Iâm not the type who has an âentitledâ personality; however, I am strong believer that when I spend my money in the hospitality industry, there is a level of respect and professionalism I feel is due to the guests. With that being said, upon arriving at the property, I noticed that the grass hadnât been mowed. I called to inform the host (Belinda) of the matter, she said that flooding from a previous storm prevented the landscaping company to cut the grass. I was not pleased with the response; however, I understood the situationâŠnot a big deal. Upon entering the property, the layout and decoration were as pictured on the Vrbo website; however, I ALWAYS inspect the bedding, bathroom and kitchen. As my daughter and I were getting ready for bed, I pulled the comforter down and noticed that the sheets had various oil stains and it appear clean. I wasnât comfortable sleeping under those sheets so I decided to remove the bedding and wash it myself, as I removed the bottom fitted sheet there was bloodstains and dirt on the mattress cover. I called Belinda to inform her of what I saw, she tells me that she will speak with the cleaning company and have someone bring sheets to us in the morning. I requested someone bring laundry detergent so I could wash the bedding myself because I did not trust the ânewâ sheets being clean since there nasty sheets and mattress covers that should have been washed in the first place. Upon arrival and noticing a smell in the kitchen, we messaged that the dishwasher WAS NOT CONNECTED TO WATER and that there was a leak under the sink cabinet from which there was a strong smell. The response: THE DISHWASHER AND THE DIVING BOARD DO NOT WORK. We asked for clarification and were advised that a plumber would be called and were asked our availability to meet him during our vacation! That didn't work out so the owners said they met the plumber on day 3 of our stay while we were out. There was still no water inside and a layer of sludge on the bottom. We were told the plumber needed to return two days later to fix the leak and again look at the dishwasher. That appointment was cancelled. The smell of mold in the kitchen is disturbing. Neither the leak or the unconnected dishwasher are new issues. Communication was not easy. The number provided in the welcome message doesn't work but the owner insisted it did so I had to use detective work to find a way to reach the owner, which message were ignored until I told them something they wanted to hear. The house sleeps six...There is dinnerware for four. ONE coffee mug. No commodities except dish soap for handwashing dishes.no dish sponge. There was food ON THE FLOOR and on utensils in the drawers when we arrived. There are insufficient towels. A closet door not properly installed almost fell on a child when opened. I could go on but reached the limit of characters. At best, the accommodations were disappointing.
