a lovely stay.
This house is wonderful. We loved the outdoor living area, the view of town and ocean, the art, the pool, everything. It was nice to be able to get out of the busy town and enjoy the view from above, but a short walk to town when we felt like joining the party (the way home takes a bit longer due to the stairs). Alma and Jose Luis were so helpful and easy to communicate with. I recommend requesting a dinner or two cooked by Alma if you have a large group and want to eat at home. Her food was truly fantastic. The house was perfect for our two families with teenagers. We would be lucky to stay here again someday.
Les points faibles : Communication, emplacement, exactitude de lâannonce
the listing is nothing short of fraudulent.
Location is misrepresented, road impassible, infested with fleas, ants and mosquitos, its a disaster! NO internet! roof leaks and floods upper bedrooms!!!
Perfecto! Absolutely everything was perfect. House was the best appointed kitchen we have ever had, with sharp knives and all the cooking essentials (no microwave, but we never needed one during our stay).
Beds are comfortable, such a treat to have crisp cotton sheets. We were so impressed that bedding and towels were changed out mid week. Pool and view exactly as shown on VRBO.
Owner has been wonderful, we originally had booked last year, but needed to cancel when COVID numbers peaked. She refunded our stay promptly as indicated in cancellation policy. We rebooked this fall and owners were fabulous to communicate with.
House is perfect, as long as renters are aware that it is on a steep incline, with a rugged path to the street and 129 steps. Helped us burn off calories for sure.
Our family of 5 (kids 15, 11, and 8) had such an incredible time in Sayulita! We loved staying at Casa Del Cielo - the open air concept made us feel right at home in nature with gorgeous views everywhere we looked. When we weren't out enjoying the fun of Sayulita, the kids pretty much lived in the pool and we loved joining them and also relaxing on the large patio in one of the many lounge chairs. There were so many options inside and out for us to relax and enjoy family time. The bedrooms were spacious and immaculate (we actually had too much room - we could have easily had another family with us). Karen was a joy to work with - not one single problem, but I imagine if one had arose she would've solved it immediately! We loved everything about this house and would highly recommend it (as long as you're prepared to either rent a golf cart or tackle the large hill - we actually enjoyed the sweat and burn from the hill and knew an inviting pool was our reward at the end!).
This house by far exceeded our expectations. Karen the owner, couldnât have been more caring and accommodating. The caretakers Alma and Jose Luis showed us the most amazing hospitality. The views are incredible! The kitchen comes fully equipped. My husband is a chef and even he was impressed. It was very kid friendly for my 4 and 1 1/2 year old. We felt safe and well taken care of. This house is a short and adventureous walk into town/beach. Although we enjoyed Playa de Los Muertos the most. Itâs a very short taxi ride and an enjoyable walk back. I would recommend this house and this location to the fullest. Only warning is the hill, but itâs good for you and worth the view. We swam probably 4 times a day. It was almost too perfect but thereâs no such thing! I definitely agree with other reviews saying the pictures donât do the house justice. So roomy and incredible!
We just got back from a 10 day stay. We were a group of 9 ranging from early 50's to 16. We loved our stay here. The open air concept was so nice. We had more than enough room for all of us. It has everything we could want and then some. The view of the ocean is amazing. The pool is cooler than the ocean but after the trek up the hill it sure felt good to hop in and cool off. There is tons of seating inside and out. The wifi worked very well. We even watched Netflix a couple of times. The trek up from town is definitely a work out and I would recommend renting golf carts if you have mobility issues. The view you get and the break from the busyness of the town is very worth it. Karen is very quick to get back to you with questions and provided a very helpful overview with everything from how the house works, the best places to eat, where to find different things in town. We referred to her list frequently over the course of our stay. The only thing to remember is not to leave anything out (food wise ) overnight because it will be gone in the morning. As some smaller critters can get in. We weren't upset because we knew that being open air that would happen. Amazingly enough we didn't really have many bugs and things coming in as we had thought there would be. We were pleasantly surprised. The bedrooms were comfortable and each one has its own bathroom. They are not open air and we felt secure at night. The fans kept us nice and cool and we never felt it was too hot.
All in all we would definitely recommend anyone to stay here. Top notch rental and host.
Such a great property away from town just enough. We spent time at the beach but also just laying by pool. Owner has lots of great info for town. Great for families!! We will be back!
My family of 4 (2 adults, 2 kids ages 7 and 12) LOVED our stay at Casa del Cielo. The home is beautiful and had everything (and more!) necessary for a relaxing week in Sayulita. We all enjoyed swimming and admiring the amazing view. We found the Wi-Fi to be great for the bit of remote work and school we needed to take care of while there and the satellite TV was nice even though we did not use it much.
