Had a great time with family. Everything was as advertised; very nice gas grill, fire pit area, hot tub, cabin was clean and stocked as advertised. Only negative thing was the WiFi was very weak, as one would expect but as soon as you drove not too far, you could pick up a signal. Two thumbs up, would definitely go back.
The photos couldn't possibly show all the details in this wonderful cabin, from the log toilet paper holders to the log desk, and beautiful pictures and decorations throughout, it was heaven. Very clean. Firepit area was great and there was enough seating provided. 2 parents, 2 kids, 2 grandparents and 2 dogs. Everyone was impressed! Our dogs were super curious of the outside surroundings and wanted to explore more but managed to stay close for the most part. It was very quiet and secluded, but plenty of activities and places to eat within 15 minutes of the property. I would definitely stay here again.
The house layout allowed us to have our space yet the onsite fire pit and hot tub and nearby Hocking Hills hiking options allowed us to connect on so many other levels! My 30+ year old kids and 3&6 year old grandsons loved everything!
We had an amazing time at John's cabin. It.was VERY clean and well maintained. The weather was a little warmer and we had some issues with flies, ladybugs and wasps in the cabin and the hot tub was very cloudy and we were unable to use it. Aside from those two minor issues it was a fantastic time and I highly recommend staying here.
The home was excellent! Just as described. Very secluded from the other Cabins. Big and spacious with room enough for our 6 person family. Plenty of extra linens and towels. Great outdoor areas for relaxing and dining. The only downside I would say is that the hot tub seemed to be a bit dirty. We would definitely stay again as it was a perfect fit for what we needed!
With our kids (all adults) spread over 3 states, we decided on the Hocking Hills area as a good central point for a long weekend get together. The cabin fit our needs perfectly. It was absolutely clean and had great gathering areas. The beds are comfortable and the bathrooms are bigger than expected. If youâre deep into cooking, you may want to check with the host as the basic utensils were there but nothing beyond that. The gameroom beds are great for kids but would leave little privacy for adults. Would we stay here again? Absolutely!
Our stay at this private cabin nestled in the woods was wonderful! The host John was great, the house was clean and decorated very cute with a lodge feel. The only upgrade could have been a larger kitchen because we like to cook a lot. This was our first time in Hocking Hills and I would recommend John's VRBOs and we would like to come back!
Best weekend here. Enjoyed family time with all the amenities. The cabin is beautiful and well appointed. Everything we needed to prepare meals, shower and sleep great were readily available. The host was great to work with and provided us with all the information we needed to prepare for the weekend. We are looking forward to coming back!
The cabin was more than I expected. It was clean, with everything you need for your stay. It was in a beautiful setting. We were there to hike at Hocking Hills. Loved the hot tub, the fire pit and fireplace. Loved the log cabin home. The picture posted doesnât do the home justic
What a beautiful REAL log cabin! Very clean and wonderfully decorated and furnished with plenty to do for the whole family. We loved the arcade games and the fire ring. Very comfortable and private. Everything in this cabin was top notch! Will def return when we come back to Hocking Hills! A
The check-in process is simple and good. The cabin was clean when we arrived. The kitchen was stocked with more than what we needed. The Wi-Fi was excellent, enough parking for 4 vehicles. I would advise anyone staying there to bring napkins and Kleenex. We also brought extra towels and that was good.
Great property to stay at for our family. It only took 15-18 minutes to get to any of the Hocking Hills sights. It was quiet, comfortable and surrounded by trees making it very private. Three cars parked easily on the property.
Perfect location to various towns and all the hiking one could ask for. Everything within a 10-18min drive. The property was immaculate and our family enjoyed the games, fire pit, porches and hot tub. Communication with the owner was great. Would highly recommend this cabin to anyone looking for the perfect spot for a secluded getaway!
We had a wonderful time staying at Scenic Solitude in Hocking Hills. The cabin is new and in great shape with a convenient location to get to most of the hikes. We will come back!
The cabin was perfect for our family's long weekend. Lots of room for us and our kids. The hot tub and arcade games were a big hit. The location was great for easily getting to Hocking Hills trails. The owner was great to work with and he was very responsive. I'd definitely return in the future.
We had plenty of room for my husband and I, our three adult children, two of their significant others and our two small dogs. Take note that the two twin beds are in the game room that goes out onto the lower patio and have no privacy (which the kids didn't really enjoy) if you plan to have adults sleep in them. We knew this going in though. We enjoyed the fire pit, the hot tub, and the arcade games. We liked that the cabin was newer and not worn out from lots of years of visitors. The location was convenient to Hocking Hills. You could hear your neighbors if you were both outside, but there was a good distance between the cabins which we loved. The towels and washcloths could be upgraded as well as an addition of some extra bed pillows. The large dining table was perfect for all of the games that we played. I can imagine how beautiful the colors of the trees surrounding the property will be in the fall. The kitchen was well stocked with items needed for cooking even though it was very small. We prepared all of our meals there which was nice so that we could really enjoy just being at the cabin. We appreciated that there was plenty of dish soap, dishwasher pods and hand soap stocked so that we didn't even have to use what we brought. It might be helpful to have bigger rugs at the doors so that mud isn't tracked in as easy. It was muddy due to a lot of rain while we were there so I had to keep mopping up the floor by the doors. We LOVED our stay!
The house was great. We enjoyed our stay! A few things I would do next time is bring our own towels. The towels were kind of old and thin, more like rags than bath towels.
John is a retired pharmacist living in Avon, OH. John & Cathy enjoy outdoor activities, traveling and spending time with their three children and five grandchildren.
Hocking Hills is truly a natural wonder in Ohio with many outdoor activities for families to enjoy. There are parks with fantastic hiking trails to enjoy, lake and river activities, shopping, fishing, boating, zip lining, horseback riding and much more.
