La plupart vacances Unique Accueil à Saint- John!

Situé sur le bord de The Narrows à l'entrée du port de St. John, un beau et unique maison de vacances située dans la maison d'un ancien gardien de phare à Fort Amherst - le site du premier phare à Terre-Neuve et l'un des sites les plus photographiés de la province. Cette propriété est l'une des deux maisons de vacances exploités à la Station Lumière Fort Amherst. La résidence du gardien de phare est également disponible à la location, s'il vous plaît visitez notre liste au vrbo # 469496.


Maison entièrement rénovée, magnifiquement et décorées avec goût. Deux chambres (une avec un lit king-size et une avec des lits jumeaux), chacune avec une télévision à écran plat, canapé-lit, deux salles de bain complètes, cuisine entièrement équipée, barbecue, lave-vaisselle, laveuse / sécheuse. Le pont avant avec vue sur Signal Hill et le havre. Asseyez-vous et regarder les bateaux entrant et sortant St. Harbour John. Profitez de l'observation des baleines de notre grande terrasse arrière donnant sur la spectaculaire océan Atlantique. Selon la saison invités chanceux auront une vue imprenable sur les icebergs le long du littoral. pointez sur la East Coast Trail d'entrée à quelques pas.

Wonderful location, cosy and comfortable!

The view directly of the lighthouse and entrance to St. John’s harbour made this home the best place in St John’s! The king size bed was SO comfortable, and all the facilities perfect for our needs. We stayed 3 nights, had the full range of weather from rain, fog (complete with foghorn!), snow (in mid-April!) and then beautiful sunshine, but we enjoyed it all. If we come back to St John’s, we will book again!

Wonderful

What a wonderful, cozy cottage with an amazing view. You're able to watch boats go in and out of the harbor as well as the expansive ocean and coastline to the south.Easy to get to and close to many restaurants and shops.The cottage itself Has nice, large windows.

Lighthouse & ship watcher's dream

The ability to watch and hear ships come & go from this fantastic view point is beyond belief. Artania's, cruise ship, one long blast plus two short as she SALUTED the Harbour upon her departure and again as Signal Pilot, the pilot vessel, left her starboard side to return to the Harbour. The fog horn was like music to our ears and upon return one day discovered that we couldn't hear it from the chain's location down the road. It was like the sound was just for us and those on sea ... another great memory. The l/r windows offered views of the Harbour and the Atlantic and the kitchen window, over the sink, the Atlantic too. The "port hole" type window in the side hall provided a perfect photo frame for ships and rainbows too. So glad that my sister found "you" and really enjoyed the view and the location too. Our hosts went above and beyond and their help and feedback was appreciated more than words can say. We definitely enjoyed our stay and would recommend it over and over again. Thank you, thank you very much for sharing this slice of heaven.

A dream of ours!

My husband spent some years serving in the International Ice Patrol, flying in and out of St. John's. He has had a beautiful, framed print of the Amherst Lighthouse on the wall in his office for about 20 years. We were so excited to see the property available as a rental, when we planned our trip. The house is very comfortable, with lots of windows to watch the ships going in and out of the harbor. The kitchen had all the appliances I needed to prepare meals. The supply of condiments and bottled water was an unexpected bonus.

Total Immersion in Nature

A unique experience. Staying at the assistant lighthouse keeper's house allowed us to be a few metres from the ocean. It was a quiet and serene experience. A perfect place for reflection and peaceful coexistence with nature. We watched the ships go past in the harbour and saw the St. John's waterfront and Signal Hill on the rock from a distance. A memorable vacation.

Awesome location and home. Weather was great. One night of rain and foghorn - Hurricane Ernesto passed by. The horn was not bad at all. Sounded a bit like a train in the distance.

An amazing location and wonderful home

The pictures on the VRBO site don’t begin to tell you how amazing this location in St. John’s is. We stayed 12 nights and never tired of looking out the windows. The view changed constantly, as the St. John’s weather is always changing. Amazing foggy views, amazing clear weather views, amazing sunrise views, amazing nighttime views. And… on top of all that the house is very well done, in great (like new) condition and is very comfortable. A home run stay!

One of a Kind

Comfortable accommodation in a one of a kind location. No better spot to watch the ships come and go from the harbour. Close to the city without being in the hustle and bustle. And if you get caught out in the fog, you can just follow the sound of the fog horn back to the front door.

Location is everything!

Hard to oversell this property. There are advertised ocean views, ...and then there is this property. Well appointed, clean and comfortable, it makes for a perfect base to enjoy Saint-John's. And you have a front row seat to everything that comes and goes through the narrows! The property is very private, being located on a rocky bluff as it is. You do get the odd foot visitors who come and enjoy the spectacular views, but it's really not an inconvenience as yours are the only vehicles allowed. And the side deck is very private. About the lighthouse and fog horn... they are both operational aids to navigation... it does add to the charm no doubt, ...but the fog horn can become a bit of a thing if you're unlucky with the weather. Ear plugs help some, but its quite loud (.. as it should be). The views and feel of the place more than made up for what was an, er, interesting first foggy night on our stay. We'd happily roll the dice on the weather again if given the opportunity though. The views are that good.

Stunning views, beautiful clean home with perfect amenities. The sound of waves on sunny days and the fog horn in the mist were atmospheric and oddly relaxing. Owners went above and beyond to accomodate us and make our bucket-list trip memorable.

Amazing location!

We can’t believe we had the opportunity to stay in this one-of-a-kind home! It was comfortable and relaxing inside and spectacular and exciting outside. Watching huge ships and small boats motor in and out of the harbour, being steps from the lighthouse and foghorn, looking up at Signal Hill just across the harbour…unforgettable!

Panoramic View...

The property is on a point of land that overlooks the ocean. Be aware that there can be fog there and the light house is right beside the property which adds to its charm. We had plenty fog and were serenaded by the fog horn. I enjoyed the horn, actually. It just becomes background sound even through the night. The fog is even a magical thing the way it moves! We also had beautiful sunny weather so stay for a few days to catch a variety of weather conditions. We enjoyed it all very much. The entry to the property is narrow so check in in the daylight to get your bearings. Beds were comfortable. Very clean.

Best view in St John’s!

I can’t imagine a more exquisite place to stay while visiting St John’s. The view of the harbor, boat traffic, the sea, gorgeous lighthouse, and the East Coast Trail a few feet from your door. The assistant lighthouse keeper’s home is spacious, clean, with comfortable beds and a full kitchen. Do bring ear plugs in case of fog-the fog horn is required when it is dense.

What a lovely way to spend a vacation in St. Johns
