Welcome to the Bluebird Cottage in LaPorte, IN. This vacation home provides ample living space for multiple families and friends to get together. Situated on 4 acres of land, including full court basketball, games, a large treehouse, firepit, screened in porch, and a huge inground pool! This house is made for entertaining! A quick drive to Pine Lake and downtown LaPorte with easy access to New Buffalo and Michigan City. Nearby countless golf opportunities, restaurants, and activities for all ages.

Pool is open Memorial Day through Labor Day each summer.

For the price in this location we were really happy. I liked the sprawling layout with lots of places to sit and talk. It was homey, comfortable and welcoming. I would happily return. Loved the pool and screened in porch.

The host was very easy to communicate and gave quick responses. The area had no power for days but they have a whole house generator that ran everything including the pool. Definitely recommend for all age groups.

The property was great for our family with eight adults and seven small children. Each family had their own bedroom with multiple beds and space to spread out in. The hit of the weekend was the swimming pool! All the kids loved it and we made great family memories! It was also nice having the barn with games and space for the kids to run around and play in as we had a rainy day when we were there. Would definitely recommend for a family trip. Great to make memories in!! Close proximity to town, outlet malls, and Michigan city Beach

Great stay!

We had a wonderful stay the property. There was plenty of room to hang out with family, and still have our own separate spaces. There was a slight mix up with check in but the host was great and resolved the issue. Would definitely stay here again!

Heaven in LaPorte

Wonderful property, between pool, and basketball court there is always something to do with your family. Should you need to get out of the house, beaches and boat rentals await at nearby Lake Michigan and other local inland lakes.

Very nice house!

I couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay for my bachelorette party! Both the house and the pool were very clean. Christine was also very responsive and accommodating. I would definitely recommend staying here!

Our family of 14, 8 adults and 6 kids, had a great time. Plenty of space for sleeping, eating and playing. The pool worked out well too. There are only two bathrooms which for 14 of us was only a little inconvenient but we made it work out fine. There was plenty of hot water to go around.

Perfect Bachelorette Weekend

We had an amazing stay! There were 11 in our bachelorette party and we had PLENTY of room for sleep and fellowship and eating. The pool was clean and easy to navigate. It was HOT outside the weekend we were there but the air conditioning was strong and kept us cool inside. The property was beautiful and we saw a lot of deer which was special. 10/10 recommend!

An amazing stay !!

My friends, family and I booked this home for a short weekend birthday celebration and it was the perfect spot. The home is very spacious with plenty of room for everyone to hang out and have their own spaces. Tons of parking space, beautiful kitchen with high end appliances, and a very spacious pole barn. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend for a getaway with things to do for everyone all ages!!

Family Vacation 2025

We were happy to find this property which accommodated all 15 of us! The house itself had many areas where small groups could gather. The outdoor space was large and private allowing our grandkids to run and play to their heart’s content. The highlight being the tree fort, pool, and pole barn. Having a washer/dryer and additional freezer was very helpful. We would definitely come again!

Bachelorette

We stayed here for my cousins bachelorette weekend and it was perfect! The house had enough space for everyone. There are also so many outdoor hangout locations as well. Everyone raved about how comfortable the beds were. We all talked about coming back for a girls weekend because of how much fun we had. Highly recommend staying here!

Wonderful time

We were able to sleep all of our VB players and coaches in beds! Hard to find such a property with lots to do at the house and we had lots to do. Pool, basketball full court, pole barn, games, TVs Great time Thanks for having us!

Birthday celebration

Location to beach was great. I believe it’s still a “work in progress” to be a rental. Needs some updating, uncluttering and cleaning. Overall we had a great time enjoying family.

Perfect house for a weekend getaway with a large group! The space was beautiful and very clean. Lots of different areas in the house which made it extra perfect for a large group. The pole barn full of activities was a huge hit! Unfortunately the pool heater wasn’t working when we were there, but it was on the chillier side outside so that was to be expected. Also of note that there are only two restrooms for a large group but that didn’t bother us. Would definitely recommend to others!

