A unique place with style! A lovingly restored roaring 20's house with many original features, honoring Chipeta "Queen of the Utes". It is family friendly and cozy but full of Native American art and artifacts. Enjoy the hot tub, fire pit and large patio. Nestled in a quiet neighborhood in the historic district of Grand Junction and within walking distance of the University and several parks. The space is not shared but we do have a traveling medical personal in the basement apartment. The space Three king beds, hot tub, large patio, fenced yard and fire pit. We have honored Chipeta in this unique house. The house was built in 1928 by an architect for himself. The exterior work of the stone mason can be found on other municipal buildings and parks. The upstairs and yard are not a shared space but we do have traveling medical personal apartment downstairs. Guest access The guests have full private access to the upper level and yard of this house.
This home is absolutely charming! Although we werenât able to take full advantage of all the amenities due to some much-needed rain in Grand Junction (which left the yard and outdoor furniture soaked) and unexpected I-70 traffic delays, we still had a great stay. We didnât get a chance to use the hot tub, but I did check it out and the water was crystal clear - Iâm sure it would have been a hit!We did get to enjoy our morning coffee in the sunshine, and the outdoor space is truly lovely and well thought out. Thereâs plenty of seating, a nice fenced-in area perfect for kids or a game of cornhole, and a shaded spot with a table and bench seating. Thereâs even a ramp leading to the backyard, though itâs a bit on the steep side.Inside, the house is beautifully decorated with an eclectic mix of Southwest style and fun vintage touches that really complement the era of the home. Every room is thoughtfully styled with unique art, lighting, and furniture - itâs clear a lot of care went into creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. We loved the selection of board games in the living room and the chess board in the foyer, already set up for play. All the beds were very comfortable - we all slept well. It was a bit warm (we stayed over the 4th of July), but once we figured out how to use the swamp cooler, the temperature was just fine.We would definitely stay here again!
