Luxury Family Cottage--Beachfront on the sugar white sands of Carrabelle Beach!

Thank you for considering our beautiful custom home on Carrabelle Beach for your family's next vacation escape. We built the 'White Pelican Cottage' to provide our family a safe, relaxing, and fun getaway from the stresses of city and work life. With our children now grown and off on their own, we have decided to share our special place with others who want the same memory making experiences with their families.

Whether it's fishing from the shore, or just laying out on the white sandy beach or building sandcastles with the kids, or taking long strolls along the beach, or kayaking __ just whatever you want to do, we know that your family will find that same relaxation and fun and togetherness that our family has enjoyed so much!

Families with young children will especially enjoy the safety of the normally calm waters and overall privacy of Carrabelle Beach. New, first time, visitors frequently claim that they did not even realize that such a beautiful and undeveloped place still existed in Florida....We explain that is why they call this part of Florida, the "Forgotten Coast"!

As you enter the house, you will see that we designed it to take full advantage of the beautiful views of the beach and the Gulf. Tall, wall-to-wall windows expand across the entire beachside of the house. The home's screened porch, great room, and both master bedrooms have direct views of the beach and waters of the Gulf.

While the house is certainly modern in its appointments, everything about it has a very relaxed ambiance and a very inviting southern coastal cottage design and feel. Its rich character-filled heart pine floors, originally acquired from a nearby plantation, definitely form the soul of the house. With its upscale interior decorating and southern beach house style, you might feel as if you are walking through the pages of a Coastal Living Magazine.

On the main floor, the unbelievably large great room area is definitely the heart of the home...everything happens here! Family and friends are drawn to this huge room with it's high ceilings and those stunning heart pine floors with plenty of space for everyone. This all-in-one room is over 40 feet long by over 30 feet wide and includes the kitchen and dining areas as well as one of the home's two home theater setups. Large wall-to-wall windows offer panoramic vistas of the beach and our two barrier islands, Dog Island and St. George Island, lying about 3 miles offshore.

A large screened porch overlooking the beach, is located just outside of the great room. There, sitting in the rocking chairs under the ceiling fans, you will know that you have found the true definition of "chilling at the beach". Morning coffee, afternoon naps on the outdoor sofa, evening drinks and story telling or relaxing with a great beach read , etc., are all perfect screened porch "chilling" activities!

When not playing on the beach or "chilling" on the screened porch, guests can stay entertained with 2 separate home theater setups. For families with children who like to play video games or watch their own movies, etc., the separate home theater set-up and get-away room for the kids may be the top feature of the house. Both home theater setups have large flat-screen TVs with surround sound speakers along with AppleTV boxes for access to every imaginable movie, etc.. Adults can enjoy their favorite movies, sports, etc. on the main level in the great room area, while the kids can go upstairs to the separate media/bunk/get-away room for their own TV watching and gaming, etc. without interfering with adult activities.

In addition to the 2 home theater setups, all bedrooms are equipped with flat-screen smart TVs. All TVs have all of the popular streaming apps such as Netflix, YoutubeTV, ESPN, etc.

For cooking and serving meals. the home's extra-large kitchen is well-equipped and is a chef's delight. (in fact, the kitchen can easily accommodate 2 chefs!).It is complete with all modern appliances, cooking utensils, plenty of plates, glasses etc. With it's 8 foot long island and generous counter space, you can be sure that you will have lots of room to prepare and serve meals for your hungry vacationing clan.

For outdoor cooking and entertaining, there is a Weber gas grill and a Weber Charcoal grill located down on the parking level below the house. There is also a large fish cleaning table in that area. To provide an extra layer of security when the house is vacant, the exterior of the house is protected and monitored with security cameras. The camera security system is de-activated upon our guests' arrival and during their stay.

A baby crib, a playpen, and a highchair are provided for those traveling with babies. Two additional twin sized mattresses are available to pull out of the storage closet if needed for extra guests.

After the sun goes down, folks love to gather around the home's outdoor fire pit. The fire pit is surrounded by 6 super comfortable Adirondack chairs made of locally sourced cypress. Here guests can sit around and roast marshmallows, tell stories, sing campfire songs or simply enjoy the beauty of the star-filled sky above.

If you want adventures beyond the beach, Carrabelle and its surrounding area offer a variety of activities to suit almost every interest. From fishing charters and kayaking to exploring nearby State Parks and nature trails and historical sites, there really is something for everyone to enjoy. If golf is your game, you will find a very challenging professional course at St. James Bay, just a 5 mile drive east of Carrabelle. For bicycle riders, there are bike rentals and bike trails on St. George Island, about 20 minutes away. More extensive bike pathways, consisting of many many miles, are located about 30 minutes away in Panacea, Florida.

Even with its natural beauty and many available activities, you can be sure that there will NEVER be any crowds or traffic to deal with at Carrabelle Beach! Potential guests should be aware that those who are drawn to, and are seeking the typical crowded and rowdy college spring-break beach destinations, will be very disappointed with the low-key nature of Carrabelle Beach and local surrounding areas.