The kitchen was well equipped, and although we didn't do much cooking we certainly could have. We enjoyed Karen's recommendations for the area and also arranged for Alma to cook us a delicious dinner so that we could eat in and enjoy the amazing sunset together.
Sayulita is growing, so we did hear some construction noise from time to time, as well as dogs and roosters - but we expected that and did not find it to be too bothersome, but if you are sensitive or wish to sleep in, perhaps take Karen's advice and bring some earplugs.
We hope to return and would like to bring friends next time (the house is certainly big enough for 2 families).
This fit the bill for our family reunion. Location is great for getting to town and beaches. ba
The setting for our family met our inter generational needs. We used both golf cart rental and walking to get back and forth from town and beaches.
Relaxing at the pool after time in the sun was delightful. The view of the ocean let us see whales just migrating south. The variety of birds seen while sitting in the patio chairs was cool.
Keep food inside cupboards and refrigerator so that the insects and animals donât find it. The kitchen has all the pots, pans, eating dishes & utensils that you need.
Ownerâs information about food & restaurant locations was helpful. Donât hesitate to reach out to her. She responds quickly.
House keeper, Alma, cooked us a delicious dinner. So worth it for our large group.
Casa del Cielo is an absolutely beautiful property!! Like others have said, the pictures truly do not do the property justice. Having your coffee in the morning or enjoying a glass of wine or margarita at sunset looking out over that beautiful view was probably the highlight of our stay there.
The house is in a traditional Mexican style and is so beautifully appointed. You can tell the owners pay attention to details and have a wonderful home, from the decor to all of the little things needed in a house you plan to cook in for a week (like us). The house is very well maintained and has everything you will need!! The pool, patio and garden area were wonderful. It was so nice to have your own private pool area that also has a sunshelf/ splash area for littles. The pool does need some love, but the owners informed us they plan on addressing for future guests. The house is completely safe and secure despite being open to the elements. Please make sure you know this is an OPEN AIR home, which means NO air conditioning and any animals that may be included in that. Lol. We were fully prepared for that and had no issue. There are tons of fans to manage even the most humid of nights (we visited during the most humid part of the year). The wifi worked well and there was cable although we barely watched TV with that pool and the view. The owners were wonderful with the entire process from beginning to end. I particularly found their suggestions for food, medical, conveniences, shopping, etc. unbelievably detailed, thorough and extremely helpful.
The location and proximity to town cannot be beat. It's high on a hill but amazingly close to town at the same time. We mostly used the back garden steps down to the town and found that was the quickest way to get to town, at most a 5 minute walk. I can imagine anyone with mobility issues may find it difficult to manage the steepness from the house to/from town from either entrance to the house on foot. We were just fine on even with our 5 year old. However, I would recommend a golf cart for anyone with mobility issues or who don't do well on cobblestone streets or uneven pavement. Anything you need is probably within two blocks of the house in either direction...groceries, food, beer/liquor, fresh produce, fresh tortillas, fresh fish, pharmacies, health center, shopping, etc.
Thank you Karen and George for allowing us to stay in your beautiful home!! Unforgettable experience!
Without a doubt, this was the most beautiful week that Iâve been able to enjoy on the Pacific Coast of Mexico.
Karen is a delightful host and Alma is simply wonderful.
Sayulita is a colorful, active, lively place-made so much more comfortable and soothing by a lovely stay in a beautiful home.
Everything from arrival to departure was simply wonderful.
Immediately upon my return home I began to plan my next trip.
Thank you Karen, Alma and Jose LuĂs! In a brief time, I felt like part of the community and I will definitely return!
C.P. and Family
We were blown away by the beauty, authenticity and generosity of this house. Situated atop a steep hill, 10-15 minutes away from town and the main beach, this house was perfect for our young family but also for a larger group. Every detail of this home was beautiful in a very authentic way. We were very impressed by the small details of the home, from the art to the furniture to the fact that we had jugs of fresh water and tooth brushes. The owner and the house keeper were both top notch regarding performance and communication. This home made for a spectacular vacation and we could not possibly recommend it more.
We are a Colorado family who have been vacationing in Mexico for over 40 years. We fell in love with Sayulita over 30 years ago and were very fortunate to be able to buy our home in 2005. We are so happy to be able to share this magical spot with people from all over the world. Our Casa is our part time home and you will find it has everything you need to feel at home too.
Sayulita is a wonderful town and personifies all that we love about Mexico. It is so easy to get to Puerto Vallarta from all over the US and the short drive up the coast sets the scene for the vacation experience. We always feel a thrill when we turn off HWY 200 and make our way under the Sayulita welcome palapa. Less time is spent traveling and more time relaxing. When we first saw the house, we saw its potential, fell in love with the views and saw a garden transformed into a lush tropical respite. We have continued to work on the house since day 1 and our frequent repeat visitors love to see what else is new.
