Hi Carol! Thank you for your review. Savannah is a vibrant city with many neighborhoods, each with their own activities and attractions. Thomas Sq / Starland (our neighborhood) alone has 50+ shops and restaurants all within a short 10min walk from the cottage. Forsyth park, a popular Savannah landmark in the historic district, is also an easy10 minute walk from our cottage. In general Savannah is a very walkable city and if you leave our cottage and walk towards River street you will be able to enjoy so many attractions on each and every block along the way. If walking isn’t your thing, our cottage is a quick 5 minute Uber ride to River St (or most any popular destination) as well. Hi Leslie! Thank you again for choosing to stay with us. We’re glad to hear you enjoyed the modern amenities of our cottage. Despite being new construction we worked hard to create a space with charm and warmth of a traditional Savannah carriage house while providing all the modern comforts guests love. We’re especially glad to hear your loved the cozy beds and our antique clawfoot tub. Our ceiling mounted rain shower head like most rain showers, is designed to mimic a rain shower in nature so the you won’t have quite the same amount of pressure as a traditional shower head as it’s supposed to be a more relaxing experience. Parking in our neighborhood is free along the streets so there is an abundance of free parking options but since our neighborhood is a popular destination for restaurants, bars, street festivals and live music for locals and visitors alike at times when an event is taking place the parking can fill up — this is why we always provide our guests with the ability to park in our driveway off the street. We are disappointed to hear that the fee we charged for replacement of the blanket you took with you when you left created a negative impression on your stay Justin. Truthfully we reviewed our doorbell camera footage and we saw a member of your party taking the blanket, by itself, not “mixed up” in your “gear”, by their hand and putting it into your vehicle. Also, to be clear, you contacted us only after you received the charge of 50 dollars for the blanket replacement. At that time, after you’d been charged for the blanket, you noted you were staying in a neighboring state at another beach and that you’d like to return the blanket. However at that point we had no way to easily reverse the charge through VRBO and also didn’t want to inconvenience you by asking you to travel all the way back to Savannah during your vacation to return a inexpensive blanket that had already been paid for to be replaced. As a small business with a single property small items being taken like this blanket add up financially and due to the cost of the blanket we needed to charge to you for a replacement. We also had back to back bookings and so the blanket needed to be replaced immediately (same day) before a new guest arrived. I hope you can understand our reasoning as hosts and business owners here. Thank you again for staying with us and hopefully this message will help to ease your disappointment a bit.
