If you're looking for outdoor adventure, it's located right by the entrance to Pinnacle Park, which is a strenuous 7.4 mile trail that travels up to 3,000 ft in elevation. You can also visit several places to fish or tube on the Tuckasegee River, many spots for hiking or mountain biking. If you'd like to travel around to neighboring towns, Cherokee, Waynesville, and Bryson City are all very easy drives.
