We absolutely loved it! We have stayed in a cabin for a week every year and this was the first year my kids were happy to spend 2 days just relaxing at the cabin! Will rent again!
My wife and I stayed here for her bday weekend. For the first time ever, we only left to go to the store! The cabin has an awesome location right next to the river and Mike and his wife are excellent hosts!
This cabin was wonderful. We stay in VRBO rentals several times a year. This place was the BEST! The owner thought of everything. We loved that the cabin felt remote, but was close to town. The sounds of the creek were so relaxing. We definitely plan to return.
We stayed in this cabin for a few Day during a trip to drop off a kid at summer camp. So relaxing and beautiful here, what a wonderful stream and great layout. Will definitely visit the site again.
The cabin is lovely, much care and thought has been put into the space. The creek is beautiful, has little waterfalls and sounds amazing. Lots of extras like trails, grill, picnic tables, rockers, fire pit, hammock, covered porch with covered hot tub. Amazing stay highly recommend!
The stars are beautiful and you see them well from the porch. Good exterior lighting.
Host is very responsive. The property is very clean. The outside furniture is ready to be enjoyed!
The road going in is a one lane mountain road with little shoulder space. Parts of it are gravel and a little steep. We have a 2 wheel drive low clearance vehicle and it was able to do the roads, but it felt better to stay at the cabin. Itâs got so much to enjoy there that you donât need to leave.
Itâs about 15 minutes or so to in town and just a short drive from Asheville and Biltmore estate. Folk art center is also great if you like art, has local artists and demonstrations.
There is a short flight of stairs from where you park to the front door, and another short flight of stairs from the porch to the ground.
The property is really lovely. There are some other cabins nearby, but feels very secluded. Feels like an escape into nature. Itâs wonderful to be surrounded by itâs beauty. One of my favorite trips I have had.if you are looking for time away from the hustle and bustle this cabin is a wonderful place to slow down and just appreciate the beauty of nature.
We rented this place to be away from everyone and couldnât have picked a better location! The creek running next to the Cabin had you hearing running water while in the hot tub or enjoying a cup of coffee on the deck. The rooms were exactly what we needed and the wood stove kept the house warm and smelling like a fire the whole weekend.
Also, We ran into an issue with the hot tub and Mike (owner) was there within minutes to fix the issue. Wifi worked great, satellite TV worked fine with no issues. Canât thank Mike enough for letting us book. Great getaway for 2-5 people!
Lovely, well maintained property. With no children to entertain, only our pups, and some pretty great weather, we were able to enjoy the property and the trails and the town. Fire pit, hot tub, grill, all got put to good use. House had everything we needed and being able to bring the dogs was a huge bonus.
Mike was a great host and the location made us seem in the middle of nowhere and yest we were close to Black Mountain and other great towns and hikes. I highly recommend Mike and all of his properties.
Thank you Mike
We enjoyed "unplugging" for a weekend at Creekside. The house was stocked with everything you need, and the owner was very responsive to questions. The house setting on the creek was amazing, the pictures do not do it justice. We would love to stay again.
Property was well maintained and the Cabin just as nice. Beautiful and well made cabin with all the amenities (in working condition) and for once a clean hot tub. Even after a long hot hike in Pisgah or along the BRP, relaxing in the hot tub was a great way to take in the outdoor and frolicking creek. Black Mtn is neat little town and has everything you need without visiting downtown Asheville. Lastly, it was a pleasure to meet the host Mike out on the mountain road working hard and I could tell he takes pride in these properties. Very responsive as well. Truly a great place to detach and enjoy the outdoors.
Although the checkin process was delayed due to the previous guests who trashed the cabin, once inside it was perfect! The cabin and grounds were spotless. The creek was gorgeous and we loved being beside it. The location to Black Mountain was close and we loved itâsrestaurants and shops. This was a much needed getaway for personal reasons and it couldnât have been better. Mike, the manager, was most helpful. The only downfall is the rough road getting to the property. Other than that, we couldnât have been happier with our stay.
Really enjoyed this cabin. It was very clean when we arrived and was exactly as described. The creek and fire pit really offered some great options to get outside and enjoy the property. It was maybe 10 or 15 minutes from downtown Black Mountain, and we really enjoyed it, and we were glad we could bring our little dog with us. It was far enough away from town that we felt sort of isolated, which we like, even with other properties around us, but was close enough to town that it wasn't an inconvenience to drive to the grocery store when we forgot something. Would stay here again.
Two things set this property apart from other places we have stayed in the area. Number one it was so clean you didnât have to wash the patio furniture before you sat on it, watch out for spiders, or avoid putting your shoes on the floor. Everything was spotless. No bugs.
Number two is the magical babbling brook that runs through the property as part of a private park that winds through the several houses that are part of the neighborhood. You canât see the other houses, but you are free to walk the brook. Itâs everything you could want. Magical!
My only negative feedback, and this would matter to people who need to use the upstairs loft bedroom, is that the room smells strongly of urine, as if the beds had been wet at some point by children staying in them. When we stripped off the one bed that we tried to use upstairs, there was a prominent urine stain in the middle of the mattress protector. Needs to be addressed. Otherwise, a perfect place.
Rental property was as described. The creek is very relaxing and the house is comfortable and we enjoyed our stay. We were surprised that the departure instructions required us to strip the beds, wash and put away the dishes, and wash the towels and put in the dryer, since there was a normal cleaning fee.
Fantastic Mountain Getaway for Our 20th Anniversary
This was the perfect mountain getaway for our 20th anniversary. The running creek was so relaxing. We loved having the hammock right next to the creek to relax in.
We spent a lot of our time on the deck watching the hummingbirds at the feeder.
The cabin itself was very clean and well stocked for our needs. If you aren't used to driving up and down mountains you may be a little intimated by the drive to get to the cabin but it really isn't that bad.
We are not big fans of the check out rule to wash, dry and put away towels that were used. We like to shower before we leave and felt very rushed the morning of checkout to get up early to get ready and do the laundry. Also, the way the rule reads in the book almost makes it sound like it is ok to just put the towels in the dryer if you are running low on time. That is certainly not what the owner means but if you didn't read it closely someone could misunderstand it.
Other than that this cabin was PERFECT and we had a wonderful time. A very short drive into Black Mountain! Make sure to stop in town at My Father's Pizza! It was delicious!
Ideal experience from end to end. The house and property are even better than described and the location makes a wide variety of day trips incredibly convenient.
Creek side is a beautiful, exceptionally well maintained property. The creek running through the property is beautiful and peaceful- we loved having our morning coffee on the deck listening to the water and birds. We hiked most days and returned to relax with nightly fires. It was the best of both worlds and weâd definitely stay again!
We spent most of the week hiking trails in Western NC so werenât in the house so much. But it would be a great place to relax. We enjoyed sitting around the fire pit next to the creek and lounging in the hammock. Thereâs a big tire swing and a hot tub we never found time to use. And the house itself is quiet and cozy and well stocked. It was lovely and Iâd definitely stay there again.
