Perfect little cottage for a get a way for two. Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves in this cozy quiet
space with a great deck and view. Very low pressure easy place to enjoy and relax. Nice artwork too.
Great location and view with a lovely owner but difficult access.
This cabin has a great location and view, but it only suitable for fairly athletic guests. Access is down a steep (45 degree), perhaps 50 yard long rocky path. My wife and I are 78 & 81 years old; we made it up and down, but particularly with luggage or groceries it is hazardous (I fell twice), and I don't know that we could have gotten our luggage back up without the invaluable assistance of the owner's assistant. There is a rope which is helpful but just reduces the climb to acceptable (and which doesn't help with luggage). The cabin wasn't especially clean; our first purchase was a dust buster. Direct access to the water is down a steeper path; an easier route is to go back to the top and around the corner. Under the circumstances I think it is overpriced which I hate to say since he was so gracious to us, but I have an obligation to possible clients.
Throughly enjoyed our stay here. Peaceful, quiet and beautiful views. Loved watching the changing tides. Plenty of lobster shacks within a short distance if you donât want to cook your own. Joshua was great to work with and enjoyed meeting him. Would definitely recommend this property.
Location, deck, deck furniture, views, access to water, and kayaks were wonderful, 5+ stars. Because we spent 90% of our awake-time outside, we had a great stay. The inside of the cabin is not so great. Kitchen, bathroom, and dining-area furniture were old and ill-kept, 1 star; for example, peeling paint on the dining-area furniture. Bedroom was barely big enough for the bed and we slept in the bed in the living area. The cabin had mice, one of which got trapped in a pot at night, keeping us awake until we finally found it. The cottage is cluttered with the owners stuff, much of which is nice, but there was barely a free surface anywhere. Baskets and lamps hang from the ceiling and we were forever knocking our heads on them. The cabin is terribly over-priced. We picked the cabin in part due to its high cost, assuming that this meant that it would be really nice inside. It is not.
A perfect place to unplug. My wife and I spent a few days here with our 15-year-old daughter. We all loved it. Joshua was very attentive to our needs.
Thanks for sharing your beautiful cabin with my family.
Lovely small cabin on top of a cliff over looking a beautiful bay. My husband and I had a few days here while our children were away at camp. It was perfect for us. Although there are a number of houses in the area the cabin felt quite private. Great food options in the area from lobster on the shore to award winning dining. Kayaking in the bay was wonderful. Only negative was the closeness of the regional airport.
We rented "On the Rock" and were absolutely delighted. The cabin exceded the descriptions written by the owner. The charm of sitting on the deck and watching the ocean's tides and sunsets was amazing, peaceful, and unforgettable. The owner supplied ample accomodations and answered questions about the area with knowledge. We would highly recommend "On the Rock" to anyone wanting a peaceful getaway in mid-coast Maine.
