This location was perfect for rendezvousing with friends to begin our week-long wilderness hunting trip. Amanda was a very responsive and welcoming host. The updates and remodeling give this older house a tasteful and modern look throughout. The upstairs bedrooms and bathroom are roomy and clean. The living, kitchen, and eating areas on the main floor are clean, welcoming, and have all the basics for relaxing and hanging out together. It was great to have on-site laundry available. Thank you for providing that amenity! As a note for other guests that might have mold allergies or sensitivity to strong odors, the main floor and basement (laundry area) do have a musty smell. However, the upstairs bedrooms/bath smell just fine. This was a great spot for our group and Amanda was an excellent host. We will keep this on our list for any future trips we take to Fairbanks.
Everything worked great but the building is old. Floors are uneven; the entire house smells musty. There is no cross breeze and the house stays very warm. The box fans do not help. Street racing starts around 10pm.. lasts until 2am.. then the motorcycle racing starts.
House was exactly as described. All the comforts of home and location was perfect to explore Fairbanks and surrounding areas! Thank you for your hospitality!
The place was nice. But bathroom on second floor was hard. It was also cold. Tried to turn heat up from 68 but couldnât. Wasnât fun sitting with jackets on to watch TV or just talk. Otherwise it was very nice
This place has potential because the location is great! However, it was disappointing to arrive and find the grass uncut and weeds two feet high along the fence and the building. We were told to use the back yard but there were no chairs for the deck and the grass was higher than in the front. The basement door was left open to draw up cooler air but all it did was make the house smell like a cat litter box. There were two fans which were much appreciated on those hot days. The house was clean upon arrival so kudos to the housekeeping staff.
Amanda is from Alaska, Adam is from California. We enjoy having family time. In the cold winters, we're playing games or doing crafts. In the Summer, we're taking the family camping, fishing, hiking, or just getting outside for a quick walk.
It's a family friendly neighborhood. There's schools, playgrounds, and hospitals nearby. There's also restaurants and the movie theater within walking distance. We also live pretty close so it's convenient and we know it's a nice area.
