This Monkton, Vermont library cottage was once home to adventures, fairy tales, comics, mysteries and fiction. It has recently been transformed into a welcoming space for travelers to call their home away from home. Very centrally located between Burlington and Middlebury, within walking distance to the new Monkton Town Library and Chocolate Store. Enjoy breathtaking sunrises over Camel's Hump and sunsets over the Adirondacks. Within a short drive, 15 mins. to local restaurants, hikes, fishing, rivers, skiing (Middlebury Snow Bowl, Sugarbush, Mad River Glen, and Bolton Valley), and mountain biking. We are eco-friendly and are mindful of our carbon footprint that we will leave behind.
This cozy cottage was the perfect getaway for us. The kitchen was well-stocked with cookware, dishes, and utensils for cooking our own meals. Everything is very new and in great condition, and the A/C worked well in the July heat. The location is perfect for enjoying nature, while still being a short drive from Burlington and lots of great food and drink options.
The cottage is like staying in a home, not a typical rental. Comfortable furniture, bed and pillows, good linens and towels, and the most well-supplied kitchen I have seen in a rental. Everything is clean and maintained. Though just off a busy road, it is quiet in the house. Well-located for visiting nearby towns. Food not far away. I felt safe and enjoyed my stay.
The Library Cottage met and exceeded our expectations. It was cozy, clean, welcoming and very well stocked. A perfect place for us to stay while visiting our Vermont family. We will definitely be booking again.
We had a flat tire our first morning at the cottage and several locals were very helpful in guiding us to where to get it repaired. The property manager was very responsive to questions. The cottage was very attractively decorated, the bed and sofa were very comfortable and the heating system worked very quickly.
We loved staying at this cottage! Perfect for the two of us, while we visited our daughter who couldnât come home for her Thanksgiving break from UVM. The furnishings, and decor were perfect and we were able to come back at the end of the day to a warm and cozy place!! We will definitely return!
The Monkton Library Cottage was the perfect spot for us to stay while visiting our son and family. It was clean, cozy and equipped with everything we needed for making soup to bring to a family dinner. We won't hesitate to book again!Teri from Connecticut
Perfect place to stay and explore the surrounding areas. Forts, museums, parks, restaurants and history all around. Nina was great and is actually opening a second hand store across the street. Very nice place.
My wife and I had our honeymoon in Vermont and stayed at thjs quaint cottage. It was the perfect getaway for the two of us. The cottage was very nice and communication with the owner was easy.
We enjoyed our anniversary stay at the cottage. Itâs the perfect spot in the country for a couple. Well equipped and decorated. Nina was a great host and answered any questions we had promptly.
The location of the cottage was great... out of the way, but not too far from restaurants, grocery store, etc. (only about 20 minutes to Burlington). It was very clean and we had good communications with the host. Recommended!
Had an awesome winter stay, Nina is a great host, the house was newly renovated, and had everything you could want, amazing place couldnât recommend more!
My husband and I stayed here when visiting Vermont for our anniversary. We absolutely loved the cottage! It had everything we needed and it was so cozy. It was just a short drive away from Burlington and Stowe. Our host, Nina, was easy to communicate with and responsed to our questions quickly. We will definitely stay here again on our next visit to Vermont. We can't wait!
This cozy cottage was a perfect size for us and our teenage daughter to stay over UVM parents weekend. It had a brand new shower, comfortable chairs and a clean modern kitchen. A sliding barn door separates the one bedroom from the rest of the cottage. The cottage was right off main road in a sleepy hamlet.
Had to be in Burlington, VT to help our daughter with moving into UVM and chose the cottage as is was close enough to college but still felt out in the country. We stayed 4 days and loved the cottage, the location and the neighborhood. Nina has thought of everything you would need, we didnât want for anything. Fully furnished kitchen, wonderful shower, cozy bedroom. Parking was convenient (located outside the cottage) and there was great information in the cottage recommending what to see, where to eat, how to get there. Highly recommend and plan to return. Compliments to Nina on the property and how easy it was to communicate with her.