Family quality time

We stayed 1 night in August with our family, total of 15 of us and I have to say this place was wonderful!! Christine was so great about getting back to us about everything. We have stayed at other vacation homes with the same amount of people, but this house has so much room that everyone was able to have their own space, and not even all the beds were used! You do not have to worry about feeling crammed here! The house was very clean and nicely decorated. The host literally has thought of everything anyone may need, everything was well stocked. There was also so much room for the kids to run around outside and have a good time! I must mention the barn where there is a pin pong table and basketball court, as the teenagers loved it. I'm used to the teens sitting on a couch on their phones, but not here! I would definitely recommend anyone looking to spend quality time with their families in a beautiful environment to stay here.

Adequate but needs some attention

We couldn’t find any forks and other utensils because they were left in the dishwasher. Towels were missing as well, as they were left in the dryer but whomever did the laundry. Hosts should’ve emptied the dishwasher and the dryer and not make us do that. Furthermore, the day before our trip we were given a list of requirements: stripping the beds, placing all towels in the laundry room, etc. We paid a cleaning fee and yet, we did housekeeping upon our arrival AND before leaving, per hosts demands. The property sits on an extremely busy road, so if you are looking for peace and quiet, this is not your place. The noise is impossible all day and all night. Property is adequately equipped otherwise, but don’t expect the pool to be welcoming, as it is surrounded by mud and you are not allowed to touch the water heater, so it is not “heated”. Bedrooms are comfortable, with plenty of sleeping spaces for a large family reunion, but kitchen is somewhat lacking. Bring your own baking pans if you want to bake a breakfast because there is none. Bring your own paper towels also - you won’t find any. Mostly, arrive prepared to fold the towels left in the dryer and put dishes away left in the dishwasher.

we really enjoyed the space. It worked well for our family. We particularly liked the large gathering spaces and tables we were able to enjoy each other’s company easily in this house. The pool was great for the kids. And they enjoyed every minute in it. They also really liked the playhouse and swings. it was very close to Michigan city where we enjoyed the zoo, the Barker mansion, and the Indiana Dunes National and State Park. We found many enjoyable restaurants as well. overall, you were pleased with the house it’s location and it’s price.

The pool was the highlight of the property! We appreciated how warm it stayed and the floats and towels provided. The kids in the family also enjoyed the tree house and barn toys.The beds were comfortable and we enjoyed the size of each of the rooms. The kitchen was well stocked with mostly everything we needed. It would have been nice to have some plastic/kids cups to use.We were not aware that one of the bathrooms was only accessible through a bedroom, making logistics with a large family a little difficult. There were also a few cleaning things left unfinished when we checked in (wet towels and bath mats in the dryer, dishes in the dishwasher) and we would have appreciated a few more washcloths for the number of people staying in the house.The host was easy to contact when checking in and was quick to resolve the lack of hand soap and paper towels in the house. We had a question when checking out, but did not receive a response until after we had left the property.Overall, it was a great house for an extended family gathering and we really enjoyed our time there!

Our family of 12 really enjoyed our stay. The weather wasn't great but that didn't stop the fun. The awesome barn with golf, ping pong and other games filled our time. Having a heated pool was wonderful since the temperatures were in the 70's. One thing we were really impressed with was how stocked the kitchen/house was.There were plenty of places for us to sleep and the large family room was great for all of us to gather. The only negative thing was that there only 2 bathrooms and one was very small. Overall it was great, my grandson cried when we were leaving, he had so much fun.

This is a great space for a large group! We had a three-day family reunion, and everyone enjoyed swimming in the pool, playing games in the screened porch, and hanging out in the large sitting areas. The youngest family members loved the tree house, the playroom, and the swing set! It’s a comfortable, welcoming house that provides lots of outdoor space, parking spots, and privacy. I would recommend it!
