Lovely lil stay in the county. The place was super clean, stocked with basics (spices, oil, coffee, cooking supplies. The beds and bathroom were clean and comfortable. We didnât get a chance to use the hot tub because of afternoon storms but perfect for a getaway.
House was clean. Everything needed to cook. The owners responded quick to our questions. Beds were comfy. We used the hot tub that was nice. If your going to the Sand Dunes it's about 40 mins drive. I recommend staying here.
This property is not for seniors. Fall risks and most bedrooms are upstairs. No AC, fans cooled by the second night. Lovely setting, nice decor, well kept grounds.
A wonderful place to stay while enjoying the San Luis valley.
Your hosts are wonderful, accommodating and can answer probably any question you have about about farming barley and potatoes. We will definitely stay here again. It should be noted that there is only a claw foot bathtub, which is wonderful for baths but somewhat difficult to get into if you have any mobility issues. There is a shower curtain, so once in all is good!
Nice place in a remote location but still close to Alomosa and Monte Vista and the Sand Dunes are about 30 minutes away down some county roads. Wish we could have stayed longer. It is definitely an older farmhouse feel and has been nicely updated but still has the old charm with creaking floors, etc. but nicely done. Would always prefer a real shower instead of the claw foot tub and shower curtain surround but wasn't that big of a deal.
Wonderful home, we really enjoyed our experience. Stayed here with my wife for our anniversary and went to the dunes. Inside of the house was very clean and tidy, great amenities, we really enjoyed the electric fireplace in the master bedroom. Yard around the house was a little messy but we understand renovations were going on during our stay. We really liked the cat that came to greet us as soon as we pulled in and didn't hardly leave our side while we were outside, very charming! There isn't much nearby for quick groceries or things to do but if you're looking for a place to stay this deep in the valley you're probably expecting that/
It is very apparent by the updates to this property that the hosts have put a great deal of time, effort and love into ensuring that their guests are comfortable. The house has been modernized and is super welcoming. There is only one bathroom, but that's to be expected with a farmhouse of this generation. Everything was just perfect.
This property is a wonderful place to stay! Extremely clean and well appointed with everything you need in the kitchen, new washer and dryer, new dish washer and very comfortable beds. The bathroom has a lovely porcelain cast iron tub! The location is very quiet and is a working farm, where you can see the barley seed being grown for Coors beer. Your host, Taylor, is very helpful and very quick to reply to any questions you may have. If ever I am back in the San Luis Valley and need a place to stay, this week be the place!
