We spent 5 nights here. The basement apartment of the house was super clean. We appreciated the all of the amenities of a stocked kitchen, clean linens, and washer and dryer. We didnât spend many waking hours here as we were trying to take in as much of Alaska as we could. The beds were comfy for sleeping.
Location was convenient, but outside of house/neighborhood looked sketchy. When you open the front keypad door, the entrance has a split entry and you see 2nd keypad door on bottom. You walk in to a narrow hallway and you see 2 bedrooms on the right & living area, kitchen with trundle bed to the left of hallway. The kitchen looked newly remodeled, but bring your own bottled drinking water. It wouldâve been nice IF they had a Brita filter water pitcher or a Brita faucet filter attachment so you can have clean water to drink. Only provided 4 kirkland water bottles for a 3 night stay. Keurig coffee maker had brown fuzz at bottom of water tank which we didnât use. Electric kettle also had weird white stains at bottom which we didnât touch. Bathroom smelled funky like urine, towels also smelled funky. Shampoo, conditioner & body wash were in weird mismatched almost empty bottles. Bedrooms had wrinkled sheets, but smelled okay. Found a huge safety pin in primary Bed, thankfully it was in a closed position. That wouldâve been a huge red flag of it was in open and would not be happy having a big needle hidden in bed between sheets. Trundle bed squeeked every time my son moved in it. Couches had green waffle blankets as covers. Not very homey, just meh. Would only recommend for men to stay in this VRBO since it looked more like a bachelorâs pad than a nice VRBO that you pay good money for. The only think I do like is it had a washer & dryer to wash clothes.
The apartment was conveniently located in midtown and close to just about everything we needed. I stayed for 10 days alone before my family joined me for 10 more days, and the space was very clean and adequate for all 5 of us. Olivia was very accommodating and the communication with her was excellent!
