Beautiful cozy cabin located on the snowmobile trails in Grand Lake!
Situated on a beautiful setting with views of many mountain ranges and critter sightings! Big chance you will see many elk, deer, moose, and possibly a bear! Enjoy a mountain weekend, hiking, snowmobiling, skiing, ATV rides, and a sauna to warm up at end of those cold winter days! Too much snow outside or just want to stay inside? Enjoy a beautiful fire and playing games, cards or puzzles- many to choose from. Additionally, Sun Valley lake is just a short walk from the cabin, where fishing is allowed (catch and release), as well as non-motor boating and playing
Home was very clean and well appointed. The water is high on sulfur. The host did supply plus with bottled water for drinking and cooking. My family enjoyed our stay in the Grand Lake area.
We had an incredible stay at this cabin in Grand Lake! The views of the mountains were absolutely breathtaking, and the snowy landscape made it feel like a winter wonderland. The cabin itself was cozy, well-maintained, and the perfect spot for a relaxing getaway. The area has a special charm, and weâre already planning to come back. Highly recommend this gem for anyone looking to enjoy the beauty of Colorado!
We had a wonderful Labor Day weekend with the cozy cabin being an incredible home base. Hiked four trails, sat on the amazing back porch during the afternoons and evening around the fire. Quiet, and away from the hustle of town. We actually saw 5 moose in the neighborhood!
Perfect stay for a great weekend!
So happy! Memories were madeâŠwhich was the goal. Great location. A moose with our breakfast. Jane was super communicative and kind!!! So happy! We truly appreciate them opening our home to us!
Beautiful cabin nestled right next to RMNP! We loved staying here and had endless fun! Fish, kayak, hike, sightsee or ride atvâsâŠthe choices are endless! So happy to see the rebuilding in this beautiful community. Will come again! Jane is wonderful and very quick to respond with any questions/recommendations!
This is a new, beautiful and very comfortable home. It had everything we needed for cooking. The deck is huge and we enjoyed hanging out there while we watched critters cross through the area, including elk and a moose. It's also a quick walk to the lake. Jane was very accommodating and responsive. We've been visiting the Sun Valley Lake area for over 15 years and would stay here again.
This is a very nice house, with amazing views of Rocky Mountain National Park. It's also not far from town. Owner was very helpful. One thing to note, they do not have trash pickup. You have to buy special trash bags in town that can be dropped at the trash location in town. We didn't know this and the owner allowed us to leave our garbage at their house, which was very nice of them.
The property is new and absolutely beautiful! Huge patio with a fire pit that is perfect for morning coffee and cocktails while watching the sun go down. It's quiet and surrounded by nature...lot's of deer, elk, and even buffalo. A lake within a 5-minute walk offers fishing and canoeing. The house was impeccably clean with beautiful furnishings, all new appliances, kitchen utensils, washer / dryer, and even a sauna! Everything you need to stay in for a night, or just a 5- minute drive to the town. Jane was responsive and wonderful to work with! Definitely our favorite VRBO rental in Grand Lake!
Our stay at Smith Cabin was truly exceptional. Despite being brand new, the cabin exudes a warm and cozy ambiance. The master suite's bed is exceptionally comfortable, and the multi-head shower offers a spa-like experience, perfect for chilly evenings.
The well-stocked kitchen, complete with every utensil youâd find at home, made cooking our own meals a pleasure. For convenience, I recommend shopping for groceries in Granby, as Grand Lake's smaller markets can be limited and pricey.
The living room and deck are the cabin's highlights. The living roomâs plush couch and floor-to-ceiling windows provide breathtaking views, and the deck is perfect for both dining al fresco and relaxing around the cozy fire pit. We were fortunate to see a mother and baby moose grazing right in the backyard during our stay.
While we didn't use the upstairs or guest bedroom, the cabin easily accommodates two families, making it a great choice for larger groups.
Our time at Smith Cabin was a perfect escape from the Texas heat. We enjoyed sunny days, afternoon thunderstorms, and clear night skies. The cabinâs location is ideal, just minutes from the west entrance of Rocky Mountain National Park, the charming downtown Grand Lake, and picturesque lake views. Weâre already looking forward to our next visit.
The cabin was absolutely wonderful! It was beautiful, spacious, relaxing and so close to RMNP!I would like to make note for future guests, there is no trash removal for this property. It would be nice if the owner listed trash options in the info on the fridge. We found what appeared to be a neighborhood dumpster and disposed of our trash there.Overall, everything was very nice and relaxing. I did give the rating a 4 star for the sulphur water smell, but that is beyond the owners control. It stunk pretty badly when running any water - doing dishes, washing hands and showering. My husband and kids refused to shower while staying in the cabin. I unfortunately smelled like sulphur most of the day after showering at the cabin.
